To everyone who's flipping out on him for recording the guy, watch the PSA he made, which includes footage from after the crash. He was making a video to show the police, including recording the damage to the other 2 vehicles. Maybe he called the police before he started recording? Who knows?
And look at the reflection in his windshield. He was still holding the wheel properly, not driving like a maniac like the dude in front of him.

@tenachiasaca11 How exactly do you suggest he stop the accident? Citizens arrest Barney style? Pull out his inner cop and start ramming him from the corners? Use your brain before posting.
At least this way there's physical evidence that the person was swerving long before the incident and they can't claim it was an accident. So if they were drunk there's a much higher liklihood of getting the highest penalty possible.

Also in what star trek transporter are cops going to suddenly appear and pull the guy over? I really really doubt they are going to roll anyone out lights and sirens for someone texting.
As for making the video it's not quite the same. All you do is point and shoot your not looking at the camera your not entering text your just holding it.

@kilroy238 The Idiot is the person knew an accident was going to happen. And didn't do nothing to prevent it. He could have alerted the police. But no the choice was to follow the person for his amusement. How do we know if the person is really texting? God knows! Maybe the person was having a stroke? Doing nothing makes you as evil as a person texting. Will this camera man help someone laying down in the street who is dying or will he pull out the camera?

@havtime Common sense tells me I believe an accident will happen but I don't know. Common sense also tells me there is not a thing in the world I can do to prevent it without also endangering my own life because I'm in the middle of an interstate with no exits so the possibility of a cop being about to get there in a couple of minutes is highly improbable.
PS fake or not doesn't matter as the scenario and logic is valid.

@kc0arrl an emergency is something a cop goes to with lights and sirens, inattentive and reckless driving can lead to an emergency in itself is not life threatening but my point was this. They're on rural interstate chances are no cops are anywhere in the area and will be of no use anytime soon. Call it in and report a possible drunk driver sure but don't expect them to show up anytime soon.
