@pinz2022 Weeelll.. I do pointe and I love it! It's beautiful. It doesn't actually hurt all that much and there is some amount of pain in any sport really. It's the kind of pain that you just live with and continue on with. You can't get anywhere in life with out a little suffering! Haha that sounds really bad.... But when you think about it, it's true. :)
A classic moment, and much too brief. I recognized Uliana dancing in the 2010 Winter Olympic closing ceremonies (Russia being the host of the next Winter Olympics). Even beneath all the makeup and costume, it was obviously Uliana.
@pherankh I saw her toooooo!! Except it wasn't during the closing ceremonies, there was an actual show and she did a piece from Carmen at the Orpheum. It was so good!
they say she was bandy/bow-legged as a child....I am too, and watching her dance gives me hope for the future. I wonder, how did she overcome this physical impediment?
Even though this is a short video, its one of my most favorites. It is absolutely beautiful in all ways, from the lighting, her beautiful movements and the children watching through the door.
I love the view from behind, there's things you don't notice otherwise like how amazing her turnout is, plus how beautiful her back and neck are. So exquisite.
So beautiful!!! I wish I could know more about her choices in the coreography and the movements she does. During these years, she has being changing them, improving them... This documentary is on Lopatkina??
i could watch this all day, one of my favorite videos. just her in that sillhouette is so breathtaking. she has THE best hands and arms of any dancer i have ever seen
my self esteem just hits rock bottom when i look at an amazing dancer like her, good gosh wish i could be as graceful and skinny!!! beautiful and incredible.
i love this documentary.

It hurts just to watch. Who was the monster who invented pointe shoes? That is sooo unnatural!

this is exquisitely beautiful. No mirror, no self-indugance. She IS the swan here, she becomes a swan.

At 0:49 and 1:09--that's certainly Lopatkina's profile....
Remember--Fokine choreographed La Mort du Cygne for Pavlova-- who was comparitively tall, as ballerinas went....

Her port de bras is to die for. If there was ever any wonder why ballet is high art, uliana is the living embodiment.
