  • @kingsj3st3r I don't want likes. I'm just proving to the general public that the current generation of underage people is not completely brain dead.

  • @FailureIsImminent For the win.

  • feel like dancing in the restaurant of the dirigible on it's way to the Empire State Building, back in 1930s (I am 23 )

  • @alexciorici I'm glad you feel the same way I do. I'm 22 and this music makes me feel like I'm standing on an airfield in the mid 1940s in a black and white world.

  • @4205lr: Moe Purtill, of course! Thank you! His signature rimshot accents help define Glenn Miller's timeless music!

  • Ou, I love it!!

  • I love death metal, and I love this, don't care what you say, I LOVE BOTH

  • great music!

  • sooo gooooooooood~ must.....click.....replay....button......

  • This is real music.... Nuff said

  • One of the best, if not the best song Glen Miller ever did and a classic of the War Years.

  • This is it! This is the version I've searched for the longest time, with the extended (Mel Purt?) drum solo! Thank you very much!

  • @Gladiatorcat Maurice {Moe} Purtill.

  • 24 people are jealous of the epic Glen Miller stare. 1,692 people stand in awe of it.

  • 24 people aren't on the American Patrol.

  • Ahhhhhhhhh........ Glenn Miller

  • 20 career musicians played this song with perfection every time. Night after night for years on end. They were a hit every time. Now we have single individuals claiming to be musicians who sit at computers and "make" music with software programs. To those who think that is music in any way shape or form, I reject your reality, slap you in the face and scream at you to wake the frick up and get some culture.

  • @bbjornst07 Music used to be a social event. Something you did not just listen to, but lived. Now the idea of a good dance is a DJ playing screwed up rap songs. I will give credit, some rapper work really hard and have some decent work, but most of them are all image and no talent. A computer cannot substitute musical acumen.

  • happy Veteran's Day!

  • Ads: Ruining good music since the dawn of time.

  • The original and best!

  • @sheka216

Please, no offence, but a friendly FYI...Clarinda was his birthplace. I'm just so grateful that there's one more of out there who are devoted fans. All the best thought to you and keep on swingin' ! :>

  • Marvelous music ladies and gentlemens!!!!

  • Who couldn't, wouldn't shouldn't boggle then, now.. community rules..individuals are grand but communities live.

  • I remember this playing in the Simpsons!

  • @sErgEantaEgis12 what episode man???

  • @TheMattwasherein1992 Simpsons Christmas Stories, season 17

  • @TheMattwasherein1992 It's the one where Abe Simpson tell this WW2 story where he is an American soldier in the Pacific and get stranded on an island with Burns and waiting for Santa Claus to rescue them.

  • is there anyone on any of these "so called talent shows, that are on at the moment, ", can play any instrument, at all, they seem to be all "so called talented singers only", nothing else, so boring!!!!!!!!

  • I'm a retired Army SSG and I've always liked this music. The greatest generation.

  • This is one of Glen Miller's greatest works. It symbolizes the American people and our Armed Forces during their greatest challenge in history thus far. I'm a Vietnam vet but I've always identified more with my dad and mom's generation than with my own generation. I believe my parents generation saved our nation and the world. But I also believe many of my generation, including our "leaders" from both parties, such as Cheyney, Clinton, Rumsfeld sold out this country for their own selfish gain.

  • My name is Frank Drebin, I was heading back from the carwash when...

  • Cool I love this song.

  • Coll I love this song.

  • music history lolll nazi fundzdation maybe

  • Glenn Miller was great and left us musch tooooo soon & American Patrol is one of the GREATEST songs in music history.

  • Tops tune. On my list to be played at my funeral. That'll get their feet a-tappin' in the aisles!

  • This makes me nostalgic and I wasn't even from that era.

  • i love the 20s and the 30s years

  • Im confused - was this music composed/written by Glenn Miller or F.W Meacham???

  • @Trekkie54who

    Written by F.W. Meachem in 1885 (yep,1885).

  • ohh yea almost forgot....... Thank you Glenn Miller

  • I was browsing new music today and came across this, and i guess my grandma overheard me listening and barged in and try to teach me how to dance 40's era style and it put a smile on my face to see her so happy...

  • @saythanx,

and then when she was done teaching you how to "cut the rug" you passed out on your bedroom floor in exhaustion while she continued on by running around the block for 10 whole minutes.

    (8^)

  • i love the 40's and 50's it was the golden age of America, it was wen America was real.

  • This still brings a tear to my eyes

  • I know Glenn Miller what else do I need

  • i play this in an original WW2 78 rpm record!

  • I may be wrong but I think this song is titled "Don't sit under the apple tree". Not American Patrol.

  • @LaserBeam002 u r wrong is similar chords thou I see where u got that

  • @LaserBeam002

'Apple Tree' is a different song that Glenn Miller also played and recorded. The openings of the 2 songs do sound similar. But this song is American Patrol.

  • AWESOME SONG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fkn great @ss muzik rt here

  • is there some palce where i can download this palylist? i only found covers of gelnn miller, good ones, but they dont ahve the feeling of these, the dust they have on it makes it unique

  • 20 PEOPLE HAVE NO TASTE IN MUSIC

  • Nice upload. Thank you.

  • Sei un genio!

Il migliore compositore mai sentito prima!!!!!!!

Lo ascolto quando taglio la carne d`agnello!!!!!!!!!

  • This was when America took pride in their country and loved their troops!!

  • R.I.P Major Glenn Miller... & To all the soldiers around the world who fought and died heroically for peacekeeping... And lastly F*** those so called "LEADERS" whom commanded them to WAR... WHY Don't all of these F****** sissy Lady boy CUNTS just fight the war themselves?... Instead of sacrificing innocent lives only to gain their F****** reputation or worldwide resources for all their F****** $pockets' sake$...

This music is... Heroic... is Wonderful... is Honor!!! Is...Is... GLENN MILLER!

  • How can anyone actually be able to dislike this? I have been listening to it for over an hour non stop now and I simply can't find any logical reason to click the dislike button, as my father would say "drag them outside and have them shot" if you do find them you are obliged to follow that instruction.

  • @ghosthunter2010100 The music is great; you're a dope.

  • @fishbob1193

Well, as far as I concern, I'm a 78 years old man I do remember when I heard in the radio the GM loss. Always has been a fan of this magnificent musician. I have most of his records, LPs and now CDs.

Few years ago I went to Best Buy to buy a set of three CDs and the young fellow who tried to help me, he didn't know who GlennMiller was, he asked the same question to fellows’ workers...they didn't know either, what a shame.

  • @KAIROA thats definately a shame that they did not know who glenn miller is, im only 16 and he is one of my favourites, these days people dont know what real music is

  • I'm a sperm cell and I think liking this music means I will be born in the wrong era!

  • My daughter loved this Glen Miller when I used to play it next to her mums belly. She would jump about so much ha! She's 1mth know. Can't beat the good stuff.....

  • What on Earth happened to this type of music? To hell with all this modern crap. Long live Swing!

  • Glenn Miller was one elegant gentleman.

  • I love this music so much it beings us back to a time where America was America..

  • @Jpizzel1000 I was there, and you do not even know the half of it. We were proud, capable, and we did not bluff. If only there was a way to show the whining America of today what it was like to be real men, real women, and a real country that was a leader and envy of all others.

  • @Halo101st ....When you say...."You were there"........Where were you and when?.....If you don't mind me asking....Yes, my name here was my squadron also.....Think before you answer.

  • @474TFW I have no idea what that comment was in reference to, I did not make it.

I am sure it was my uncle who "was there," Bravo Company, 502nd Airborne (PIR) Normandy into Germany, 1944 - '45.

I set him up to listen to some off his big band music when he was here visiting. Why he left the comment I cannot say.

  • @Halo101st Does not look like the language of a man in his mid+ 80s.....It would as well be strange for him to assume that we "Don't know the half of it"........(Bullshit)...........That is all I have to say....So be it.....Good day.

  • @474TFW For that matter, neither do you. If you served with the 474th Tactical Fighter Wing in WWII, you and my uncle are peers. No, you would not know Harold is 86. I hope to look as good and be as active if I reach his age. Both of you men have my respect for your accomplishments. Incidentally, my name was my division, Vietnam, 1968 - 70. Good day to you.

  • @Halo101st back in the 60s/70s/80s we were stupid america is falling faster than ever, at leat bush made us trough but obama is ruining america with stupid liberal ideas, fuck obama i want my change back

  • @FPScino All we need to do is hold the line until we can vote obama out of office next year, and that is, I believe, a forgone conclusion. We cannot allow that incompetent to destroy any more of The United States.

However, with the current brand of RINOs in the leadership roles for the Conservatives, I don't know...

  • @Halo101st republican party will live forever

  • @FPScino Yes, but as conservatives or weak-kneed RINOs?

  • @Halo101st as a party that knows how to win money fast without creating issues,

  • @Halo101st Pride hurt badly...

  • @saulocpp Pride hurt badly...? I do not follow you. What do you mean? Whose pride and how?

  • This is the tune they played after the performance of "Pink Floyd: The Wall Live at Earls Court 1980" was over.

  • I learned to type on a typewriter to the beat of this song. I love this mellow music.

  • they sure don't make music like this any more.

  • @gnaym1968 unfortunately...

  • fear for the sob that startles ur son

  • and he has a gun

  • ur son is safer than walking the streets of detroit in daylight, don't worry!

  • balance, the universe is full of examples

  • I want to live a clean life as much as humans are capable, don't you?

  • not legally but morally

  • his music makes me particularly sad around christmas when he died is a dicotomy,is beautiful music but in conflicting times, the war is over but the toll is now being realized

  • I play this on my flute xD

  • Iv played this on my trumpet im in 5th grade

  • born to late =(

i alwys remember my grandpa listening to this in a record he bought, moving his finger , swinging it around, telling me about the good ol days, where the state toook care of people, when they protected your right as an employee , btw, my coutnry never entered the war so we really enjoyed the 40s

  • @Loxleiev neutrality is as bad as helping the enemy

  • @Syzygy60 like the US did since 1942? dont bullshit me around, war is hell, besides the rpessurover on 3rd world countriwes who could never afford going to war by the world powers was huge, jess...

  • iw as born to late to hear this and seen as a werido, remeber hearing this my my grandpas, telling me about the good ol times, when he sued to go dancing, back in the 40s( my country never entered the war =) ) hearing the radio novels, having a safe job and knowing that the state backed u up if they decided to fire you ect, good times indeed

  • I like this music very much.

  • Sometimes i feel like I should have been born 100 years earlier. This kind of music barely exists today. :/

  • @StudioGoldsmith i agree

  • when have u heard big band music like this?

  • tell your son to keep his weapon loaded when he gets back and aim at...no wait,I'd better not say that even in jest it may be taken seriously...nevermind u know who 2 aim at

  • Northtide -Born in '42 and a WWII buff and am arare of that fact - Hurricanes were fabric covered like Spads for cryin out loud.

Catch Moe's drumming in Miller's Bugle Call Rag. I don't know why he isn't listed on the great drummers site, everyone who picked up a stick is there.

  • You are quite right. On an only slightly related point did you know that the RAF fought the Battle of Britain largely with Hurricanes? Spitfires played an imporant part of course but the poor old Hurricane never gets any credit.

  • This is MUSIC !!! That drummer has GOT to be Kruppa.

  • @Northtide I believe the skins are being kicked by Moe Purtil (not sure of spelling)

  • @Northtide I believe the skins are being kicked by Moe Purtil (not sure of spelling).

  • @medmond6 u mean the drummer,I never heard that term I like it,I'm a skinner

  • @Northtide

I don't know who is playing the drums but I thought Kruppa played with Benny Goodman not Glen Miller. I could be wrong. Great music whoever is playing!

  • @capeltonfire Moe Purtill is on drums.

  • Me too Catman! B-25 liberators with a P 51 mustang escort as well. Cadillac of the skies!

  • @jgrannell1 The B-25 was the Mitchell, the B-24 was the Liberator, but yeah.

  • I always imagined an American WW2 Navy destroyer plying the seas at high speed to the tune of American patrol.

  • and the next time I hear Harry Reid or any one(democrat) say the war is lost.I'm gonna shove my boot up their ass I'll neeed to have u stick out ur tongue so I can shine my boots
