Please site your source. You are mixing your facts up with H.influenza vaccine which was the leading cause in the 1990's. According to statistician's textbook of medicine's recent edition, strep. pneumo. remains BY FAR the Most common over all cause with N.meningitidis a far second. As far as I know Strep. Pneumo vaccinations are given universally after the age of 65 so I don't know how this would affect the entire majority of the world's population. What serotypes are you talking about?
