Mika - No not 80, 73 kilos. But it's not my fault ! I'm eating, i'm eating all the day.

Journalist - When is the next album ?

Mika - The next album may be next year, why not.

Journalist - You're writing rigth now ?

Mika - Yes.

Journalist - You're still writing all your songs ?

Mika - Yes of course. I like to collaborate. I have a lot to do between the first and the second album and we have some months.

Mika - Are you confortable ? In fact you're a little thin. You should eat a little more.

Journalist - I'm 1,90 meters tool for 75 kilos, could you imagine ?

Mika - 1,90 meters for what ? 75 kilos ? You have a problem guy !

Journalist - Yeah I know.

Mika - And it's me who say that !

Journalist - Yeah what about you ? You weigh 30 kilos isn't it ?

Mika - Yes 30 kilos. No, no I gained weight recently.

Journalist - So you weigh 80 kilos ?

Mika - And it was the first night club in the world specific for fat women. So I

watched all these big women who seemed happy with all these men liking them and thin women couldn't get in. And I saw that and i said to myself : "Oh my God I must write something for these women ". And I wrote it in 15 minutes at 2:00 am. And also my mother is a little big. When I was young I was a little big. And there's persons in my family who are big so it's personal.

Mika - I was home one night and I had to take the plane next day to go to Los Angeles. I hate flights, it's horrible. So I couldn't sleep it was two in the morning and i watched a documentary on TV which was dealing with obesity in USA. And this documentary was much negative, much horrible in fact. But there was a moment when the presenter was going in a night club called ???.

Mika - Then I continued, I wrote my own songs but at the same time I had jobs, all sorts of jobs with complicated and contemporary music. It was in Germany

and Warsaw. I also did jingles for Hollywood chewing gums.

Journalist - How was the jingle ?

Mika - You're question is surprising me so much. Everyone is asking me this !

Mika - I couldn't suscribe in an another school because I had a lot of problems, I'm dyslexic and I can't read or write in french. So I had to startover, I studied with a russian teacher whose name was Alla Ardkoff and after three months I had my first job. It was in a Chorus, I had a role in a little operetta called "The Shadowless woman" [I'm not sure of this translation].

Journalist - Relaaax. I'm doing it again just for you, it's a gift. Do you take care of you're voice because it's a fragile muscle or what ? How it's happening ?

Mika - Oh no the voice is a fragile muscle but.... - look what I'm doing ! - ... but if we breathe well and if we have a good technique we can really do all what we want. I had luck, I begined to sing seriousy when I was 11 years old. They fired me of the school, I mean the French Lycée and then I had nothing to do for about 8 months.

Journalist - Concerning the voice...

Mika - I had just lost my voice. You've been asking me to much question.

Journalist - Oh I don't want to be responsable if there is no second album. You'll say : "It's because of Guillaume."

Mika - It's because of Guillaume !

Journalist - When do you say to yourself " I can sing very hight, I can do it." Relaaaax.

Mika - What's that ?

Mika - So when he came back we started over in London, we moved in London. When I was living in Paris we were listning to everything. We were listning to Gainsbourg and all his women : Jane Birkin, France Gall, all this barbies it was great. I like it. But at the same time we were listning to Fayrouz, Pantera, John ?, ?, ?. All a mix. Not much rock, I had to discover it by myself.

Journalist - Then you've been in England and you were listning to something else. Is it a mix of everything ? A big milkshake ?

Mika - I was born in Beirut in 1983 then we moved because of the war. I lived here in Paris for eight or nine years. Then my father was stuck in the golf's war because he was there for a business trip. He was stuck in Kuweit, in the ambassade for 8 month and when he came back we lost everything, it've been hard.

Mika - I remember The Olympia, i mean this room. I was thinking "Wow this room belong to Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf and nobody else." It's funny, it's totally weird that tonight it belongs to me. Tomorrow it will belong to somebody else but tonight it's mine.

Journalist - So for those who still doesn't know Mika, what your music should be ? You were in France you were listning to Gainsbourg and I don't know what.

Journalist - You said that when you were young you were going to The Olympia to see Edith Piaf and others. Playing at The Olympia it's not nothing.

Mika - No playing at the Olympia it's not nothing at all. It's a "landmark"

[Here the journalist give a french word for landmark, the cameraman give another word and Mika say : "Everyone saying something different. Don't give me six words to translate one ! You're going to break my head ! "]

Journalist - All right lets keep landmark.

Mika - We started a tour 8 or 9 month ago, we worked hard, we did shows all around Great Britain, before launching a single, so there were 15 persons at Birmingham, then 25 then more. But it was a big show, we didn't changed so much. We do a type of show and it never changes. Even if there is 10 persons in the room we do a show as big as usual.

Journalist - There were 2500 person tonight.

Mika - Yes there were 2500 person.
