  • I've got a TP-Link WA701ND, it's all configured into Repeater mode and knows my Root Access Point of which it's repeating, so it's plugged into my PS3, I try wired, doesn't work, I try wireless, and it shows two of my SSIDs, one with 100% strength and the other around 50-60%. I put in the password to the root access point onto the 100% and it doesn't work! Help please!

  • redneck

  • Dude what operating system or theme are you using there? It's really nice..

  • To 'Wireless Repeater Bridge Setup' author. Follow-up just to let you know that I have tried a number of times to delete my one rude comment but it appears that there is a YouTube bug or problem for people like me who just want to retract or delete their own comments and YouTube doesn't seen to be concerned about it. I am not in the habit of posting rude or thoughtless comments; as I said before, I was just having a bad day and regretfully made an anal mistake which I would like to correct.

  • @rui01belo No worries man, its deleted

  • I apologize for the harsh, rude comments. Looking back on them now, I do admit I had my head up my butt. Unfortuntately, it had been a very slow, tiring process trying to collect the information I needed to help answer my questions and resolve my own setup issues. Regrettfully I had reached a peak of stymie by the time I came across your video. At that point I decided to vent my frustrations. If I knew how to retract or at least edit the comment, I would. Your video did help some.

  • @rui01belo Excuse me, but this is a good explanation of what a repeater bridge setup is. I never said it was a tutorial. Thats not in the title, nor description. Maybe you should get your head out of your butt. This is a real substance video as far as an explanation of a repeater bridge setup. But this isnt a tutorial. As I said, I never stated it was. • hey bro.

do i have to use the same router as the other one from the wall?

  • @haqeem18 no

  • speedtest(dot)net FTW!!! With my new router, I pulled 20Mbps Download and 3.4Mbps for Upload!

  • could i use this to pick up a wep encyped wifi netowrk ( have the password ) from my neibours then make my own acess point cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Wireless-G-802-11G-WiFi-Network-DD-WRT-DDWRT-Router-/280456013220?pt=UK_Computing_Networking_SM&hash=item414c7b25a4

  • So basiscly this is how its set up. You have a computer with internet downstaires, connected to your wireless router. upstaires, you have another wireless router, wirelessly connected to the first, and has the wire connection to the xbox 360, with no internet ports upstaires correct? So It's all wireless?

I have an xbox 360 wireless adapter now that doesn't work well. I always have a single 1 bar red connection. I want to have less lag in my games, would games work better with another router?

  • @Spev624 Yes, that is correct. Just make sure if you buy another router it is supported by DDWRT, and do some research about DDWRT first, to learn how to do it. And yes, it is way better than using just 1 router.

  • Did you have to input settings into the new router to make it work? And after you made the bridge you just pluged your console directly into the new router?

How did you upload the settings on the new router?

  • @Spev624 you match the repeater's settings to the exact ones of the default router. Even down to the broadcast channel

  • The blooming video stopped half-way in What Gives?

  • if i get a wireless repeater how close or far do i need to be from the router?

  • Hi, I already have my Repeater Bridge sat up a while ago, my problem is I currently have a third router (no DD-WRT support) connected to the secondary router (Repeater Router), it seems like the devices I connected to my third router is in a different lan network (can't access the primary router and secondary router through these devices connected to third router).

I have been doing research online for few days, no resullt..do you know how do I get them on the same lan network?

  • i need a tutorial i am picking up a free neighbor hood connection but my ps3 dosent pick it up i need to figure out how to get the signal to reach the ps3 with my AP+4 by zoom, how do i get everything the same?

  • Hi playgta4 the boogerboymeister video got me here! AND BEEN wacthing ur vids nice vids u have here! And I had to leave a comment cause I tried to do this same thing as in the video but it would not work! I did it once with a router but I forgot how to do it again! I think i need to have the same ip address or mac adresses on both routers or something like that! do u have the utube link of were u found this turorial? if u can thanks! oh and im subbing favorting and 5 stars!

  • @Edsan91 You have to assign a diff. ip to each connected machine on the network, so if your first router is 192.168.1.1 then your repeater or whatever needs to be 192.168.1.2, the computer should be 192.168.1.3 and so on, some modes requires that you use something like 192.168.1.35 or the like. google is your friend and there are PLENTY of tuts on this.

  • Can you make a tut on how to set this up cos i wanna do it cos the router my isp gave me have my password already in it and i was never told + the signal of that router cant even get through the wall ^.^ Thanks Man

    Btw Nice Video ;)

  • @itsmeithink95 Google it, its simple networking.

  • nice work man

  • I missed the point of a bridge? Does it hook up to your regular router and basically increase wifi range or what?

  • No, it has no cords running to the first router, it is all wireless. Yes it extends range.

  • Ok. So basically it connects to the basic router via Wi-Fi and then emits its own Wi-Fi increasing the range of your Wireless Network?

  • Yes, and you also can have the ability of ethernet with the second router too.

  • Thats pretty cool. Even though I dont need to increase the range its still cool to know that is possible. Also explains why everything in both routers need to be exactly the same.

  • @razor005 If you have a proper router with proper loaded firmware then yes, you can increase range, i have a WRT54GS with DDWRT firmware, i have mine overclocked and increased the mW from 70 to 251, i get great signal to play on xbox live and never gives me problems, this is over 750' away, through walls and glass, no special antennas, just a fan mounted on the top and heatsinks to keep things cool, plan on building a biquad for it.

  • 20ms latenci

    11.9mb/s download

    0.48mb/s upload

  • ok thats cool cool video

  • 5 stars

  • ph so your back then

  • Very nice. I should do that.

  • It's pretty sweet man!

  • @manic322 hello. Its been a looong time since I did this, even though I still use this configuration. Im sorry, but I dont remember which tutorial I used.
