He tested positive for banned substances in 2004. He originally finished 3rd but because of the test he was disqualified and given a ban. He agreed to go to rehab and the ban was lifted. He came back and won in 2005.

I see that this is an old post but Mariusz was disqualified for cocaine, not steroids.
Pfister is one of the very very few (2-5) major-league strongman competitors that hasn't used steroids (Magnus Samuelsson being another that has won WSM).
