One 2lb joint of whale meat
4 dl red wine
2 dl water
2 dessert spoons of black currant cordial, cream, cornflour.
Brown the joint on all sides in a stewpan, add the red wine, and water. Simmer under lid for about 30 minutes. Place a weight on the lid. Remove the meat and wrap it in aluminium foil while finishing making the gravy.
Gravy: Add the black currant cordial to the juices in the pan. Add cream to taste and thicken with cornflower. Cut the meat in thin slices and serve with potatoes

I don't know much about whale killing but i do know that weapons like spears and a other metal things i dont know the name of it sorry.
but tools like a simple whaling knife and a hook is used thats what i know of. knife is too cut the spinalcoreds killing them in a matter of seconds(5-8 sec) and the hook is too pull the dead whale on shore. then cut and shared to the people.

1. The whales are not about to be extinct.(fact: we kill around 0.1% of them each year, and the re-produce 1.8%)
2. We don't go out looking for them. we hunt them when they pass by the islands.= they live a normal life instead of being brought up at a farm in cages and what not.(Fact: many cows are purposly overfed to get fat til their legs break, thats mean)
3. We try to kill them as quick as possible to spare them pain
4. And it keeps the nature in place.

Well, the accurate fisherman can maybe do the quick kill but in all the vid I saw you can easily see it take more than couples of minutes. I don't think the vid on youtube are from the 70's.
