  • he is real heros

  • great yaar thanks

  • Badly sung, bad pronunciation, and remove the pic!!

  • this translation is completely wrong, he is not saying that, nafs do not means pulse and the word NAFS is described in quran and there are three types of NAFS. again this is NAFS not NABZ

  • Brother, depending on the context, "Nafs" could have various meanings, and meanings of words borrowed from Arabic or Farsi often times changes in Urdu and Punjabi. Nafs in everyday language could mean soul, breath, essence, or self.

  • i know 1 sufi who is real muahhad, his name is HAZRAT AHMED ALI LAHORI rahmatullah alaih.. if u prove any wrong aqqedah about HIM i challenge..il cut my head.dnt ever say "saare sufi" again.abd be afraid of Allah.enemy of auliya ALLAH is enemy of ALLAH.

  • yes it is nafs (ego) singer is from india so he took it wrong as nabaz (pulse) the real word is nafs

  • You are absolutely right.

  • i always thought the word nafs meant ego, fighting ones ego.

  • Bullah shah used word Nafs which mean inner self ... not Nabz which means pulse.

  • havy too havy

  • that si the real truth of our lives think by yourselves GREAT

  • the last line:

the one who sits at home, you have never held!

That's the closest to the ultimate truth you can get in this existance!

  • Absolutely Fantastic increadible voice - Translation of Bulleh Shah is very difficult and i am sure Freedom would never knowingly mis-translate.

  • "You never observe your own pulse"? where's this translation coming from? "kaadhi NAFS apna naal lardi-ai'nai" translated would be "You've never struggled with your own SELF/PSYCHE

  • i think a better translation from nafs is soul. as in you have fought with the demons, but you've never fought against your own soul. soul in this sense being temptations or vice. deep.

  • Nafs is pulse, for example your heartbeat, that the doctor feels for in your wrist. But in Sufi writing words often have deeper meanings. Pulse, throbbing, vibration also can signify life force. And yes, he is basically saying you can take your physical form to temples etc, but you have never focused your inner-self towards God!

  • MikkaSingh, NAFS is not pulse, its more equal to SOUL. The word NABZ (nabaz) is pulse :)

  • The root word is the same, but obviously words and meaning can change from region to region. And there are many dialects from Punjab, so there will be variances in spellings and exact meanings. At the end of the day, what these words try to describe is the unchanging, unending truth which is within us all.

  • "At the end of the day, what these words try to describe is the unchanging, unending truth which is within us all."

    I agree :)

  • The soul is divine, it does not have any vices or temptations. The mind is the one that is steeped in arrogance, not the soul. And unfortunatley, in this day and age, the mind is the only non-physical part of ourselves that most people choose to acknowledge.

  • Just awesome!
