  • the awkward moment when you leave a comment on a video and come back a few months later and its in the top comments.

  • Now I associate the Devil's Galop with Python...

    and Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar.

  • 4 people were found gillcup

  • well i wasent expecting the ''oh bugger''

  • Now come on girls

  • The Spanish Inquisition: Best episode of the entire series (least to me)

  • NOBODY EXPECTS... oh bugger!

  • Cleese and Palin may be the most famous but Graham Chapman will always be the #1 Python in my book (of course they're all brilliant.)

  • "Brian Phelps!"

"No no no, he was a diver!""

    "Esther Williams then!"

"No, don't be silly, how can you find someone 'not esther williams'?"

  • This jest would be not so funny if there wouldn’t be the wrangling of the two judges and the Pythons should have scrapped the word guessing and focused more on that, as an satire of the highhandedness of modern judges; but the jest is utterly saved when the judge in charge says that he is going to emigrate to South Africa in order to get some decent sentencing done, because in England he can only impose life imprisonment and that’s hardly worth getting up in the morning.

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar

Mabey but then it'll get too preachy. and besides thats not how python worked it was mostly nonsense with occasional satire and even then it was a parody of satire. It was an awsome scene with the judges but lets leave it there, any more may have it not age well in my opinion.

  • @Dgoosh1000: I have realized the twisted nature of the Pythons, too; and I think their tendency for nonsense often does ruin their best ideas.

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar

This is comedy gold! Court charades is a brilliant idea, and the nonsense and spontaneity is one of their greatest strenths.

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar looks like perhaps you should watch something like "only fools and horses" or "porridge" instead

  • @gietek: You do not sound like a tough grizzled old soldier but some kind of dandified nancy-boy, who is afraid of wars and you are indubitably no sea-dog but the sort of pasty landlubber I have always despised. I'll warrant, the most exciting thing that has happened to you limpid prawn in a whole year, was the day when you forgot to put sugar in your porridge!

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar anything else?

  • @gietek: Well, yes, you see your comments here say that you are an extremely dull person. You see, they describe you as an appallingly dull fellow, unimaginative, timid, lacking in initiative, spineless, easily dominated, no sense of humour, tedious company and irrepressibly drab and awful.

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar don't give me that posh talk you nasty stuck up twit

  • @gietek: Has anyone ever told you that you are a giggling imbecile?

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar No. Are you expecting me to be touched by your idiocy?

  • @gietek: I cannot tell: the world is grown so bad that wrens make prey where eagles dare not perch.

  • this needs to be put in a phoenix wright parody ASAP

  • Hahahahahahaha charades during real life court cases would make it more exciting and put a bit of humour in it :D

  • I hate the "(C) PYTHON (MONTY) PICTURES LIMITED 1970" part because it means the show's over. :(

  • "Brian Phelps" brilliant!!!

  • monty python was the king at returning jokes

  • i love when the sketch was ruined for me by the comments with the most thumbs ups.

  • How can you find someone Not Esther Williams!

  • I love the charades....

  • eric is quite good at this

  • "No no don't be silly, how can you find someone not Esther Williams!" XD thank you for uploading :)

  • Nobody expects that spanis - Oh bugger!... XD Best part.

  • 4 ppl always expects the Spanish Inquisition...

  • "The accused, milord, sentenced her to be taken from this place and brought around to his place." LMFAO

  • ...Peaches Barkowitz and Billy Jean King were later tried at Wimbledon`s centre court and were sentenced by the line judges to be hanged by the net until dead.

  • Oh, bugger!

  • I'd like to call that exhibit A.

  • I think that's my favorite Monty Python's ---

    Oh bugger

  • NOBODY expects the -- oh bugga

  • I'm not Esther Williams.

  • Bird? :D:D

  • Call Exhibit Q, Q!!, I'm sorry did I say Q? I meant A Calling Exhibit A

  • I love that the old woman says only one ridiculous word.

  • THATS IT - IM OFF !!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I'll be honest .... I didn't expect The Spanish Inquisition :P

  • not gilcup!

  • "No no no, don't be silly - how can you find someone 'not Esther Williams?'"

this is one of my favorite sketches. :D

  • 4 people FAIL at guessing games.

  • nobody expects th-, o bugger

  • Nobody expects!--o bugger

    XD i love monty python

  • o bugger

  • not gillcup lol not esther williams lol

  • These guys were absolutely out of their mind! John Cleese was one of the best straight men in the business ever!

  • How can you find someone "not Esther Williams?"

  • Brilliant! This a absolute brilliant!

  • Hahahaha OMG! 2:47 - 2:55

  • I love it when the mood changes from charades to dead serious when the clerk calls the next defendant. :P

  • The music is 'Devil's Gallop' by Charles Williams, originally a piece of mood music from the BBC library that was used for a radio serial called 'Dick Barton - Special Agent' in the 1940s, and which virtually everyone growing up in England at the time would recognise. It is frequently used to parody thrilling chase sequences.

  • If only there was a "Love" button...

  • @Meeshers816 Everyone's got a "love" button, the challenge is in finding it- oh wait, you meant on youtube. Sorry.

  • @SnakeTheFox Your comment made my day! XD

  • "Nobody expects the Spa... Oh, bugger!"

    I couldn't stop laughing!

  • not gillcup :-)

  • Quick, easily missable gag when they first get on the trolley.

  • @QuikVidGuy "Two - er - THREE - for the Old Bailey please" ... need to have seen the rest of the Inquisition sketches to understand the in-joke!

  • I love the music monty python use

  • Comment removed

  • @jacksawild No, I dont think so. I know that piece, and I find it different. Maybe others agree with me, and thats why your comment got the spanish inquisition, and now deleted.

now im curious what is that music...

  • @PMagisterus haha.. sorry, I realised I made the mistake as I sent it (I said it was bumblebee btw). I know this piece of music, and as soon as someone says it I'll remember but I'm drawing a blank right now. I keep on going back to Wagner, but I'm not sure that's right. It might be one of the Planets but I don't think so. ARGHHHHHHH

  • Now that is pure, mad genius :) I

  • "Nobody expects the Spa... oh, bugger."

    Classic.

  • Like the mad trial in Alice in Wonderland

  • "Nobody expects the sp- oh bugger."

  • this is random, but this appears to be filmed in technicolor and not the usual eastman stock. am i correct?

  • Wait, it says in the credits that Terry Gilliam did the animations too. Is that true?

  • Absolutely. In fact he started as an animator for MP.

  • watch the Al Jazeera interview with Terry Gilliam!

Everyone watch it its awesome if you like MP!

He explains his life and work its worth it!

  • Is there any doubt that Monty Python`s Flying Circus were geniuses who were well ahead of their time? They did for comedy what the Beatles did for rock`n`roll music , which was to breathe new life into an art form that had become stale . God bless Monty Python!!!!!

  • lol

    "hurry, its the producer!"

I just noticed that the producer always comes at the end of any credits lol

you gotta love monty python XD

  • Quite a social commentary here. "The court system is a charade!" Certainly true here in the U.S., and (from what I've heard) in Britain.

  • or it might just be funny

  • Nah, the Monties usually hid some critique in their sketches.

  • Comedy gold.

  • the ending is perfect if you've seen the spanish inquisition sketch.

  • Nice use of integration of skits that was.

  • GUILCUP!

  • The best I can manage here is life imprisonment. Hardly worth coming in in the morning...

  • Apparently they got into trouble for saying 'oh bugger' at the end of that ep.
