Why are people in MKP so.....lazy about the characters they make?

Instead of wasting space by putting in like 25 Sub-Zeros, they should make it to where there is one of each character with an option of pressing a certain button to toggle between their cross-version outfits. For example, keep UMK3 Scorpion and give him his MK1 & MK2 appearances as alternate costumes. He will do only his UMK3 combos, but can do his old leg takedown move and the spear slice fatality from MK2. In this case, Sub-Zero will probably end up with the most fatalities.
