Do a google search for swing dancing in your community. Many larger cities (and some smaller ones too) have weekly dances to music from the 30-50's with this type of dancing... and most will give you a free lesson before the dance. Search on youtube for "Lindy Hop" to see more amazing dance moves.

This was the intro the very first Le Roc/Ceroc modern jive teaching video I ever bought. The lady providing the actual teaching is Christine Keeble, who's excellent. Modern jive has since evolved along rather less jitterbugish lines but the moves taught in the video remain essential fundamentals.

Yes Woodface you ars 100% correct this is very close to 50's rock and roll. Modern jive footwork is very simple walk walk walk walk, easy to learn, easy to teach, but lacking in energy but all dancing is good beats being a armchair athlete.
