Anyone who feels like a child born with Down's is not perfection is crazy. I find it very offensive the way people freak out about Down's, test for it like crazy and constantly reassure others everything will be fine, don't worry, you won't have one of those ghastly Down's kids.....it is sad. All of you who keep assuring Nic that her baby will not be born w/ Down's and will therefore be perfect are being very narrow. I don't mean this against Nic and Ian, they haven't said anything.

Congrats! I don't know if having a midwife means having a natural or waterbirth in the uk but I prefer it. I'm preg as well (25 weeks) and I plan on having a waterbirth here in the states! Prenatal care is more personal and longer appointments with a midwife. :)

I'm so excited for you guys!!! I went through the scare of possible downs, with my youngest son.....his nuchal fold was very enlarged. I had all the testing done, except for the amniocentesis. I was told we had a 1 in 5 chance our son would have downs. I was 43 when he was born and he came out PERFECT!! No issues at all. =)
