I've heard this being called waterworld too... lol but its my all time favorite thing ever! :) Seriously, I could probably fall asleep to this music.. but then again in a way it gets me pumped up, like I should play some N64... :)
Back before I played games to beat them, but rather to just to explore the levels, I would always go to Dire Dire Docks. I always loved the music, and level setting. It was so calm and peaceful. I wish there really was a place like this on earth.
I have lots of great memories of playing this with my dad on Saturday mornings.
I don't dislike the game now but I've played through it quite a few times and sadly enough its time for me to move on. Thanks Mario 64 its been a blast. Long live Nintendo ;)
Oh man the nolgista of playing this game and having not a single care in the world... I love this wonderful songs... Forget call of duty, modern warfare, and all those lame games, Nintendo used to be so good at making music and all of the storyline... The wonderful times...
This song was made with FL Studio. It has way too much of a generic "made with FL Studio" sound to it and that's what annoys me about it. You could at least TRY to make it not sound so much like FL Studio.
I was playing this the other day, and then I suddenly realized this game came out 14 YEARS AGO. I'm only a sophomore in college, but that made me feel really old :(
@VeNoM5478 Fear not my friend! Even you have Nintendo classics such as Metroid Prime 1 and 2 and 3! The Super Mario Galaxy titles, and on the PS3, titles like Little big planet, and the more recent 3D Game Dot Heroes.
@ned4000 i bought a 360 last year it red ringed and i just dont want it to get fixed. my n64 is still standing strong since the day i got it which i cant remember
@who8mahbacon XBox 360 has the Red Ring of Death, PS3 has the Yellow Light of Death, and, hold up, the Wii has NO lights of death, nothing that will make it crash, and NO system errors or extreme bugs (Same with the GameCube, N64, & SNES).
Its sad how I'm 17, and I remember all thse games and such. Recently I had to explain a lot of how the old N64 games worked and what they were like to my 10 year old cousin, who grew up not knowing what it even was... I feel old, but I love the feelings I get back from hearing the music. I say they need to bring back the plots and games how they used to make them. Back in the day when games weren't just good, they were amazing.
God I miss this. I know im only 13 but, I mean the games we have don't seem to care about the music. I mean Mario 64 and Donkeykong Country 1,2,3 and 64 had like the best soundtrack ever! As well as zelda games. Now games don't really care about music. Compare Mario Galaxy music (Im Not saying it's a bad game) to Mario 64's Dire Dire Docks. Personnaly I like Dire Dire Docks more than anything Mrio galaxy made.
Dont want to pay? If you have a usb cable controller, get an emulator for hte n64 and download the Super Mario 64 rom on your computer!
Trust me...Super Mario 64 is anything but dead. Look it up anywhere, they still sell the original copy for the n64. I think its the only n64 game still being sold for the n64.
i agree with darkmatterdoom games old games like this were meant for being young wen the game was like 4 times the adventure....... i miss those days and you found the fun of the smallest things like playing with the fish with the glasses or riding the turtle shell. i miss being a child
I remember when I was 4 i accidentally erased my bros game which had all of the stars lol. even thought I was 4 i loved the 64 soo much though i would always hold the controller upsidown. makes me wish i was that young again not a care in the world. *sigh*
I wish I was young again too. Sure, you can replay these games with the cartridge, the VC, or an emulator, they never get old, but it just doesn't have the same feeling as when you first played it.
Wise words my friend and well said. I couldn't have said it better my self. The first time is always going to be golden, it always keeps you on your toes as of what is going to happen next. AHHH the golden days...how we all miss them so much.
Yeah but the nostalgia man, back when you were 5, 6, 7 years old when you didn't have a care in the world, just playing your game, and following along with your imagination.
Seems corny I know, but you know that feeling, you wish you could go back to that time.
Man.... ur soo right. It scares me a bit but thats 100% the feeling i have in the moment Oo... I <3 Mario64, i <3 Dire, Dire, Docks! I <3 the good al' times. Playing that, forgetting everything around ya.
@TimothyGatewood Yes, it would be nice to not have to worry about the problems of the world. Inner peace, outer peace. You could be anything then. No exception here.
@TimothyGatewood Then what if you COULD!? WHAT if you'd just set all the things away for a LITTLE BIT OF FREE TIME playing this game. Back to the nostalgia while you can in the weekend. Wouldn't that feel good? Just to get a bit of your free time back? Got no time? Make time! You can just replay the games you used to play all over again for the fun of everything. Like Super Mario 64, Super Mario RPG, Zelda etc. etc. Just play em for the fun of it all =)
@TimothyGatewood Too bad I was born in 2000, I first played a N64 when I was 8. I was like Wow! This is sooo awesome! Than like 2 years after that, my dad said "Check out that arcade". And I said "Why?" He said "try it, it has pac man and lot of nostalgia games." and I tried it. It was awesome! I even got a SNES for Christmas! I'm not a huge fan of COD and Halo... I'm 10 now...almost 11...
@MegaGhidorah ahh dude, i was like 8 when i played this game... this was the BEST ever... this was the reason you bought an N64... two controllers, diddy kong racing all for like 120 bucks... today you'll never get a deal like that
Playing Super Mario World and Mario Kart 64with my cousin... when I was 6... it's just in Mario Kart, you'd race off the track to see what the rest looked like... but now yu just, I don't know, race. In super Mario World, you just don't play catch with Koopa Shells anymore. I miss them too, my friend.
i never realy liked this song on mario because it used to make me nearly cry for some reson but mario 64 best mario game of all time nuffin can beat it
I agree with you both guys/girls.. Its so beautiful.. I cannot stop think about in the end of the story of Mario..After he defeats Bowser.. It is so beautiful..And old Story that no one should forget..Mario has been the good character of all young kids and it should continue that way =) .Oh how i love this song..I just want to fly upon the sky..And look on earth like it was peace.
