I had this guitar and I traded it in for a Epiphone les paul custom.

I like the les paul but I miss the Jackson. Very fast neck and comfy to play. You could really shred on those things, especially on the higher frets (not so with the paul).

Sold it because I have an ibanez, ltd flying v, and needed a guitar that wasn't SO metal.

Can someone help me?? I'm going to buy my second guitar and i've narrowed down my choices to 3 guitars: Ibanez RG350DX, Schecter Demon-6 FR and Jackson DX10D. I've heard good and bad things about all of them, that licensed floyd rose isn't good and edge 3 is a bit better than licensed floyd rose, i honestly don't have a clue. When I have the spec sheets in the table i feel that probably the jackson is the best and probably it will be the one that i'll buy but i wonder if it is really the best.

Don't get the Schecter Demon-6 FR. it looks to bland. Really.

Get either the Jackson DX10D or ibanez RG350DX.

Both of those two guitars are Good. Very Good.

Plus the iBanez has Two Pickups and one Coil.

@elpepedepepes IDK, I bought the RX10D (Australia) which is the same guitar with a Rhoads body and I paid $970 (Australian) which the very nice people at Allans music took down from the original price of $1100

I would highly reccomend you buy it if you can afford it. :D

hey WMS i got a quesiton....my guitar is the eact same as this guitar....exact same....but mine has a little switch behind the farthest back volume knob...when i switch it...it cuts off all sound...and plays normal when i switch it back...can you explain what that is?

@insidethefire1 I'm guessing thats a kill switch.. Just a guess though. This cuts out all noise, pretty much an on off switch for your guitar.

@Bobby36594 i looked it up and its actually a seymore duncan gain boost, basicly its a kill switch when i flip it, its on my dinky x series and the guitar was dis continued in 2006, thats why its kind of rare to see them

I have the dkmg and its definitely better and I agree with you. But of course this guitar is aimed towards people with a lower budget. If youre on a tight budget then this guitar is great and has all the basic things you will need.

This guitar is great for intermediate players..but the Floyd Rose is a pain in the butt. Most local music shops charge over $50 (USD) to adjust a Floyd Rose to larger size strings. Other than that, you can get a pretty decent tone out of the Duncan Designed pickups if you are using a high gain amplifier or Solid State.

Hey everybody, mid price Ibanez vs mid price Jackson? Are there any distinct differences between the two, other than sound of course. I don't want to spend 600+ dollars and regret my purchase later. I've had a $100 Squire for just over 14 months and I feel my playing has exceeded the capabilities of the instrument. I want something way faster, and much more well built.

I'd take the jackson, if I were you. I prefer the licensed floyds you get on Jackson's mid range guitars to Ibanez's own Edge 3 tremolo system, which feels a bit unnatural. Ibanez's Wizard necks generally have an incredibly skinny neck profile which makes shredding easy. However, I prefer the chunkier Jackson necks, purely because they're more comfortable and the greater density of the wood builds sustain (or so I'm told).

main difference is pickups and wood type, most mid priced ibanez's have a basswood body whereas jacksons tend to have alder, tremolo sydtems- jacksons have lisenced floyd rose's wheras ibanez has edge3 Many mid priced jacksons have duncan designed pickups/jackson electronics, maybe some actual seymor duncans and ibanez have usualy infinity pickups or dimarzio/ibz -in terms of playabilty that is very subjective but most ibanez's (RG) in particular have extremly thin necks, thinner than jacksons

Ive played both ibanez and jackson around the $600 range and all i can say is that ibanez has skinnier necks, but for some reason mine doesnt have a tremolo and is neck thru, but jackson has a thicker neck and isnt neck thru, also has a tremolo. but i gaurantee you wont be dissapointed from either one.
