@Halofreakanoid With regard to the Rose, or in general? In general, I know he describes both -- there's lots of variation he gives. For the Rose, I don't recall any instance of using the flat -- but I think the important thing to consider is: just because he doesn't say it, doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. Lots of interesting things get discovered by trying stuff -- and I personally don't assume Meyer (or anyone) wrote down every single possibility.

What does Meyer say about blocking, in terms of whether you should used the blade or the strong of the flat to block attacks?
