  • Thisa is amazing...his voice is amazing ... wonder why he didn't have a career in classical music re

  • There is no one like the incomparable Adam

  • He should record a duet with Josh Groben or Andreé Boccili (spell?).

  • @aquafina2u that has crossed my mind too ~

  • Adam, you had me at "because they told me"

  • Flawless. Perfect. Magnificent. Bravo Adam Lambert !

  • This song seems made for Adam; it shows off his range, his acting skills (ever try to speak with a Scottish Broagh?) and the quality of his voice. Thx for posting it; I enjoyed it a lot. -^..^*-

  • @terpsichoreankat I've been trying for 44 years

to speak like an American, but the Scottish brogue is still there. I manage

fine, and people know what I'm saying, it's just that strangers will always

ask me, "Where do you come from?" .Sometimes, I'll mention another State. haha..

  • what a good version of this song!

  • He is the only one who does justic to this song.

  • @TheEriskay my mother & aunt sing opera & my aunt was in Brigadoon in the past; they say Adam does this better than any others ever ~

  • He is so great!

  • I love this song, and Adam does it sweet justice. I'm sorry he didn't go into musical theatre. What a lovely voice.

  • so beautiful!!Adam Lambert can sing anything!! His new single is called"Better than I know Myself".I love it,too.Maybe someday,Adam could put out an album with songs from Broadway plays....like Fantom of the Opera,Brigadoon,etc,etc..Now's not the time, but maybe in the future..

  • WOW! i was just in Brigadoon this past summer as one of the featured dancers, and loved doing the show, it is a beautiful, beautiful musical. Adam does such a great job at this song. this is a tough song!

  • Wow, I had never seen pictures where I know for sure Adam is only 22! I have seen videos of slideshows of Adam pictures, but nothing saying anything like, "Adam is 22 years old here". This is amazing. Adam Lambert was born to sing, born to perform, a true natural talent. Thank you for the beautiful video.

  • per. fec. tion. xo

  • Do you have an extra lung hiding somewhere? You never cease to lift me to a better place. Who else has the hability to sing rock and classic? I don't see Tyler or Simmons being able to sing this, and I don't see Boccelli singing rock.

  • What a beautiful, beautiful voice...

  • he's so amazing. Silence, haters.

  • Truly breathtaking. Once again he has blown us away with his incredible range and ability to sing anything. His versatility is standing him in good stead and we can't wait for his new album to show us more of his amazing voice.

  • one of the best male singers in many years. Superstar*

  • Adam Lambert can sing anything!Wake up America ! We are so lucky to have him, take note Queen an World Audiences have discovered this talent!Yes I am a fan but what the hell how could you not be . ..... these vocals are amazing!

  • this man is incredible nobody else i have ever heard can sing like our adam

  • Wow hard to beleive its the same guy who sang with queen, can sing.broadway and rock

  • This is unbelievble <3

Adam ur the one after Mickael Jackson <3

I love u Adam with every beat of my hearT <3

  • This is live. This is perfection. This is why Brian May and Queen asked Adam Lambert to sing with them again.

  • Blows me away every time I listen.

  • fuck he's so diverse !! freakin incredible

  • Great stuff!! And he was just phenomenal rocking with Queen at the MTV EMAs last Sunday. And he's great singing sexy funky dance tunes too ;)

    His future is golden!

  • I love Adam Lambert. He rocked it with Queen last night.

  • I love love love this recording! I can't stop listening to it...but a couple of his long notes at the end(while incredibly impressive-go adam! Woo!) Pull me out of the meaning of the song, and I think I would perfer the song without the 12-minute-long notes.

  • @1broadwaystar I'm assuming you realize this is a live performance (vs studio recording). If only there were a video of this stage performance by Adam to watch what he was doing while he was singing. A long time ago someone who worked in this show with Adam posted that when Adam sang this, it was so beautiful, everyone stopped what they were doing backstage just to listen to him. I love the long notes. Amazing breath control. His lungs must go on forever. :)

  • This song is so perfect for his voice :) I would've loved to see him play Charlie Darymple from Brigadoon

  • Lovely amazing singing from the heart

  • Lately adam has been getting alot of recogntion for his vocals, people, media are now acclaiming the greatest vocalist of this generation, lambert is the best singer "alive" today. Truley a phenomena, watch him go to a all new level with his second album

  • @3ku1 Without a doubt..the BEST male vocalist in the industry today. And really easy on the eyes too! ;D <333

  • @queenrosered1 Yeah the vocals part haha, Im a very straight guy but Adam is a good looking guy I can see why chicks are into him haha, I got no hang ups! But yeah He has this innate feel about him, like regardless of the training, he was born to perform, truley a phenomena. It may be too early, I am only in my early 20's but he may be the most talented artist in about 30 years, and thats not me being biast cos im a fan, being objective he is.

  • Theres a photo on the internet somewhere of Adam backstage during this show with him and George Bush Sr and Barbra Bush Loll

  • His voice is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.

  • I would love to hear Adam Lambert sing this song a Capella.

  • The best singer EVER on American Idol? ---> Adam Lambert

    The proof starts at 3:20.

Who has that much breath control AND gorgeous tone? Insanely good voice!!!

  • Adam should so totally do phantom of the opera-playing the phantom, or course!!!

  • wow, he sounds just like an Irish tenor in this song! LOL.....though he's not Irish

  • Chills up and down and all around--every single time I hear this. Thanks @theBestArts for your channel. I return to it again and again.

  • Would love to see him in Phantom of the Opera. What a fantastic voice.

  • This is a superb version of the Lerner & Loewe song; how could anyone possibly not like it.

  • This is about the 100th time I've come back to this video.Such beautiful, clear notes and diction. I wait for him to sing"lips", so crisp and finished.Every word and note perfect. His breath control is astounding and fascinating.I find myself holding my breath for it and almost forget to breathe at the beauty of it. I wonder if he has any idea of how incredibly good he is. I'm stunned at his talent and how he lives and breathes each song so masterfully. He's like an electric shock!

  • @funbunn40 WELL SAID! Although I love the popular music he's doing now, I so hope that after he has a few Platinum records under his belt, he will treat us with an album of some of the oldies like he did on AI, some from musical theater and even some gospel - they can be so beautiful and show off his fantastic voice so well. But no matter what he chooses to treat us with, I'm always happy to listen and be mezmerized by Himself.

  • @SabCatxB I also would love for him to do an albums as you mentioned. His voice is so well trained and he has the ability to do it alland maybe will at some point in time, but the industry almost forces an artist to choose and stick with a genre until that are universally and well on in their career to have that freedom.

  • you know how you go to your kids' recitals and you have to stay until the end because that is good manners, as agonizing as it may be. Well, it was easy for us a BBYT because we knew at the end it would be Adam Lambert's turn. It was worth it!

  • he should be in opera....I think he has that technical ability

  • Voice of the heavens~perfection

  • The voice of an angel, God it just gives me CHILLS,an American treasure, wish more would appriciate this amazing talent!!!

  • wow. Just...wow.

  • finally found the song i want played at my funeral

  • According to Adam he never had any advanced vocal training, he started at 18 but finished at 20. He said when you have training its gets too robotic and forced, you cant express or feel the song. So this with general two years vocal training at 22, also his operah training was more related to broadway was specefic. The fact his family is Liberals comes no surprise, hence the reason for his amazing stage presense

  • @3ku1 Please get your facts right before posting. Adam has had advanced vocal training. He studied opera as a teen. I don't know the exact date he started 'voice' lessons but his mother said it was after he hit a jaw dropping note in a youth theatre production of 'Fiddler on a Roof' when he was about 12. So he had about 8 years of vocal training.

  • @Mymelodyize Adam started vocal lessons at age 10 (See his original voice teacher on VH1 Hollywood Story done on Adam last year) and, per an interview, Adam said he had 12 years vocal training with operatic training during teen years. Adam & his mother were talking about that jaw dropping note in Fiddler in an interview when he was still on Idol. I'm thinking it was the one the Russian sings when he jumps up on the bar during the rowdy L'chaim that floats up & over everybody, gaining their attn.

  • @3ku1 I never heard Adam say any of that. Indeed, he said he sang "light opera" in his early 20's. He was in theatre training at age 8, vocal training by age 10. It's because of his fabulous vocal training that his voice is as strong & versatile as it is. Not only is Adam a tenor, he can sing in countertenor range. YouTube My Conviction. Knowing a little about opera helps you appreciate how amazing Adam's singing ability is. Opera is ANYTHING but robotic & forced. That would be rap. :)

  • @KentuckFan yeh your probably right haha, but im just saying what Adam said in an interveiw with Rolling Stones. The interveiwer asked did you have any vocal training? Adam replied I had some when I was 18 then finished at 20, I realised that the training was making me sing a certain way, and when your sining it is alot about emotion. They could of editied it of course, but it definately came from Adam Lambert. I persoannlly beleive Adam was born with a gift in terms of his voice, alot of

  • cont.... Alot of people including me beleive he had a gift at such a young age, and that advanced vocal training in tenor and countertenor just gavve him the skill to hone that gift, hence why today he has such incredible range and versatility. It basically just gave him an understanding and a skill on how to use that gift (voice) of his. Being an artist is not all about voice, and more then the voice, he has showmanship, supreme confidence, eccentric sound not since freddie, personality,

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I am a freelance writer doing an article on glam rock and in discovering Adam and his vocal abilities, found myself speechless when I played this. His talent was long apparent to anyone who was familiar with him prior to Idol and to those of us who now cannot seem to live without his voice in our lives, finding recorded performances like this are like opening buried treasure. Brigadoon has long been a favorite and it is now more so.

  • @udxcorgi1 I would like to give your post a thumbs up but can't find a thumbs up choice for posts for this video.

  • this song had me hooked two years ago and lever let go of me. It brings me to a different level. i think Adams voice can connect at a spiritual level and it passes right through my conciousnes. I am unaware of what it does to me but I like it. Adam's voice neves ceases to take me to a better place. thank you Adam.

  • This is just amazing. Absolutely breathtaking. I just keep coming back to it. Brigadoon was one of the first shows I did as a kid and the music still haunts me. With Adam singing it as it was meant to be sung, there are just no words. Beyond perfection truly

  • Comment removed

  • Exquisite. Absolutely exquisite.

  • @glamorize Adams in the wrong era, if it was the 70's right now i truly believe Adam would be the megasstar not mj or Elvis. I think because the world has never heard a voice like Adams in over 40 years, and were so used to artists autotuning their voices, ppl forget how hard it is to consistently sound amazing live like Lambert, he's a breathe of fresh air

  • he's beautiful, his voice is SO POWERFUL! Best singer of today, by a country mile.DAMN AUTO TUNE ERA!

  • Oh my God , his voice is like satin, gentle and powerful at the same time. Perfect. Love him

  • beautiful.

  • He's just perfect. End of story.

  • But i degrees, as his first hit song wwfm got him a grammys nom. Which he clearly should of wan, it was only politics that got bruno the grammy. But like u said mj had thriller, beat it, black and white etc Freddie had we are the champions (bohemnian rapsiosiday). Adam needs a hit like that, ppl think his next album is going to be the biggest since thriller, big call but with his fan base anythings possible

  • The label Sony has come out and said he's already in mj nd Elvis presley league nd caliber. He's superior in terms of voice, but he needs to revoulinise the music industry. I think out of lady gaga, jb, bruno mars adams the most talented, current, and relevant. I think he's on the verge of mega stardom not seen since Michael Jackson, this is truly also down to hush diverse fan base, but he just needs that little bit of exposure in usa. Like performing at the grammys, he needs a hit song

  • @kentuck fan. True what make Adam so great as i lisin to this peice of vocal masterpiece lol, is that in this day in age of music of auto tuning, he is a breathe of fresh air, a draw back to the 70's where music was sung with such raw emotion. Im only 23, but i know music not what it used to be. Like Elvis did, i think Adam with his voice can single handenly change the direction of music in this generation. I understand in usa Justin beiber has more exposure, but not internationally like Adam.

  • Wow! What a talent!

  • I wish he sang like this all the time. Forget the rock. This is beauty.

  • This is a vocal masterclass on tone, breath control, articulation, and interpretation. And it is LIVE without any electronic tricks or tweaks. As close to perfection as we are likely to hear this side of heaven.

  • Adam stands on his own as far as catagorization. He is definately out of this world. Can't stop loving him. I become more obsessed every day!!!

  • What blows me away about this, is a note he holds effortlessly for 30-35 seconds, that's phenomenal. I saw James durban on idol, well honesty Adams voice makes him seem tiny, he's overhyped. His vocal control and breathe control is incredible, don't attack me for saying this but he might become bigger then any artist of all time. From the beetles, Elvis, mj, Freddie

  • @3ku1 Yes. Adam could be bigger than any artist of all time. To do that he needs authentic, brilliant (vs. catchy) music written for him--like Bohemian Rhapsody or a musical theatre production written just for him. It seems like the Rock part needs to happen with his own band--bouncing ideas off each other (i.e. Freddie in Queen, Jim Morrison in Doors, Beatles, Rolling Stones). To simply be a solo pop artist--not sure how that works or what it even means anymore.

  • This is beyond gorgeous. I realize having just watched Idol tonight that there is no categorizing this artist -- and that's what people can't deal with. So now we have two country artists who can sing pretty much only that and America is happy again. He shoulda sung the opera ;)

  • Adam Lambert is CLEARLY THE BEST AI contestant of all time, and THE BEST male vocalist I've ever heard. This performance showcases his super-human technique and breath-control, and an absolutely stunningly beautiful tone. I also love his rockier voice and performances. Adam Lambert rocks my world! <3

  • Unbelievably beautiful!

  • Help! Somebody please tell me where I can find this to download! :)

  • @moonweaver There are lots of online programs, free to download which convert a video to an audio.

  • i really like to know, how Adams voice sounded bevor the voice -break.that would be interesting too

  • Wow, and here I thought he couldn't get more impressive! With that voice and technique he could sing at the opera as a tenor/countertenor and he wouldn't have any problems with renaissance motettes either. What he does right now is 100% him of course but even more respect to him for being able to sing like that as well.

  • @Trampadoo If you haven't already, there is one more piece you need to hear Adam sing--shows off his countertenor. It's My Conviction (He was 21 yrs. old) in European Tour of Hair. You can YouTube the audio. THAT hooked me forever on Adam's voice. The best male voice I have ever heard. Adam said he had 12 years vocal training, to include some operatic training during teen years.

@jetsat 100 Someone said Adam's vocal training was so good, he may actually retain some of his childhood tenor

  • Needs to do a duet with Josh Groban, singing the Prayer. Both amazing voice, one baratone, one tenner, both strong and absolutely perfect voices !!!

  • Each and every time I hear Adam sing this song it brings tears to my eyes because of the sheer beauty of his clear and perfect vocals. I am waiting for the day when the world is given the opportunity to listen with their hearts to his artistry. They really do not "know" Adam Lambert yet, and as a whole have not given him their full attention. Some day soon perhaps. In the meantime, we have this...

  • I just can't believe the good fortune we have had bestowed on us by the mere presence of Adam Lambert! You see him rocking out & forget that he can sing like this too! Thanks for keeping this up so we can come enjoy! This man (angel) can sing absolutely ANYTHING!! He is the only man I have EVER seen that is the absolute TOTAL package!! Voice that can't be matched & don't EVEN let me get started on his looks, personality, sexiness & amazing humility!! JUST WOW!!

  • He is brilliant!!! A truly amazing voice...

  • OMFG ! Adam Lambert`s voice is so Beautiful !!!!!!

  • I have to revisit this video every so often, what an amazing voice. Adam is the whole package, he has it all, amazing talent, angelic pipes, stunning looks, and especially with this song he shows us a dedication to craft of which few, if any, AI contestants are even vaguely aware.

  • if you like this! check out Ten Commandments! the musical he IS the show!

  • I love it always have! It is Just something Adam has been doing for like MOST of his LIFE! He has been out there! (wowing crowds) just nobody was notice'n till NOW! so TELL a friend! Also Allyson is right there with him! and she was "CurlySue"(remember her)and did Aftermath with him too. there are a Lots in that show that were great !

  • too amazing for words..just hope he doesn't do anything to mar the beauty of his remarkable voice..

  • how is it this vid has not reached the 1 million view mark yet? ITS AMAZING!

  • If I was a radio station deejay I'd play this song every once in a while just to blow everyone's friggin mind.

  • @Kali4nyia That was a great idea you posted four months ago - thanks.

  • Just listen people, listen to the songs and enjoy. Don't argue please...And whoever said he ruined his voice/art/image blabla...... Just Listen and ENJOY! He is the artist and you are the audience. If you don;t like what you hear, then move on to the next artist. DOn;t waste your time here. He is the creator of his art, let him be himself and do what he wants. He obviously can't please everybody and he shouldn't try to cause it is not worth his freedom of expression. Let him express himself.

  • @SuperFreakshow18 Perfectly said!!!! Thank you. Yes, Adam Lambert can sang and I personally love the many sides of his ranging from "naughty" to "nice". So excited about the new cd coming out in the fall. He promised the vocals to be front and center!!!

  • i really like Adam Lambert's voice....

  • OMG i luv the song hes singing OMG!!!

  • It is very rare indeed to have a singer appear on the music scene as such a complete "package" - meaning he has the voice, the look, the attitude and the ability to work and communicate with the public. This is evidence of one absolutely remarkable talent - phenomenally beautiful singing. I can only wish that Adam can find material equal to the beauty of his voice and that he will use his voice wisely as the years roll on. We should have this voice to enjoy for decades to come.

  • Adam - this is why I love you. You have the voice of an angel. That was sublime.

  • @10jcat

Your analysis is spot on. Thank youl

  • somebody would make a fortune! If they had this video of him singing!! come ON! moms and dads somebody had to have got a video of this performance? PLEASE!!!

  • somebody would make a fortune! If they had this video of him singing!! come ON! moms and dads somebody had to have got a video fo this performance? PLEASE!!!

  • @talatzkomom - I don't know about making a fortune, but wouldn't it be great if we could find a video of this? Based on the date, it would probably be on some variant of VHS tape. If anyone has a copy, I'll convert it from VHS to digital at no cost and return them both to you. I'd give you the choice to either post it to YouTube yourself or allow me to do so. This channel is completely non-commercial; I don't make a penny from these videos. I just want to see the vid!

  • @theBestArts

Generally, videos of musical theater performances are prohibited for copyright purposes. When my kids started musical theater in the late 90's, is when they really started cracking down on it and the music industry started paying bounties for people to turn it violators. However, if it is part of a recital, I think there is no problem. I don't htink this was a live performance though. There is no audience applauding.

  • @talatzkomom or a news paper who recorded it for cretizisem ? or the theater ( sorry f my english )

  • @den60adam No video of this live production (He was age 22), but yes--there are newspaper critiques of the show & his performance. Google: Houston TUTS Brigadoon critique and you will find them. One critique said Adam's rendition of Come to Me, Bend to Me was "achingly beautiful". A long time ago somebody who evidently was in the production with Adam commented on this site that when Adam sang this, everybody back stage would stop what they were doing just to listen to him, it was so beautiful.

  • After 2 years I still cannot get my fill of Mr. Adam M. Lambert. This song, esp, makes me tear up. I just love him !!

  • wish he'd sing like this more often...or release a broadway album...this guy has the most beeeeautiful voice when not affected. lovely...simply lovely

  • OMG! THAT WAS SO HARD to sing!!! let see Emenum or Bruno Mars or MJ Or Usurer do THAT!I think not!! now? will the REST of the US see it? the REST of the World knows" just Not the(Bigoted) U.S. is WEIRD!!There is Nobody that can do this!! and America is all about hating him!why ?with the Voice of an angel? so sad!!

  • the voice of the angel.

  • Fabulous voice and all the other stuff that goes with it. Great...

  • WTF this is freaking awesome. I think I am in love with him like, a lot more, than I already did. WTH is he? He should definitely do this once in a while you know.

  • There is no shame in pursuing one's dream and set one's own path. Right or wrong, mistake or not, that's his life. What rights do we have to judge others choices, and tell them what to do or not to do. Let's celebrate the free spirit and not suffocating it.

  • This is where Adam should have stayed-singing legitimate musical theater (it's not opera, but one needs that type of training to sing this). What a shame it seems he has ruined this beautiful voice. Simply a shame. I will be showing my voice students this video as an example of damn near perfection.

  • @courtneygp2 Are you sure Adam has ruined his tenor voice? I'm not so sure he has, but do not know. Thought he was still working with vocal coach. Isn't he about the age (29) when male voices mature?

  • @KentuckFan Adam has a TRAINED professional voice and will always use a vocal coach to make sure he is taking care of it properly, like a Stradivarius.. And he has opera training too. The male operatic voice reaches full maturity at about age 36...so we are all in for many more treats to come! :D

  • @courtneygp2 Adam has in no way ruined his voice!!! I heard him sing live at his last 2 GlamNation concerts in LA in mid-December and, as always, his voice was spectacular, clear, and unbelievably beautiful. Simply astonishing in its quality and in his control of it. I don't know what you're basing your opinion on, but I doubt it is on listening to Adam live. Have you heard his "Acoustic Live" EP released in December? Simply stunning! Take a listen.

  • @courtneygp2 His voice is not ruined at all he is just singing a different style these days. His voice is actualy getting better and better he done a hundred + shows and his voice was even stronger at the end of it than at the start. I believe he would still be able to pull this style of but it is not his preference. You are right about it been damm near perfection though

  • @courtneygp2 I agree this is damn near perfection, but what a puzzle that you think Adam's voice is ruined. To the contrary, Adam's voice is acrobatically stunning. He trained for and delivered THIS performance style, and now he performs vocal styles that are light years beyond his peers and many who have passed before him. Just because you like musical theater does not mean other vocal choices fall into ruin.

  • @courtneygp2 I think you are incorrect. A noted lyric soprano named Angelina Kalahari actually saw Adam live and she is blown away by him and her colleagues are also. She was interviewed by Juneau and Xena. Just do a Google search for "Xena Juneau Angelina Kalahari". She said that he could sing opera if he wanted to. It sounds like you have never heard him sing live.

  • @TheLambertLover

I think your analysis is good. In the 30s there was a popular singer named Kenny Baker -- considered a "crooner," (whatever that means, and the appellation was considered embarrassing). He did Nanki-Poo in a B&W production of The Mikado and he was more than good.

Maybe in popular culture when a performer goes to a different medium and surprises you the performer is cut some slack. Look at Frank Sinatra and his foray into acting.

  • @courtneygp2 Dont worry courtney - Adam can still sing just like this - when he wants to. If he'd stayed in "legitimate" musical theatre he'd still be singing in a chorus trying to scratch out a living recording boring demo sessions for other artists. There is no money in musical theatre. Fortunately Adam has the chameleon-like ability to create a variety of styles with his vocals. At the moment he's doing a rock pop vocal while he builds his career. But he throws in this stuff here and there :)

  • ANGEL!!!

Human is not capable to sing like that!

  • He could sing some serious opera <3 he needs to show this side of his voice to the American Idol audience if and when he goes back to the show

  • EVERYTIME... I get goosebumps!

  • WOW... INCREDIBLE VOICE !!.... for this love ADAM LAMBERT!!!! YOU ARE TRUE MUSIC!

  • BTW -- Does he even take a breath from 2:02 through 2:18? That is amazing voice control.

  • @getout818

    Also 3:21 through 3:43. :)

  • @akinpaws Yeah, actually that part is even more incredible but I hadn't gotten to the end of the song yet! :)

  • Not my kind of music at all, but jeebus is there anything he can't sing?

  • That is truly a voice from heaven.

  • Only a few artists worldwide have sold more than 1 million CDs in 2010. Most people now download music. This guy sold way over 1 million CDs worldwide last year! Amazing feat.

  • HOW can ANYONE dislike this?!??!

    Simply beautiful.

  • Strange, I don't remember this song in the movie.

  • more beautiful every time that I hear it...
