I'm a student at Pueblo Community College, been going for awhile and have found that i really enjoy welding. Ive been going for a little over a year. I'm trying my certs this semester and when I get certified am looking to become a fitter.... Any suggestions? Any advice?

im 17, iv got to a tech school for 3 years, an now they found me a co-op job working in a local factory.... not to sure what i want to do but i want to weld an im not to sure if i should go to a post secondary school and get an associats degree or not? can someone help me out an give me a little direction?

How much do heavy equipment operators working on pipelines make per year? I'm 17 and not sure what to do with my life and need some direction. I am a pretty smart kid, im in AP Physics and Calculus but i really don't want to go to college. I've been operating since i was 10, im not the greatest but im a good listener and im always willing to take advice from someone more experienced. By no means am i your cocky teenager that thinks he knows it all and i have a great work ethic, someone help me.

@AlwaysDigging16 Yeah for the most part you have to really love what you do because those types of jobs pay good, but not THAT well. I'm kind of in the same boat as you, but I'm a bit more of a mechanic than an operator (although I do really enjoy operating heavy equipment). Last year I went to a traditional college, but I didn't do so well because I found a job plowing snow with a skid loader and fixing all the heavy equipment. Now I'm at a tech college while still working as a heavy

@AlwaysDigging16 equipment mechanic and I'm plowing snow this winter again. I love the way my life is now because I can still go out and party, chill with friends, meet hot chicks in their prime, and my homework load isn't as much either because its a tech school. Everyone I know though says get some sort of a degree, even if its only an associates, so I wouldn't reccomend skipping secondary schooling. The way I found my job was just by going to heavy machinery places and looking for jobs

@AlwaysDigging16 it took a while to get hired too, so a lot of the time I would just go to where I work now, meet the mechanics in the shop, and help where I could without pay. I had to show my interest in the job before they hired me and it wasn't easy, but that's the way I think people should get hired anyways- show interest in a job before paychecks start coming. It wasn't easy, and there was a lot of uncertainty, but they saw how I knew a few things here and there and that i was a hard
