  • None of these places are in llanfair

  • And I still can't say it....

  • How many "go's" are there in that word?

  • im welsh and i learnt it in 2 seconds

  • I learned it!!!!

  • She was hitchhiking wrong. Just saying.

  • thumbs up if you can only catch "gogogoch"

  • llanfairpwll is all I can remember plus the 4 l's!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

  • @#$% this!

  • I will attempt to learn this :p

  • Thlan vire pukh gwing ith gog air eich quinn dro bi/uth thlant isilio go go goch. Not hard!!! :D:D:D:D:D

  • Brilliant song and video! I loved it.

  • LOL !

  • I went on holiday to Wales in the summer and I stayed in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. It's such a lovely place and I'm deffinately going to stay there again next year. Now I can say that I've stayed at the place with the forth longest name in the world!

  • @hillashfarm If you want to get technical, it's actually the second longest word in the word, the first being the NZ one lol

  • Very good...

Now check out "Anglesey Paul Damian"....the original "How To Say Llanfair etc" song.

    all good stuff

  • Actually this isn't the longest place name in the world..

    Its actually: Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu

  • @take0a0pint Yes it is.

  • My brain just explode by learning it.

  • do the police has LlanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogochPD written on the side of their car?

  • @hug0leroux i think it may be llanfair pd ? :')

  • @hug0leroux it's a railway station....

  • @hug0leroux

    Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch P.D MOTHERFUCKER, FREEZE

  • it has 4 l's in, eh?

  • i learnt this song when i climbed mount snowdon at primary school should of got a degree!!

  • I got the first two sullables, LLanfair and the last ones llantisiliogogogoch, but can't seem to get the ones in between...................

  • omg i learn , so easy

  • This is awesome, I'm part Welsh (on my dad's side, my last name is Welsh) and this is the only Welsh word I know! I can correctly pronounce the whole thing!

  • What's the name of the song mentioned around 1:32?

  • @musicrover531 Hi there, the song is called YMA O HYD and its by Dafydd Iwan, a famous and fabulous Welsh folk singer.

  • @cybclinic She can't pronounce "yma o hyd" though. She says the "o" as a diphthong like the name of the letter "o" in English, which is wrong.

  • lf you can't say it, just say Llanfair PG. My friends can only grasp the gogogoch bit at the end, so that's what they call it :)

  • this is too short we have longer than this in kurdistan-iraq

  • I took me a week to say it but now I have it

    Thanks

  • Bloody hell...this is life changing.

  • So many Germans trying to learn this word :) lol

  • I wish I'd remember the name of the gal I met in Bergen who introduced me to this name.

  • Living in wales is so nice

  • Aaah, I want to learn it! But, lol it's so hard D:

  • WELSH FTW like this if you are welsh!<3

  • Dang, that's clever.

  • it's took me like all my life to say this, then i look on this video and i can say it:D!!

i listend to what she said then wrote it down on wordpad in my own way, now i know it:)!

The way i said it : lhanfire pwllgyngith gogeryth quin droborth chlantrosilio gogo goch''

  • @ChaaarlotteJayne The "ll" isn't a "th" You need to put the tongue right up against the back of your top front teeth and blow air through both sides of it.

  • @gariadara

yes i do^_^ i just do a ll instead of th in typing hehe

  • I am proud to live in wales nice nd quiet ... Perfect 4 me! :)

  • i love being welsh:)

  • I want to move here. NOW.

  • whoever invented that name was choking on something and thought it sounded nice...it's so sad U_u!

  • I've almost got it! I made a little "sound-it-out" thing with a piece of paper and a marker. First, I wrote down the word at the bottom of a piece of paper. Then I put little brackets over each phrase and wrote down something easier to distinguish (for me, at least). I got "land fire pshgwingwish go gerick ckwindrobosh antisilio gogogoch!"

Now if I practice I can get it down! It helps to read along to my sound it out phrases while the woman says the word. :))

  • The only problem I have is the "ll" sounds because all the other sounds are easily pronounceable for me. Especially the "ch", considering that a famous Swiss German Shibboleth is "Chuchichäschtli" pronounced with exactly this "ch".

  • yeah! I Learn It!

  • I love your language.

  • Hch-lanwa-r-(b)uch-gwingech-go-gerich-win-rroboch-lante-ßillio-gogo-goch is the closest I (as a German) can get to it, I guess. The fastest and closest one can get to the original sound is when one takes something awfully hot into ones's mouth and tries to talk around it. Yes, I tried it. It works.

  • LOL...brilliant.

I Almost have it nailed as an anglicised ex-pat Scot (and I can spell it from memory !)

    Diolch.

  • There's something wrong with your title... right? ^^ You've spelled: 'wyRndrob' ... the R is not right... right? ^^'

  • @xDeppFreak I'm sorry, the board is not right.. there's no R on the board she's carrying ^^'

  • DIS IS SOME CRAZED CHHOON

  • Thechurchofsaintmarysinthehollowofthewhitehazelneartherapidwhirlpoolandthechurchofsainttsiliosbytheredcave.

    It could be worse :D

  • Three times listening to this song and I can now say it while reading it.

There's no way in hell I'll manage to memorize the word too within any few days.

  • Rename city in GO GO GO!! xDDD

  • Great song! Thanks a lot! I spent few days in bangor and a very nice woman told me about this town and I only understood something go-go-go. LoL. but I wonder... Where to put the stress in this word? It's absolutely crazy!

  • Went here on a People to People trip! It was so amazing.

  • Lovely song! I'm a Geordie, but live in Chepstow with a Valley lass (I know I know). I'll learn this to make fun of the Welsh! ;-)

  • "learn welsh in 3 : 51"

  • my nephew is, like, 6 and he can say it. He's a lil freak tho

  • @nicolajo666 lool ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • Very clever! I'm like the tourist in the song though, and it's taking me a long time but I'm almost there now. And, no place to say it. : )

  • it's funny that welsh people dont really speak that fast. i'm welsh and i went to turkey with a friend a fiew years ago. we met these two scottish girls there and we had to really slow our speach down for them. when me and my mate spoke to each other in our regular speed "in english" the girls thought we were speaking a different language because they couldent understand what we were saying lol

  • they should do lyrics to this song so english people can understand the lls n stuff like tha

  • BENDIGEDIG

  • thankss :) i got it after 2 plays of the video

  • I DID THE FAST PART AT THE END - WAAAAAAAAAAYYY MY LIFE IS COMPLETE :D

  • Thanks a lot, Kristina!

  • wow that's weird xd

  • haha i like the Song :D

i school we sing it .. but its complicadet ;)

  • This is a lovely song, and a good one to learn this loooonnnggg town name :-)

  • WLLLL??

  • En castellano sería como:

    Jlanvairpujlgüinglijlgoguerichuirndrobujljlantisiliogogogoj :D

  • This is how it sounds if you write it the way you say it: Klan-vair-push-guin-guis-gogery-kvan-drobo-klan-tisilio-gogogoch. It makes it alot easier to learn. :)

  • i can say it backwars proud to be welsh

  • I have been contacted by one person stating there is one letter wrong in the spelling of LLanfairPG. Brilliant observation. The sign Lorraine is carrying was until the day before affixed in Cardiff City Centre as a signpost where it had been for many years. It was replaced with a new sign in 2010 having the correct spelling. (i.e. with one letter change) It of course makes no difference to the song!! The sign in Cardiff was one of the most photographed items in the centre.

  • Stopped off at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch for a bite to eat and asked the waitress to pronounce where we were real slow as we're tourists, she said "Buuuurrr......guuuuurrr.... kiiiiiiiinng".
