  • This did not need music, kinda annoying.

  • I really like this video because you didn't edit out problems that arose. Prepares people better for the reality of what they MIGHT run into. GOOD video. Thanks!

  • Dump the music for good verbal instructions! If you are not saving the tub why butcher the wall? Your work is sloppy and dirty, try picking up the debris rather than pushing it around. Use the wrench correctly not backwards!! If you are looking for business I would think this video would discourage it. You did a fairly good job on showing how to release the tub from the plumbing the rest was awful!!!

  • Good video as far as showing you what is going on, but I'd rather have the guy telling me what is going on than the techno music.

  • Thanks, this video helped out! And as for re-using a tub, the whole purpose is to replace it with something new, who cares if it's scratched, it's probably already bad in the first place! Good video!

  • should have the guy telling us what he was doing and dump the stupid music

  • Great work keep uploading more projects..well done!!

  • You should use one of my beats in your next video... holler at me I'll give you some!

  • This might be a good video if it didn't have the awful music.

  • Can't you just take a sawzall to the damn thing? How about a baseball bat and football gear?

  • The tool used to remove the drain is called a basket wrench.

  • tHANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP AND GREAT VIDEO! IT WAS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT I HAD TO REPLACE BUT I WAS ABLE TO REPLACE MYSELF.

THANK GOD FOR YOUTUBE & YOU ALL!

    JENN FROM MD.

  • can't hear what yor saying, cut the stupid music

    \]

  • Best music for bath tub replacement award goes to..........

  • Some one show the man how to use Channel locks. He's using them backwards. Seriously, the direction he's holding them is forcing the jaws open when you twist whatever you're turning. Flip them over and you won't have to squeeze them closed so tight.

  • Holy crap..I had all thes steps completed but couldnt figure out how the heck to get the bathtub out without destroying my wall....he was no help with that obviously. He has the luxury here of beating out the corner of the wall and sliding the tub out. Mine is located about 6 feet down my bathroom wall. And my bathroom is the same width all the way to the bathroom door. So there has to be a different way of getting the tub out of there

  • Thanks for this. Was stuck on the drain. Thanks! Love me some Music Instructor.

  • How to remove, replace a bathtub AT THE NIGHT CLUB? Why not explanation instead of MUSIC.

  • If your not trying to save the cast iron tub, you can also use a sledge hammer to remove it. They break apart in pieces.

  • Where is P-trap for the bath tub they dimolished?

  • This professional is by far the best I've viewed. His instruction has helped me with every project in my bathroom. Why people take the time to write such ignorant, un-informed comments is beyond me.

  • man you dont distroy customer house like that to remove a tub. there is a better way to do it i am 100% sure ok i am sure this was your firs time removing one

  • i think there talking a different language. thats why

  • @causewaycoast09 check out his work at his website!!! this guy is legit.

  • We replacing this tub !! not trying to re-use it...... I am glad i do not have to do project for you....

  • Hi TileMasterGa, I just want to know what's the silver cylinder thingy called. the tool that you used to loosen the drain part. I find your link very helpful and trying to look for that tool to loosen my tub.

  • @causewaycoast09 The tub is obviously crap. and being replaced.

  • @causewaycoast09 haha why the hell would you remove a tub to reuse it?

  • @causewaycoast09 Why would he care if he scratched an old tub that he was pulling out?

  • Great vid

  • Very helpful! Been watching DIY bathroom videos all morning and this one, in video (needed no words!!!!) answered all my questions. Great watching!!!

  • Kill the music

  • why the stupid music

  • lol... trance. is this nessasary?! i think i spelled nessasary wrong... o_O

  • whats the name of the second song please?

  • fantastic video, fantastic music 5 stars

  • What's the tool you're using called, at 1:58?

  • Couldn't remember which side my rubber washer went on. WIN ! THanks. I thought the music was a cool twist.

  • Wow !! you are the best. :)

  • Wow !! you are the best. :)

  • the music is distracting...but thanks for the video

  • good video. Not to bad music either. Despite people not liking the music very informative video though. Not disco. It's more like Euro dance music.

  • the camera too shakes, and not clear

  • It looks like I could have learned something here but I'm not even going to finish watching because I can't here a word over the music. Not everyone has the same taste in music so i wish How to Video's would leave music out. If I want music I would turn on my stereo.

  • Could have done without the weird techno and ads, but thanks for the tips.

  • Clueless !!!!!! why not destroy the whole house to get a steel bath out my granny could have done it faster and with less disruption.

  • do you absolutely HAVE to remove the tile if you want to replace the tub only?

  • <3 the music...good video..

  • This video was so helpful. Thank You. It was self explanatory. Nice music.

  • great video and good music !!

  • with a whirlpool tub that says to put it in a bed of mortar, should you put tar paper between the floor and the mortar?

  • @bullsharkboy i use wonderboard if its a wood floor .. yes to anything like that .. of course i dont mess around 20 yrs ia a plumber

  • Have you guys ever "filled in" the underneath air space with some of the expanding foam insulation stuff that comes in a can (after the tub is secured)? Seems like an excellent way to obtain sound dampening as well as insulation (R-value) around the tub perimeter..

  • Love the dipshits who ask for no music so they can hear what you are saying. == missing such critical info as "now I hit this part with my hammer... now I unscrew this plug,,, now... lift this part" --- These are the same helpless creatures who probably read "do not open here" on the side of their milk carton and then walk into another room in order to open it... Great vid guys. Love the upbeat jams..

  • I wish I could have picked up my tub like that. I have a big cast iron fucking thing. We were going to get rid of it, but there was no way we were going to get it down the stairs, lol. So we're keeping it.

  • @brettdylan0121 break it up with 8# hammer works great

  • @brettdylan0121 you have to break them with a sledge hammer to get them out. It's the easiest way.

  • I was so many other clips, but this video clip was the most helpful. Thanks!! You have a new website fan.

  • Thank You

  • @TileMasterGa less music, more talking.

  • I was so many other clips. but this video clip was the most helpful. Thanks!! You have a new website fan.

  • Thanks for the video , one hint: Clean as you go : )

  • An explanation of what you're doing would be 100x better than the dance music. Anyhow, thanks for the video.

  • @chicagohh AGREED!!!

  • Thanks for the great video.

  • What a hack!!!!!!!!!

  • Are those roofing nails on the tub lip/flange (@ 1:02 minutes in)?

  • gotta love those porcelaim on steel tubs like this. way easier to move than those cast iron monsters

nice vid but the music blows lol

  • @bruteforce76 use an 8 # hammer on cast!! easy money

  • It would be nice instead of retarded music if you actually explained what you are doing. What is the tool you used to remove the drain???

  • @ajcoon the tool is called a "tub shoe wrench" which you can buy at any plumbing supply store including home depot or lowes

  • It is less messy to cut a steel tub in half (or in 3 pieces) with a reciprocating saw and remove it in sections... especially if you are not tearing out the walls but just replacing the tub. A $60 reciprocating saw with a metal cutting blade will cut through a steel tub very quickly. One of my tenants just blew his brains out in his bathtub (RIP) and I had to remove the tub cleanly without destroying the rest of the bathroom.

  • @bolognadetector

    yikes

  • Great video

  • HA HA... thats all i have to say

  • In Soviet Russia, the bathrooms remodel YOU!

Just kidding, thank you so much for showing how it's done! I was really anxious about it. *I* like the music.

  • Just curious about the "replace a bathtub" part of the title...how to level, types of shim material, circumventing consequences of out-of-plumb walls even if the tub is installed level? Thanks

  • U r a master very good work well done str8 from london!!!

  • @TheBlackPlumber these guys are bozo's

  • I don't have that special tool for removeing the tub drain. My wife will be home in two days and this reno has got to be wrapped. Do you have a suggestion other than to purchase the special tool?

  • Ya! Learn how to remove a tub and dance to the funky music.

  • What is the name of the tool being used at 1:46 to remove the drain piece?

  • Where's the "replace" aspect of this??

  • I could do without the music. I could however use a steady camera and some better commentarty.

  • The Ayumi Hamazaki remix background music doesn't fit with this video... but I like it!

  • you make it look too easy. great video!

  • u should cut the music so we can hear what your saying

  • Heavens to Murgatroid! Fascinatin footage! Reminds me of the couple that got married in a bathtub...it was a DOUBLE RING ceremony!!!

  • whats the name of this mix love it yeah dj adam n tha mix LA california

  • I wounder if there is a guy on break dancing on a peace of linoleum some where in this house. lol

  • what is the name of that tool that you used to unscrew the drain?

  • he was using a smart dumbell

  • Forget replacing my tub! I am Headed to the club!!!!! Can't stop this night at the roxbury head bob!!!!!!!!!

  • If your going to throw the tub away anyway cut the tub in half or put a towel on it and hit it with a heavy sledge to break it in half. The sledge will work on castiron

  • never store screws on the tub side when you have open drains...

  • What do you do with the old cast iron tub after you remove it? I'm going to replace mine.

  • It went to dumpster...

  • @TileMasterGa That was not a cast iron tub! Nobody with arms like yours (nor many other) could lift it from the end with the claw of the hammer. Nice try fooling everyone.

  • @Yowzarrific At what point i am saying that this is cast iron tub??? it is lighter iron tub!!! I think you trying to be to smart....

  • An empty cast iron tub weighs about 350 lbs. Let's assume you don't plan to reuse the tub. You can break it into managable size & weight pieces with a small sledge hammer. This is a good opportunity to take out some aggression. Have fun. CAUTION!!! Wear protective eye wear & gloves. The coating will shatter like broken glass. The edges are very sharp.

  • @kayBTR For the benefit of others....it is generally easier to break up an old cast iron tub with a sledge hammer (use eye protection) and carry out the pieces.....that is if you are going to dispose of the old tub. I took mine to the salvage yard (the one that takes old cars).

  • tile guy trying to plumb...try removing the lift n lock correctly.....maybe turn your pump pliers around and use them properly.....and if the sawzal comes out use it one the tub supports ....not the drywall.....save your customers some money

  • The guy pulled that in seven minutes. It will take me seven hours!!!

  • good vid- good music-thanks for posting

  • Why are they playing disco music, when they could be explaining what they're doing. Doesn't make any sense.

  • ???? just watch it, ther is everything - use your brain

  • lol :-)

  • @TileMasterGa i know right, this is better then the books on tape.

  • @TileMasterGa oh shut up...........u peace of shit

  • @Matt110677 Perhaps because good music gets them going. By the way it's not disco music; it's HOUSE or TRANCE.

  • @Matt110677 its not disco , its techno

  • @Matt110677 First of all neither of the songs are disco, first song is Super Sonic - Music Instructor one of the greatest euro break dance songs ever made the second song is techno. Stop complaining and appreciate what people do for others...

oh and by the way.. you can suck me durring any of these 2 songs any day if this still doesn't make sense to you

10 thumbs up TileMasterGa for the awesome music added to this video, reminds me of the good old days in europe
