I respect both beyonce and Ms. Etta James. I feel Beyonce didn't mean to be disrespectful in any way but it may have come off that way. It is right that they should have at least performed the song together to signify Etta's importance to that song that she made famous. I'm sure all of this was just miscommunication and a misunderstanding.

Beyonce is a very classy woman and yes she has songs that are club "bangers" but she also has songs that show her softer side which makes her such a great arist, her ability to do both styles. Though I agree that Etta is a legend, she's still very wrong. A movie could have been done about any number of our legends, but Etta was chosen and no doubt she got paid too. Some of the most famous songs by our very own legends have been remakes of country, pop, and or rock songs. Beyonce has done nothing less than what other artists before her has done (Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight, Luther Vandross).
