  • Solche maersche koennen nur aus DEUTSCHLAND kommen !!!

  • MARCH TOGETHER!!

  • bravo from czech!!!!

  • brilliant! thats all i can say.

  • Check out preussens gloria in this link: LDK-k, Högvakt 2010, del 3/3 , also very nice!

  • Lang lebe Österreich! Vorwärts! Hurra!

  • Long live Fredrick the Great!!.. Even though he's been dead for like 200+ years... BUT STILL, he's friggin awesome! And great job with music!

  • GREAT! Good Job!!!

    Sgt.P., Germany

  • I am very proud that we keep the Preussian tradition. Wir marchieren zusammen!

  • Ahhh, the march of the Prussian dragoons. :-)

Very well arranged by the Swedish Army! I'm proud of my ancestors to compose this march, but i'm also proud of united Europe with shared traditions, like this. This was my favourite tune during my military service. I'm glad you play it as well!

    Greetings from Germany

  • Pickelhaubes? EPIC!

  • Auf Ansbach Dragoner! Auf Ansbach-Bayreuth!

  • What are the chances of getting the USC Trojan marching band to do this tune?

Bravo Schweden !!

  • All that I know or care about is that this is great music in the Germanic tradition of military excellence! Pride in the ones roots and nationalism is a human thing and no matter how you may try to avoid it or make it "politically incorrect" to have pride in one's nation or nationality or even martial traditions, it will never be erased from the human experience. Embrace it, be proud of it and never be ashamed to admit that pride or admiration for those things you hold dear.

  • I like how those anti-german retards swarm in whith their nazi-paranoia or w/e else bullshit whenever somthing awesome of germanic orogin is being diplayed. In fact like 50% of whole european awesomeness is of germanic orgin as them alde are fucking resourceufk so fucking fuck off haters.

  • Europe.. rise up.. fuck multiculturalism, its destroying you, wake up and become great nations again please :C

  • God bless Sweden, even including the famous Pickelhaube.

I love that German and old Swedish is so a like. I can go through our dictionary and find words from Swedish that can be perfectly translated into german with almost identical grammar.

We need National Socialism again... but not the Holocaust one, only the national unity-part.

  • @H0llaZ1990 Did you not read the highest rated comment?

  • @abola2121 Why would I care? It's -my- comment, you don't have to read or comment on it.

  • @H0llaZ1990 It's sorry sods like you who give Prussia a bad retrospective. the state-concept of Prussia was among the best Germany ever gave the world, Nazism, without a shimmer of a doubt, the very worst. How dare you compare, or even hint, to refer to the Great King in relation to some mentally deranged gutter-trash who bewitched Germany and raised it good name to the ground?

  • @MrMostevilgenius To start of with, you have no clue of what I'm trying to say. To even think that I am referring to Hitlerism is preposterous. You make yourself look bad when you question me. I'm referring to restoration of unity amongst people and the nationalism, not the Hitlerism you're referring to. Perhaps you should read up on the subject before you start throwing gibberish my way, you're not dealing with a 12-year-old here. Prussia was a great state, but to think I'm a Nazi is offensive.

  • @H0llaZ1990 I do understand quite well, just what you are trying to say.

You stated, and I quote "We need National Socialism again... but not the Holocaust one, only the national unity-part."

I dare say that someone who thinks "we" need national socialism, which is nazism, is by any account, a nazi. I frankly don't give a buggering rats ass about your attempts to diminish the meaning of your previous statement nor do I value your pathetic attempts to devalue the argument.

  • @MrMostevilgenius Nazism is a -COMPLETELY- different thing than National Socialism. Nazism includes the racial ideologies whereas National Socialism doesn't. You might not have understood this yet, but for the rest of us it is quite obvious that when the term is being used long before The Great War and long before our racial biology institutes even showed up, the term must be referring to something else. But please, continue to try to make your point across while insulting me, that'll help.

  • @H0llaZ1990 Thank you for proving my point. Now, please do bugger off.

  • @MrMostevilgenius Will do. How civil of you to accept defeat.

  • Sweden and Germany share alof of history. Lots of our kings had german blood ex: Albrecht von Mecklenburg. the holstein-gottorp folks, germans turned Stockholm from a little village into a town during the hansa era. The swedish nobelity's first language was German during the 14th and 15th century. The augsburg lutheran Gustav II Adolf's adventures in Germany during the 30 years war. Pommern and Bremen was apart of the swedish empire, there are tons of stuff that connects us.

  • The thing of note here is that lots of the music used by the nazis are old music from the Prussians and old germanic kingdoms/empire thingy.

  • The Prussian were not Nazies. The lost their country after WWI. I agree and, just enjoy the great music here. What is so sad about youtube is that a lot of people want to make it nationalistic. GROW UP people and just enjoy the music please.

    Robert

  • @IncubusKing

It's not even nationalistic. It's just stupid shit people scream out because they're, well, stupid!

  • @idahobuckeye I agree with you. I just like the music. No hidden agenda here with me. Loved your profile with your water doggie. I was a K-9 Deputy in VA for many years. Take care my friend.

Schade eigentlich.

  • What you have been watching is the Royal Swedish Army Music Corps. One of the best marching bands in the world. They try to keep the art treasures of the military music alive and perform marches from all countries in the world. They are well worth listening to...and to watch!!!

    Search Youtube for "AMK Frankrike"

  • Prussians of the North. Very nice performance, all in a prussian orderly and disciplined fashion.

Grüße an unsere deutschen brüder! Bitte besuchen sie uns in Schweden jederzeit.

  • Best version of this march on YouTube!

I am amazed at the minimal traffic control. Cars going by just seconds before the band marches by intersections.

  • all socialist are just angry that hitler infact had to be a nationalist too. They are no diffrent expect for that.

  • Great march well played.

  • Beautiful. Those were the days.

  • @Nazisvergasen

    es sind schweden ^^

  • lol, this vid takes place in sweden and i immediately see a man walking on the ice in the very beginning!:P

  • awesome!

  • i dont understand why people keep mixing german marches with nationalsocialism, these marches where the marches of the people, not some nazis, even the DDR played traditional german marches, besides Frederick the great was a humanist and an intellectual,i doubt he would have agreed with some nazi idiots...

  • lovee it

  • If only the German army still looked this good!

  • impresionante!

  • I think it is nice that Sweden has kept the picklehaube through all these years.

  • Just listening to this makes the pulse quicken and the heart beat faster!! Oh how wonderful to hear such a great Prussian march played with such fervor. Germans have much in which they can be proud including a rich military tradition and the marches such as this one. Truly a classic of martial music! Germans have been forced to be "politically correct". Their professionalism and military prowess was the very reason that other nations emulated them.

  • Très belle interprétation. Frédéric II en aurait été satisfait.

  • Well played.

  • Fabulous :D

  • Wahy didn´t they play this marsch in Germany in there whole marsch. Are they scared or wath???

  • @bolle2012

WWII and nazism rings a bell??

  • I want this band at my wedding! Now to find some Swedish Prince I can bribe to borrow these guys for a day...:P

  • why does seem that the swedish are more german than the germans

  • @guywithtights

    They are all germanic anyway...

  • @guywithtights The Chileans especially!

  • @guywithtights Because they're both germanic in origin...?

  • Awsome....

  • Surprised to see anything so traditional in Sweden I thought you had given such things up but they are very good indeed.

  • Oh my god! This video is so much 1870!

    I love it!

  • Man this song makes me wanna conquer the world and be a total bad ass like Frederick The Great. Dude wtf happened to the world? All we got are politicians who apologize and condemn stuff :(

  • I like the pickelhaube helmets the bandsmen are wearing. I kid my former exchange student (now an Oberleutnant in the Federal German Army) that his uniform beret makes him look like a Parisian artist, and that his army should bring back the Prussian pickelhaube. : )

  • Hey, give him a break. Pickelhauben were a bitch to keep clean, and in combat, afforded about as much protection as a beret stuffed with newspaper. If you don't believe me, ask the Kindermord bei Ypern.

  • HAIL PRUSSIA!

  • Attention!

A Prussian party has taken over sweden!

everyone, prepare to be german :D

    just a joke:)

  • aww are you jealous because you live in the shitties country in Europe? It's ok, dont be sad.

  • Sweden = North Preussia!

  • North Preussia = South Sweden...

  • Það er ágætt ! Takk !

  • Now if only the Germans would play this march...

Great job Sweden for honoring Germanic tradition!

  • Why, this march is played very often here.

  • We play it. Watch on july, 1st, on Phoenix the live broadcasting of the "Feierliches Gelöbnis" of the Guard Batallion of the Ministry of Defence in front of the Reichstag. When the colors are marching out of the parade, this march is played

  • @kingbobnjoe

We are not allowed to do such things in Germys, since that would make us to nazis... fucking politicians... I´m proud to be a German!!!!

  • Nice march

  • this is great. Greetings from Britain.

  • kann ich einfach nur zustimmen... tradition is wichtig, is immerhin etwas, das unsere gegenwart prägt, die grundlage für heutige existenz liefert, man kann sie nicht einfach totschweigen, sowohl das gute als auch das schlechte... wie au immer musst ich nur mal loswerden - very nice parade i have to admit, nice video :)

  • It is very interesting to see the Swedish military band to play Hohenfriedberger , because they are wearing pointy helmets , so they look like Prussians too (I know that they are Swedish uniforms ) , my country's guards used to wear such pointed helmets too .

  • Mycket maffig marsch. Som sägs nedan: jag får gåshud!

  • it´s in a 114 temp, original is 8o steps per minute, imagine that. by the way , exellent drumming here

  • It looks like they're randomly parading through the street. Although there's nothing wrong with that, as long as it's Prussian style...

  • Hessians were sent to the americas to fight for the british crown, Mercenaries, paid for by the King of England, they were Very expensive, it was cheaper if the soldier was killed, if wounded, or captured, the money still had to be paid to the principality the soldier came from

  • You have no clue about history. Regular army soldiers are not mercenaries. See UN,

  • Sweden has not been in any war since the Napoleonic war in 1814. The sister of the last emperor in the German kingdom was the wife of the King Gustav V

  • Dear germans! If you want to experience the old preussen days. Pay a visit to the Swedish royal castle and watch the changing of the guards :D

  • You are wrong, 4:e squadron, a part of livgardet (the kings personal guards)have the uniforms all summer. I live in stockholm so trust me.

  • Oh, realy? The royal blue ones with pickelhaube? I also, sadly, live in Sthlm lol

  • It's strange that noone seems to be directing the traffic. Atleast the military police could do it to ensure the safety of the muscisians, keeping in mind how awfully bad swedish and especially Sthlm-citizens drive...

  • At the 2min 19 sec count , there seems to be three men with fatigue's and red berets in the picture. MP's ?

  • they are probably the band's commanding officers. Btw a few freinds of mine where in the band at this concert! :)

  • @shalnomo No, hard to say for definite due to low video quality but it's not such a big guess to state that it's the Army Bands beret that comes with the fatigues. The music corps has bright red berets, which at first sight sometimes is easy (for non-military people) to mistake for the Airborne Rangers burgundy red ones.

  • Sadly most things Prussian are mistaken for being Nazi stuff over here, hence why most of it was abandoned. Particulary sad that during my time in the German Guard, which is the only military unit still trained to Pruissian standards and traditions in Germany, I have not heard the Hohenfriedberger being played once. A real shame, I think it is the most magnificent of all military marches.

  • @Sweden80Here

I already did, some years ago - great!

  • @Sweden80Here

Or you just come and visit our "Großer Zapfenstreich" in Berlin. That also reminds of the Preußian days.. :-)

  • @Sweden80Here Ok I'll come to Stockholm;)!

  • @Sweden80Here not necessary. thanks! This looks good no dought! but its not the wehrmacht or nva or any other prussian style army we had in germany (except the bundeswehr of course!) Compared to them I rather watch the old videos on youtube. I also don´t realy enjoy the chilenians with their "copy". A copy will always be a copy...

  • The pickelhaube was developed in Russia around 1840 and showed for the King of Prussia who adopted it into the prussian army as a protection helmet. By WW1 it proved to be of little protection and in the beginning of Nazi Germany it was deserted from the german military.

  • The conscripts who guard the Royal Castle in Stockholm also use another uniform in blue with a Pickelhaube.

  • If it was written after the Battle of Leuthen, why is it called the Hohenfriedberger? It was written by Fred the Great after the battle of Hohenfriedberg (in 1744 I think), in honour of the Ansbach and Bayreuth Dragoons.

  • No, Battle of Hohenfriedberg (now Dobromierz in Poland) had place on the 4th of June 1745, during the War of Austrian Succesion, Charles of Lorraine was bitterly defeated by Frederick the Great.

  • but frederick was close to killing himself before the prussian generals talked him out of it because of the combat odds, there where like 1 prussian on 4 enemies

  • It is a historical Swedish army uniform, not Prussian. However the Prussians has always been our friends.

  • Is the PICKELHAUBE a part of the traditional Swedish uniform? I don't think so...

  • Actually it is. As a part of a german inspired uniform which the royal swedish guard uses in their parades, and has been doing so for about 200 years.

  • Prussian amrch written after the battle of Leuthen (1757).

  • YEEeHHHAAAA!! The best march song ever!! The only thing who misses are the german soldiers marching XD

  • They wear Prussian Pickelhaube anyway !!!

  • Very smart

  • well, well! this band sounds as good , actually, better than, most german military bands. they also have the right 'look' to go along with the great music...

  • Really sad it is not played in Germany.

    aber ein preußischer marsch !

  • très bonne et impressionante musique militaire, vraiment;

  • Prussians of the north! 5*****!

  • And they did perform perfectly - nearly. OK, the Prussians were much better near the Sonderborg - where they literally slaughtered stucked and proud Danish army. As that should be done! Shut up, small nation! Empires rules!

  • I think you are being unfair. Sure, Sweden was at war with her neighbours from time to time but she didnt start all of the wars. Correct me if Im incorrect, but Denmark started all the wars that lead to the swedish victories which resulted in the danish losses of Scania, Halland, Bohuslän etc.

  • You ARE incorrect. The Torstensson war of 1643-45 was started as a Swedish surprise attack, without any formal declaration of war. It led to the loss of Gotland/Ösel in the Baltic, and Jämtland, Härjedalen and Halland.

  • Regarding fighting wars, Prussia actually never fought as many wars as other European Powers of that time like France and England

  • since the seven years war they were involved in almost every european conflict.

  • The Great Northern War

    Seven Years war

American revolution (sending mercenaries I think)

    Seven Years War

    Dunno much about the 1800s'

    German Unification

    French Prussian war

    Boxer Rebellion

    World war 2

    World war 2

  • Lob und Anereknnung! Perfekter Gleichschritt!

  • 5*****!!!

  • Excelente marcha!
