Hey Scott, I attempted to transcribe Wagner's Idyll for guitar. It was a nice thought but I don't have the talent. I'm curious to know what it would sound like if done right. Is that a piece that should even be attempted?

I don't know about that work, like Wagner's work it's pretty complicated. (I've done Pilgrim's Chorus for voice and guitar). Puccini is a bit easier; the orchestration is thick but the harmony is more straightforward. Also, the melody is distinctive from the accompaniment.

Then, one day, I was playing it dreamily, looking out the window, and it sounded gorgeous. I realized then that it works best as a dream. It's as if you've just heard Pavrotti sing the work and go home and dream the piece. I believe it honors the piece while creating a legitimate work for the classical guitar repertoire
