Hey Scott, I attempted to transcribe Wagner's Idyll for guitar. It was a nice thought but I don't have the talent. I'm curious to know what it would sound like if done right. Is that a piece that should even be attempted?
I don't know about that work, like Wagner's work it's pretty complicated. (I've done Pilgrim's Chorus for voice and guitar). Puccini is a bit easier; the orchestration is thick but the harmony is more straightforward. Also, the melody is distinctive from the accompaniment.
Gives me chills every time I watch this video. This song is absolutely stunning and beautiful on guitar! You're such a talented man, thank you for posting this!
My god, what wonderful and beautiful version!!! I loved!! thanks very much foe post it. I have my version too in youtube. Your version is different, sublime, like a soul sound. Thabks again
I've having goosebumps every time I listen to Pavarotti singing this, but this man is just amazing. I've never imagined that opera can be played on guitar. Fantastic!
I heard this on classical radio and loved it so much I had to find the cd. I listen to it often and have shared it with many friends. Thank you! Peace
Then, one day, I was playing it dreamily, looking out the window, and it sounded gorgeous. I realized then that it works best as a dream. It's as if you've just heard Pavrotti sing the work and go home and dream the piece. I believe it honors the piece while creating a legitimate work for the classical guitar repertoire
This made my jaw drop!! Amazing!!!
