This is actually an original song written for the Last of the Mohicans. If I am not mistaken the only reason the score did not win an Oscar is because it had two composers credited. The theme that repeats throughout the soundtrack is adopted from "The Gael".

When i was a kid he had the film on vhs and the soundtrack on cassette tape.After he died I kept the cassete tape but finaly after all these years updated this soundtrack to cd. I've listened to it numerous times and love it but the film i only saw once so far when i was younger and dont remember much so its time to update it to dvd or blu ray and watch it again.
