  • Brilliant. I love the Scottish undertones. Great driving movements.

  • @EvanTheBold

  • @majesticdomain Do you know which orchestra plays this version? I agree with BetaFett that it's the best one around.

  • when I play COD online TDM this song is always blasting over my speaker to help pump up my team.

  • The most epic soundtrack ever .... there never was another after it .. and there will never be another quite like it.

  • I prefer this version over the one in the film; this one carries it's own bass harmonies, whereas in the movie (and other most versions of Promontory on Youtube), you can hear an actual bass guitar is providing a basic bass track, which is kinda distracting for me now that I've had this version on my MP3 for a few years.

  • The bit from 2:29 to 2:48 just sends chills down my whole body,

to me quite simply the finest big of the song, actually, is there a best bit of a song this good?

  • word up

  • AWEEESOOOOOME!!!!!!

  • That commercial with Stephen Jackson was awesome with this song.

  • What a transcendent piece of music. Makes one feel like anything can be accomplished. I also love how, despite the up-tempo feel, there is still a touch of sorrow to the song.

  • you do know that we're in the 21st century right?

  • What the hell are you talking about? While your statement is [regrettably] true, how pray tell is this relevant to the other statement?

  • well you talk as if we live in the 1800's which is not at all true. People just don't talk like that anymore. Reality check?

  • Gee, sorry for being eloquent. Despite "major trends" in how people talk, there's no such thing as an "absolute" way to talk correlated to a time period.

More succinctly: say whatever the bloody hell you'd like!

  • @BeierFilms I agree, but for me it's not quite sorrow but uncertainty. Great song.

  • this song is perfect for football

  • My hat off to Randy Edelman and Trevor Jones this is incredible.

  • watch "wofford football part 1" this song is perfectly used in the video

  • @SavageHenry78 this song? not chariots of fire?

  • And Thank-you!!! I'm from Canada, but I appreciate what you are doing my friend! cheers

  • Wow what a great song Celtic violin is so beautiful

  • *Gaelic violin ;)

  • Wow. What an excellent piece.

  • you're motivation should come from within, not from a song--especially if that motivation is for the Marines. Anyway, carry on soldier...

    Army MP

  • amen brother 1st Lt. Stewart 82nd airborne

  • This piece samples "The Gael" for the violin part.

  • Heard this on the site davidsdoodles, and here I am. It's a great listen, to be sure. :)

  • This is surely a fantastic piece. I don't think that most composers out there nowdays could topple this piece at all. Come to think of it, it can be used to almost any moment of scene when creating a movie.

  • This is a GREAT soundtrack. When I bought it I listened to it every night at bed time for months.

  • Great song, great movie. Gaelic music kicks arse.

  • mon the Celts!

  • This...is...amazing.

  • mammaaaa che potenza

  • love love love this music!

  • An excellent piece. Loving it.

  • Dude, this song is like THE reason to wake up!! If I woke up to this I would have a cure for cancer, cure world hunger, while bench pressing 500 lbs.!!

  • this song was used in the medieval 2 total war mod stainless steel fyi

  • Yay another medieval 2 player = )

  • I'm a fiddler old time and bluegrass are my speciality, but for the hell of it I tried this song on my fiddle, and it is one very hard song to try to play, much congrats to the gentleman who wrote this he's a much better fiddler than me

  • from a fellow bluegrass fiddler this one here puts all classical music to shame as to being hard to play took me at least two months to leard to play this one and that is trus it is absolutely hard as hell to learn to play

  • This song was playing when I hit the 200 lb limit while bench pressing... I'm still new, and lifting more as the weeks progress, but man this is such an awesome song when you're lifting.

  • I had suck an erge to do a ship building or getting ready for battle montage that im going to probably do one now :D, i mean this is like perfect for that reason :D

  • GREAT!

  • i feel like i have to lift hard now

  • If I woke up to this song every morning, I probably would have found the cure for cancer by now.

  • lol

  • so nice ...

  • this is a good workout song, gets your blood flowing

  • lol, i use it for that too.

  • Its irish. i heard it of a m8 from ireland he also said something about irish river dance

  • this song's from 2 composers: trevor jones (south african) and randy edelman (north american). and largekalibur's right about 'the gael' :)

  • It's Scottish, it's called 'The Gael'. .

  • Thats one of the most strongest song what i have heard..

  • Amazing, gives me the chills every single time

  • I loved this song about 10 years ago when I was between grade school and high school. I used to rewind the cassette tape over and over.

  • this songs gets my heart racing and a lump in my throat

  • think its scottish (its only a guess) this song just makes my heart beat faster and faster everytime

  • This is actually an original song written for the Last of the Mohicans. If I am not mistaken the only reason the score did not win an Oscar is because it had two composers credited. The theme that repeats throughout the soundtrack is adopted from "The Gael".

  • Thanks Thizz and vinisky!

  • i laughed at how much the theme was overplayed during the movie, but this really is some great music

  • how beautiful this song is eh :)

  • Interesting previous comments but for me I don't care if it's celtic, gaelic, or runic...it stirs the blood. Thanks for posting :)

  • Kipperajh,sorry about your father,hope he's up there with the lord.peace.

  • This was my Dads fave soundtrack of any film! We played it at his funeral last week. god bless x

  • thats sad, i feel ya bro

  • @Kipperajh My dad loved this film and soundtrack too. When i was a kid he had the film on vhs and the soundtrack on cassette tape. After he died I kept the cassete tape but finaly after all these years updated this soundtrack to cd. I've listened to it numerous times and love it but the film i only saw once so far when i was younger and dont remember much so its time to update it to dvd or blu ray and watch it again.

  • @mrkhamaileon that statement "when I was a kid" really strikes a chord with me. I saw this movie when I was 11 (I think) .. and this particular tune and composer (plus enigma who had just come out with Cross of Changes) is what got me into music. I wasn't able to make a career of it .. but these tunes made my life .. they gave it passion .. they gave me something to believe in .. now I'm 30 ...

  • I dont know why, but I fuckin LOVE this song!! Its so addictive. Sounds either Scottish or Irish. Am I right?

Anyways, I want to shake the guys hand who composed this. Its hard.

  • It's not very difficult playing wise, but I must say that it's pretty amazing nonetheless.

  • I didnt mean hard playing wise, I meant it sounds amazing. I guess I should've said that. Not many people get the gist of Hiphop slang. lol
