I believe Jesus Christ was a teacher and enlightened person, and I follow him and what he said, I dont even read the rest of the Bible, nor am I arguing for its validity or constructiveness. Its just a book to me, but I believe it contains truths that are beneficial to my living, so I have absorbed them into my consciousness

I believe you are referring to Haeckel's Embryos, (not drawn by Darwin) which were discredited by the scientific community about 50 years ago, and aren't used for any teaching other than why you should be honest, or have your academic career destroyed overnight.

If you want a much better understanding of the evidence available, go to your local museum of natural history, many fossils to see there that demonstrate not just evolution, but transitional forms as well.

As far as proof ancestry, there is genetic and anthropological evidence. (the hominids are not as well represented as a number of other species, but it is there, and the record continues to grow)
