  • Yes, church and state should be separate - but it's just as close-minded for people to deny gay marriage as it is for people ignorant of the true Christian faith to post absolute garbage like this on the internet, and it's completely hypocritical for you to judge every single church in the Nation with the same generalizations that homosexuals have been fighting for years. It takes everyone a step back; and it's a slap in the face for those Christians who spend their time supporting gay marriage.

  • No preacher would pay to have sex with a mutilated prostitute when he's spending so much time with a hot redhead.

  • But if you illegalize gay marriage then soon straight marriage will be in danger! And then what? Slippery slopes slip both ways. Marriage is an agreement made between two people legally able to consent so that kinda excludes children dogs and corpses along with all non-setient creatures or things.

  • Why does fucking bigot get the top comment? And why the hell do people call him "progressive" when he says homosexuality is "wrong"? Does it harm anyone? Fascist.

  • @ludoalta1995: 94XJ has a right to his/her opinion. He's progressive for not forcing it on others or attacking them like you just did.

  • 0:38 EPIC SCREECH

  • This afternoon I got married to the slide in my local playpark.

    It's a slippery slope.

  • Nice except for the incidental transphobia at the end

  • Oh dear O.o

Gay marriage was legalized in Denmark a couple of days ago... we´re screwed!...

  • Slippery Slope is a bad debating argument, therefore this priest's entire model is defunct.

  • Tranny whore? really? I really want to get behind this video, but some aspects make it sound like some kind of highschool prank. Peoples sex lives shouldn't be an easy-laugh senior project.

  • Seriously? No one marrying a Japanese love pillow?

  • Great video! Except in the spirit of inclusion and tolerance with which SMBC made this video, might I suggest using terms such as trans and transgender, rather than the slur "tranny?" Thank you.

  • @alextsuname - well while this video is in the spirit of inclusion and tolerance, wouldn't you imagine that the characters in the sketch WOULD use the slur "tranny" instead of being so politically correct?

  • Legalize gay marriage, touch him on the penis

  • Most of the folks on the anti-gay marriage side of the issue are opposed to the idea of gay couples taking part in the religious ceremony. But this happens all over the country already, and no law is going to change that. The law only concerns the couple's status in regard to interacting with the government. I'm in favor of the government recognizing gay marriage; I would never attend a church that would perform or recognize a gay marriage.

  • @SOAHCSOAHCSOAHC Gay marriage was legalized in Denmark a couple of days ago. so now gay couple can get married in church. i totally agree with you.

  • @SOAHCSOAHCSOAHC Unfortunately, in America, marriage provides more benefits than a civil union. If they were equivalent, more people would choose the legal ceremony over the religious one.

  • @Alysaria That's also very true, and I don't approve of that. If I start talking about this too much, my libertarian streak is going to come out. I don't believe the government should be involved in marriage or unions of any kind. If you want to adopt children or name someone as a beneficiary on your insurance, the government shouldn't be stopping you whether you're married, "unioned" or not. The fight over marriage stems from egregious government overstepping in other areas.

  • @SOAHCSOAHCSOAHC While there are areas that having government funding is a benefit, I would agree that it's overstepped its bounds. The cold war just blurred the line between church and state so much that it's gotten tough to separate the two without getting people's panties all up in a bunch.

  • The error in this video is that it's assuming that conservative Christians have iPhones. This is not the case.

  • "Gateway marriage" hahaha.

  • The Slippery Slope; Legalize gay marriage. Touch him on the penis.

  • Even though personally I think homosexuality is wrong I don't think it's right to make homosexual marriage illegal. Just because a lot of people disagree with it doesn't mean it should be illegal. A lot of people disagree with Christianity...does that mean it should be illegal for me to believe in God? Atheists can freely think I'm wrong and I can think that homosexuality is wrong...but I don't think it's the government's right to decide either.

  • @94XJ I personally disagree with your view on homosexuality, but I applaud your ability to differentiate between beliefs and laws - and the roles and limitations that apply to each.

  • @94XJ but apparently, that doesn't stop you from being full of shit, anyway.

  • @94XJ You're fucking amazing.

  • @Tullidar1 The real slippery slope is the government getting involved with human rights. First it's homosexual marriage...what' comes after that? Will interracial marriages be illegal? How about an age window stating my spouse must be within 5 years of my own age? What about other basic rights?

Will it be illegal for me to eat chocolate ice cream because most people prefer vanilla? It's a slippery slope!

  • @94XJ You, sir, are a man of great moral values, who proves that religion has nothing to do against progressive way of thought!

  • @94XJ Actually, when State licensing began in the 1880s or so, in about 30 years interracial marriage was banned. By the 1920s most States had banned interracial marriage. So yes, validating your point - it is a slippery slope to have the State enter into our "human rights".

Of course, it's a slippery slope having one at all, but that's another story.

  • @94XJ why the fuck is the top comment on an smbc video from someone who says homosexuality is wrong? disgusting

  • @Monkeyboy92037 I didn't say homosexuality is wrong indefinitely...I said it is my personal view that it is wrong. So I disapprove of one small part of your life...I have several homosexual friends and one of my greatest mentors is a homosexual. So I disapprove of one small part of their lifestyle...that's my right as it is theirs to live that way. They might disapprove of my choice to smoke cigarettes but it is my right to do that as well.

I, for one, celebrate the diversity of humanity.

  • @94XJ you are aware that homosexuality isn't a choice, right? might as well say having down's syndrome is wrong

  • @Monkeyboy92037 ...after reading the stuff on your channel I don't see why you even feel the need to argue with me as you clearly use homosexuality as an insult.

  • @94XJ yeah, but i'm trolling... wait, are you trolling too? that explains it!

  • @94XJ

marriage (definition 1a): The social institution under which a MAN and WOMAN decide to live as husband and wife through legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc.

SO, homosexual marriage isn't even DEFINED as marriage

  • I love the acting in the first 20 secs

  • What about Holland?...we allow gay marriage and we still havent legalized canine marriage.

  • someone rape him

  • "Why would a man who has sex with corpses be interested in marriage law?" "Slippery slope preacher! Slippery slope!"

  • And you don't even want to know how that slope got so slippery.

  • Please downvote comments that spoil jokes and punchlines from the video!

  • I don't know, It kinda has point. Is it really to say certain kinds of love are okay? How can we judge one and say the other is wrong or right? I don't really see how choosing one over the other wouldn't lead to problems. People would do this. Seriously. This isn't unrealistic.

  • @Manpacattack Um, consent? Can a dog give consent? Can a 12 year old? Hell no, but two people can and do

  • @bizarospooky Actually, I Mexico, age of consent IS 12. Also, your sister could also give consent. As for dog, that to much gray area to figure out if dog likes it or not >.>

  • @Manpacattack yes but I wasn't talking ages of consent, I was talking flat out consent in a strictly psychological sense. A 12 can't be expected to give consent to a 50 yr old, simply because their are too many questions of power and the fact that they are 12 they don't fully understand marriage. Also, a dog may "like" it but liking it is not the same as giving consent. They don't have the reasoning skills to do so.

  • @Manpacattack Add in to that the slippery slope has been tried numerous times and failed every time. It's been tried with interracial marriage, and it failed to hold up. It's been tried with women's rights and failed. The slippery slope argument is a logical fallacy that will never hold up.

  • @bizarospooky I don't see how Women right fits in, since this marriage, and interracial was just wrong. Really, I don't care if gay's get married. Not my problem. Just don't call it marriage. It's all about the word. It's the union of man and woman. Thus is logical to give union that is different yet equal to this. Yes, southpark made the silly butt buddies, but i'm sure there term we could agree on this new form of same-sexed unions. Hell, even call it Egairram.

  • @Manpacattack In time, words change meaning. As for the word "marriage" it did already, as some countries recognize same-sex marriages.

  • @Manpacattack Would you allow atheists to get married? They don't believe in God, so they don't have a biblical definition of "union between man and woman". If you're gonna go by a bible definition, you have to argue that only people who believe in a religion that follows the strict definition of man & woman should be allowed to marry. The slippery slope goes both ways.

  • @Manpacattack "Separate but equal" has been tried already dude. There's no reason to name it something different if it actually is going to be treated equally.

  • @feline256 It's an attitude like that makes it can't work. And why hell is that every week someone is commenting on post i made 2 weeks ago? It can work if both parties agree have it fair, it's some sides get greedy and demand more then necessary. There a reason and purpose to label things differently because they ARE different. *Sigh* Not being easy being only theist who likes SMBC. The guys a genius, and he's funny in how he makes fun of religion. But that just rant, whatever, im tired of this

  • @Manpacattack Different yet equal...

Why does that sound so familiar? Hasn't it been tried somewhere before or something?

Oh, that's right, it was ruled unconstitutional almost 50 years ago.

  • Long haired red head guy is my favorite! Thank you SMBC!

  • Biggest sin is best sin.

  • Cockosition 8 - Legalise gay marriage, touch him on the penis.

  • Why is Angel in it tho shes a girl?

  • "You gonna have sex with him?"

    *Scoff* "I should say so!"

  • The Slippery Slope:

touch him on the penis then touch your yorkie on the penis then . . .

  • Why is it all the various christians can agree on making gay marriage illegal but they can't even all agree on one standard Jesus?

  • definately sarcastic. It is just pointing out how dumb the "slippery slope" thing is. Also you can tell when the girl says "cant we use our own judgment?" the way she says it especially

  • @IamDrizzle thank you captain obvious

  • "...No."

    *doorknob turns*

    *Jon has an asthma attack*

  • Alex is one of my favorite cast members solely for her last line in this.

  • it's gateway marriage... heh

  • legalize gay marriage, touch him on the penis

  • Is this satirical or not? I can't really tell.

  • @Pyro627 is this sarcastic or not? I can't really tell.

  • @Pyro627 ...you know the word "satirical" enough to use it in a youtube comment, but you can't tell that SMBC is mocking the ridiculous slippery slop argument?

    Yes, it is satirical.

  • @hithere01002 These are Youtube Comments. They're guaranteed to suck, and even smart guys like me can fall into that trap.

  • @Pyro627 true enough.

still, that's about as bluint as sarcasm gets.

  • Pastor Rick, as in Pastor Rick warren?

  • in my opinion, gay marriage should be legal. i don´t think, that you need to be married if you love each other, but if someone wants to, he should have the chance

  • Our new archbishop is for gay marriage!

Slippery Slope in sight in Finland! I can finally marry that mole that's been living under my yard since last summer! Ah... The happiness....

  • Pfft. Good luck getting said mole to accept your proposal. I hear moles are really pick with their mates.

  • @Theycallmetomu

Oh, that won't be a problem, because I slaughtered all the other moles in the area. She has no other choice and animals cannot fight against their instincts.

MUAHAHAHAHAAA!!! XD I'm totally gonna score!

  • @tobi944 I want to move to Finland even more now lucky

  • @RatDude1996

Good, good. Everyone's welcome (except for swedes) but don't you try courting my mole. She's mine! Mine, you hear! You keep your hands away from my mole and my booze and everything's fine and dandy.

  • @tobi944 I'm 1/8 Swedish =( I will stay away

But I will find a place to marry my dead 12 year-old nephew cardinal

  • @RatDude1996

Aww, that's alright. 1/8 isn't all that much. The important thing is that you don't speak swedish. Or cheer for their hockey team. Cause if you do, we're required to lynch you. Unless you buy us a round, then it's all cool. =)

  • @tobi944 I'm so happy for you! Will you be the husband, wife, or mole overlord? Also can I be a bridesmaid? I heard mole weddings are super classy!

  • detecting butthurt in this comments section

  • From 0:32 on I was dying with laughter. :D

  • Are you gonna have SEX with him?

    Ha! I should think so.

    Epic.

  • @TheMinxTail they're should be laws against this.

zach: it's a slippery slope dude

  • @TheMinxTail STOP FUCKING QUATING THE GODAMN VIDEO!WE HAVE WATCHED IT AND HAVE HEARD THE MOTHERFUCKING JOKE.

  • @gizmofly870 Calm down dude. It seemed funnier a year ago anyway. Blame everyone that upvoted the comment since then.

  • The ending was the best!

We should just make mariagge illegal. After all, if you're goin to be with someone your whole life, do you really need a priest to tell you what you already know?

  • @Squeejee09

It's not really the priest telling you what you already know so much as having your spouse afforded certain rights that would otherwise not be given.

  • There is some validity to this argument. Single racial marriages led to multiracial marriages. Now multiracial marriages are being used to justify gay marriage.

We need to just nip this in the bud and make all marriage illegal.

But seriously, I do believe that marriage shouldn't have anything to do with the gvmt. Civil Unions for: polygamists, homosexuals, and straights. But not for old people, that'd be gross.

  • Alright, the ending... was great. That made the whole silly dance worth it. XD

  • Comment removed

  • That actor did brilliantly. His expression when the doors open is hilarious. I seriously lol'd.

  • So that's why Gay Marriage can never be legalised! The Slippery Slope! I get it, it all makes so much sense now! But what if some of us DO want to marry Sea Otter?

  • I find him cute here. wahahha!

  • I'm pretty sure that Phroth is one of your great fans

  • I should think so!

  • Man, Zach looks awesome in this

  • "But you got caught having sex with a drugged up tranny?"

  • Or...

"But you got caught having drug-induced sex with a tranny hooker."

  • his argument seems as logical as any other against gay marriage.

  • @StrawB0ss - which is not logical at all

  • i don't think many of the viewers realize the irony of this video. It is extremely clever, like the green police super bowl ad, because it can really be taken either way.

  • @therealblueninja

    Bravo, good sir.

  • @therealblueninja how can that be taken either way? it is obviously a joke making fun of ignunt people.

  • if that is what it is about (and i am no proponent of the slippery slope argument or anything i am just saying) it demonstrates the slippery slope argument very well--in a comedic fashion of course. Just like the green police ad points out the ridiculousness of the 'going green' fad. But it can also be taken as you said, making fun of 'ignunt' people.

  • @therealblueninja And the slippery slope argument is silly in of itself, which was why this video was effectively able to satirize it.

  • By far one of their best so far!

  • Marry your 12 year old brother, touch him on the penis.

  • Sick dude!

  • Oh my god this was hilarious.

  • Shit, that preacher can make some crazy facial expressions. Shoulda left the last 5 seconds or so out in my opinion.

  • Actually, marrying relatives is legal in 30+ states still. Just saying. :P

  • Actually, marrying relatives is legal in any and all of our united states, commonwealths, territories, protectorates, and districts, because we're all related to one another.

Exactly where the state starts attempting to ban relationships varies only slightly from place to place.

  • @MishaVargas This is not true !!! This is not even close to reality ! "Because we're all related to one another" is bullshit, and you know it !

  • I'm trying to figure out if you're an idiot, or you're just imitating the kind of christian-level thinking skills found in this video.

We all share an ancestor in our family trees. Even the man wanting to marry his Yorkie is related to his bride-to-be, albeit more distantly.

  • Actually, it's legal to marry a first cousins in more states than gay marraige. Funny though. :D

  • Except that the concept is exhausted (everyone pokes fun at the "slippery slope" argument now), its rather amusing....especially the hook at the end.

  • @BadgerRavenmoon I'll believe that the slippery slope fallacy has become a joke when I stop hearing it made in a serious context by politicians.

  • I'll rephrase because I think I was not clear. The "slippery slope" argument has the same intellectual support as "for the children." Both are, or should be, seen as manipulative tools by people who do not or cannot make the argument.

  • nerdy redhead...HOT! what's her name?

  • Alex Oliver.

  • It's not their fault liberals like humour. Besides you don't see liberals being "disappointed" with the ranting and raving of conservative talk shows (Though they usually do disagree with it). Clearly the two ideologies have different means of conveying their messages. Humour for the liberals, and crazy talk for the conservatives. To each their own.

  • Who ever said I was a conservative? I'm talking about humor. Two minutes of a one trick pony isn't funny. It would have made a good comic but wasn't much more.

  • You're right, who ever said you were conservative? Certainly not me. I was meerly stating that liberals and comedy go together like a horse and carridge.

  • AMAZING!

  • This is the best one yet. You guys are great.

  • "If we illegalize gay marriage, all marriage is in danger! Next thing, we'll have to illegalize straight marriage and then marriage to Jesus!"

I love you, SMBC. Too bad it's still illegal to marry webcomics :(

  • Slippery slope, put on hand cream, touch him on the penis.

  • @SuperCrakker this

  • Make a self-referential in-joke, touch him on the penis.

  • Frickin awesome. My favorite oneeee.

  • Give an illogical argument supporting bigotry, touch him on the penis.

  • That girl is beautiful
