We All Know You Are Like 65 years old.. who uses "deer eyed" as a term of explanation.. are you from a mobile home park sir? lol... we city folk do not hunt for deer and shot deer lmao! get a life and leave me alone now.. i read about seismology and geology everyday and you are just a typica person who dosent know any better and will argue what you read.. do you bible beat to? are white people who mix the races going to hell? get a life go copy and paste some more.. im done and i know the FACTS
@ynnhojhairam Type "What to do in the event of an earthquake" and look at all the websites yourself. You took as fact one thing that you read. If one doctor tells you that you have cancer..is that it?? You going to believe that one? I would hope not...I came across website after website that states the same stuff..get under something sturdy. Also you took a simple debate about earthquake safety and made it political and racist and I have issues. Go find your article and send me a link to it.
@ynnhojhairam Oh and I went to the USGS website thinking maybe you may have a point.and yes I must cut and paste since You Tube doesnt allow links If you are INDOORS STAY THERE! (Get under a desk or table and hang on to it, or move into a hallway or get against an inside wall. STAY CLEAR of windows, fireplaces, and heavy furniture or appliances.
See I went to various websites and they all said the same thing. You quoted USGS I went there and found the above passage. You my judgemental friend are losing this arguement. So you will no doubt make another racial, religious, political reference to deflect from the fact that you are very misinformed
I was at KFC in San Dimas and I dove under the table...other people had a deer in headlight look to them. I think people forgot how to deal with earthquakes.
Um.. US Gelogical Survey And Geologist say Ducking Is Not What To Do... But To Get out Of **ANY** Building Safely If Possible.. The Standards Used In Schools Was The Standard Developed Over 60 Years Ago When Buildings Were Not Made To Withstand Earthquakes And The Safest Place Was Doorways..

@ynnhojhairam fema.gov- What to Do During an Earthquake
Stay as safe as possible during an earthquake. Be aware that some earthquakes are actually foreshocks and a larger earthquake might occur. Minimize your movements to a few steps to a nearby safe place and if you are indoors, stay there until the shaking has stopped and you are sure exiting is safe.If indoors
•DROP to the ground; take COVER by getting under a sturdy table or other piece of furniture; and HOLD ON
@ronscott7 Um No Shit Sherlock! LOL... The Standards Have Not Been Changed Since Then And Cal-Tech & Scientist Said They Need to be revised For Modern times Since Were Not In The 1960's.. I Don't Need To Copy And Paste Some Outdated Info From FEMA?! (Who Let Thousands Die In Katrina) To Know What The Scientist & Specialist Said About Our Outdated Procedures :)
@ronscott7 And Explain To The Thousands Of People's families Who STAYED INDOORS in Haiti And Were Killed By Their Schools Hospitals And Houses, How They DiD The Right Thing By Staying INDOORS AND HOLDING ON...
@ronscott7 im in Los Angeles you moron been through whittier all the way to chinos's and building standards have nothing to do with the outdated procedures.. REMEMBER NORTHRIDGE? the apartment fell on the people who stayed in and were killed? and that was a moderate shaker and CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODES DICK... i was born and raised in LA But, im not a follower when we have our so called BIG ONE alot of building and houses are goig to FAIL mark my words duck and hold boy :) this is fun!!
If you're indoors, stay there. Get under -- and hold onto --a desk or table, or stand against an interior wall. Stay clear of exterior walls, glass, heavy furniture, fireplaces and appliances. The kitchen is a particularly dangerous spot. If you’re in an office building, stay away from windows and outside walls and do not use the elevator.
•DROP to the ground; take COVER by getting under a sturdy table or other piece of furniture; and HOLD ON until the shaking stops. If there isn’t a table or desk near you, cover your face and head with your arms and crouch in an inside corner of the building.
Ive lived in California my entire life dumb ass...Ive been taught that all the way through school we had drills. What is your dumb ass going to do? Run outside as the shaking is happening? Oh yeah so plaster and ceiling material can fall on your head as you are running? Or the lighting fixtures? Well at least your dumb ass will die...will be one less idiot in the world
@ronscott7 AWWW Someone's feels Anger and has to use DUMBASS continually In A Post AWW :( DuDE you such an idiot and you dont even know it.. you are either like old as dirt and cant except change and reality or your just a douche bag who listens to what peoiple told you when you were 5 lmao... do you accept that our president is obama? or are you still hoping regan will run again? get a life man.. i know what iheard and read in 2010 not when i was a child. so grow up your the dick who'll die :)
@ynnhojhairam So you read one article and it throws away everything most of your teachers, most of what we have seen on TV and what almost every website I have seen today also states. Think about it..its shaking..A) Do I run outside? B) Do I duck under something sturdy? Brain storm for yourself the dos and donts of each. Now granted a major earthquake and no matter what we do we are screwed...but think hard on why ducking and covering makes sense over running outside right away.
lol, I was just at LAX my flight took off at 11:41AM that day, I didn't find out about the earthquake until I got to DFW. I just barely missed it, that's some funny shit!
Yeah, thing is though, if it would have happened when you were going down the runway, you wouldn't have felt it. If your moving more than about 25-35mph, unless you see the cement/asphalt cracking in front of you, you wouldn't know because you're literally moving too fast to feel it; even a massive quake.
A massive earthquake can be felt if you are in a car quite strongly. People in blimps felt the shaking from the Loma Prieta earthquake, definitely people in cars.
blimps? i was in my car during this quake but i was at a red light and just felt the car wobbling and the cars around me were too. i saw the stop light and street lights shaking and people coming out of buildings. pretty crazy feeling lol
Whoa! That map thing was cool. I live in Florida were they don't really have earthquakes so I haven't really been through anything like this. I would be so scared though.

Here's a different website During an Earthquake
If you're indoors, stay there. Get under -- and hold onto --a desk or table, or stand against an interior wall. Stay clear of exterior walls, glass, heavy furniture, fireplaces and appliances. The kitchen is a particularly dangerous spot. If you’re in an office building, stay away from windows and outside walls and do not use the elevator.

Here is the 3rd website I researched
•DROP to the ground; take COVER by getting under a sturdy table or other piece of furniture; and HOLD ON until the shaking stops. If there isn’t a table or desk near you, cover your face and head with your arms and crouch in an inside corner of the building.
