hmm it's different story! 'cause Derek didn't know that Meredith was going out with Vet before he found her in Vet's office..house..whatever; in the show. And at the end of the episode, he had sex with Addison like..revenge~? well, and next epi, he was totally mad at Mer.

I think it was deleted because of story. From the season2, Derek was mad at Meredith after he've found her in McVet's house...office..whatever..;; and before that, in the elevator, she just told Derek that Finn asked her they're-MerDer- together. So~ Derek didn't know there was something between them.
