I have a 2010 Mazda RX8 GT (R3) it's the six speed manual, 6 port and I think it's 232 BHP here in Sydney, Australia. What HP gain would I see and how would that change the 0-60? Also, can you reset to factory setting as don't want a void warranty, I bought it brand new. Thanks, Matt.
@Tallandcharming At this time, AccessPORTsupport is limited to 2005-2008 vehicles. Typically speaking, increasing HP will decrease your 0-60 times. The AccessPORT is able to reflash the ECU as well as return it to 100% stock avoiding any warranty concerns, all with the press of a button! MazdaManiac is the sole dealer for RX-8 AccessPORTs.
I just can't justify $700 for my car to be "smoother" I need results for that kind of money... by my calculations they should be able to at least get 250bhp (mazdas original rating before all the added computer restrictions to bring the emissions down) THAT I'd pay $700 for...
The 250 is for crank HP, they never, posted wheel HP. They got 15 extra HP out of my car which is almost completely stock. So if you figure Mazda dropped the HP from 250 to 232, the Cobb tuner almost makes up that difference, and you car might be better. Actually, Mazda replaced my engine and it has always seemed less powerful since. From what I understand the RX-8 is tuned very well by Mazda so there is not a whole lot to get out of it, without adding FI or modifying exhaust and/or intake.
I had my engine AND transmission replaced by Mazda... I realize they get the 232/250 at the crank... the reason you lost power with your new engine (I suspect) is because your old one was running an earlier firmware with higher HP output, when your new engine was installed they updated the programming as well and you probably lost a few ponies to it... an Intake will only give you 2-3hp max, not worth it... however, hi flow cat and RB exhaust will give you 10-15hp...

really? please... tell me... have you test driven some flashes? what kind of improvements have you seen?

I posted my dyno results on the cobb forums. My car is deffentinly smoother, but Im at 4000 feet elevation so the power gain is not real noticable.
