Hay your video helped me so much. thank you very much. In exchange for you helping me. you should come check out my videos i JUST uploaded one from the vba tell me what u think of it
im trying to make a lets play of pokemon yellow but every time i record a video i either cant play the video or it will have a glichy screen for half the video, wtf?? Help?
So I tried recording something twice now with avi recording in my Visual Boy Advance and the result was the first half of the recording is all choppy and generally not good at all. Only the second half of the recording comes in fine. Is there anything I can do to fix that?
I've got a question about recording through emulators. For some reason, no matter what I use, (even outside recorders like Camstudio or Fraps) the sound desyncs after a certain amount of time has passed. Is there a way to remedy this?
dude if ur that impatient u should just try to find out urself its actually not that hard, but this guy is showing u how to do this and ur gonna sit there and be a little bitch about it!
dude im not impatient im just annoyed. i looked up 100 videos on how to do this that day not one of them were clear. now i just happen to come upon this and hes explaining what he has i dont care and if ur actually gonna reply to mine im gonna reply too
What about video outputs? If you were to connect a camera to a GBA or DS, could you directly record the audio and video to the camera without outside noice/footage?
when i record, the file size is like really big. 5 minutes is like 500+ MB. which one should i choose so i can have a recorded video with a small file size?
I'm sorry if you have answered this, but to use an emulator, do you need to hook your gameboy up to the computer? :P I've never been too sure, because I don't know if you need a special cord or something of the sort. xD
also my VBA wont run at 100% speed but instead only runs at around 40%. i always have it at normal size like u had it in the video and i always have no other applications open can u please help me!!!
I've been doing some test recordings with VBA, and I'm having a big problem with the audio going out of sync after only about five minutes. By the end of an hour long recording, the audio and video are about three minutes out of sync! It seems to happen no matter what codec I use to record, even with uncompressed.
Also, VBA doesn't like to record AVIs larger than 4 gigs, which is something to watch out for if you're recording uncompressed.
u are not the only one with that problem! i have videos that i have recorded that are AVI from VBA and the also go out of sync. if u see my videos on youtube u will see how bad it is
Ok, I made a video. If I just upload it to youtube without doing anything, It takes over an hour to process before the upload.. If I put it in windows movie maker, it processes fine, but it saves as a file type that youtube doesn't accept.
So, how do you change filetype in windows movie maker? I've tried EVERYTHING. Thanks in advance.
In Windows Movie Maker, be sure to select "Publish to Computer" or "Save to Computer" or something worded like that. It's one of the last options on the left side of the screen.
Then you'll be given a few options. I don't know what version of Windows Movie Maker you are using, so I can't tell you exactly what format to use, but I can say that some of them are low-bitrate WMVs that rip the guts out of your video quality, so set it to something with a higher bitrate and see how it goes.
Well, I use Hypercam for my games, but stopping AVI recording where the sound usually goes out of sync, and immediately starting again, will make another AVI and the sound will resync. Put the clips in movie maker and save. It may have a pause where you stopped recording but it's VERY minor.
i recorded some videos of pokemon and still have them in my channel i did what you said...but how come the sound is way off...see my videos for example
What, you think an FBI swat team is gonna bust into your house, shoot your dog, fuck up everything in the house, and handcuff your family before taking your computer away?
No one pays attention or cares about ROM downloads (other than the developers), because it's not the RIAA or MPAA.
It's not about getting games free. Sometimes, games can only be acquired via a ROM because they either haven't been released in certain areas or are really old, hard to find and not on the Wii Virtual Console.
no i dont think that. i think an idiot will put spam on the file, so it spreads to my comp, then another, and repeats until the internet is 100% deactivated in the U.S, we abuse it more than use it. you're just lucky yahoo has that virus detector. Btw, great vids.
Now, about "spam", which I guess you mean viruses and worms.
First of all, ROMs are almost always downloaded in .RAR format, which contain no executable code to be infected. The ROM would have to be infected (which I don't think is even possible) before it is compressed in the .RAR format. And the people that dump ROMS certainly aren't going to ruin their own work by doing that. Even if that was the case, it would get taken down VERY quickly.
Second, viruses are usually spread by e-mail and downloading infected files. They aren't just going to spontaneously spread from one computer to another unless a connection is established.
Third, THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL the Internet can be "100% deactivated". And why do you think it will only be deactivated in the U.S.? The Internet is GLOBAL. Look at me, I'm typing this in Japan right now. It's just as easy to connect to a computer anywhere in the world as it is to connect to one in the US.
My point is that it's NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE to get any type of malicious code in your computer from downloading a ROM. And even if your theory of the Internet being "deactivated" was true, EVERY COMPUTER ACROSS THE ENTIRE WORLD would have to be PERMANENTLY DAMAGED...from you downloading a Super Nintendo game. Does that sound plausible?
Now, I'm not trying to be mean here, I'm just saying that ROMs are a lot safer than what you think they are.
Wow, that's kind of insulting to those that put long hard hours into working on the translation patch.
Of course nobody personally knows the people that worked on the translation. I do know that the patch was downloaded over 30,000 times and that it's currently being translated into other languages, not to mention still being downloaded. One person that worked on it is also a professional translator. Do you really think that one of them put malicious code into the hack?
Also, let me break something down. ROMs have no executable code, just like MP3 files and videos. If MP3s could be infected, filesharing would have stopped in the infant stages of Napster. ROMs are no exception.
Now, with that being said, it's the emulator that runs on the computer and interacts with the user according to what it reads in a ROM file. All emulators I've used are stand-alone programs. So the ROM would have to somehow infect the emulator which would in turn attack the system.
Attacking the system would be pretty hard if the program is stand-alone, meaning it has nothing in system directories or the registry.
Your argument is basically the equivalent of saying it's dangerous to download music because one infected song (which is impossible, NO EXECUTABLE CODE) might infect iTunes which might in turn attack the computer it's running on.
You're the first person I've met that's ever argued against downloading ROMs because of paranoia of viruses, trojans and worms. :-/
@NintendoFanBoy305 it happend to me with my other computer just delete some useless stuff on your computer and your done :) (I know this was 5months ago but.....)
Google search "Frozen Roms" and go the second result. It should have "Neuigkeiten" in the title and be a ".in" domain. That is where I get my GBA and NDS ROMs.
no ofinse but that vidio could pobobly have bin sipler, shorter, and easyer to understand if you had rehused what you were going to do in the vidio more. (but i do think i got the basic jist of it)
Didn't have time to rehearse the "vidio" to make it "sipler" and "easyer" to understand because I was too busy preparing for a four month trip. You're lucky I had time to even post it at all.
And what I did in the video is what I do every time.
ok, I can understand that. I was just saying that I fond it heard to understand at some points. and the most of the computers that I have acsis to (I don't have my own persanel 1 yet) are slow and that it takes a wile for thim to compitly load a 12 minite vidio!
Yeah, I figured out how to do all of this stuff on my own and it took awhile, so I can see why you would say that.
Video processing is one of the most, if not THE most CPU-intensive processes one can put their computer through. It's not like saving a text file. It always takes a long time so save videos. Hell, when I was processing video, I would start it right before I went to bed, or right before I went out shopping or to the bar or something, so when I came back, it would be finished.
Already addressed that in the video description in one of the videos in this mini-series. Not to mention that I also talked about it in the first video. (The one on FCE Ultra.)
Which is kinda ironic, cause who the hell cares if you downloaded and played a Hit-selling game for free and that game stopped selling years ago? lol People need to use common sense
I was talking about your comment, the one where you were agreeing with this person for saying people need to use common sense, because, they would say they will not play a super awesome game because it stoped selling out years ago.
Do you know how to increase the recording resolution? If I record a GB game, the video resolution is 160x144, the GB's native resolution. That's too low.
That's the whole point of the video on processing emulator-recorded videos using VirtualDub, 4/4 in this series. Increasing the resolution from it's native resolution while recording isn't going to do you much good anyway.
Ok so Ijust download ffdshow compressor and I want to use it while recording but whenever I want to select the codec its not there. Help..........

If I remember correctly, his name is リュカ. It's a silent "s", I think. You can get it to put his name in for you by selecting おまかせ on the bottom left.

Heh, well, I've never seen the offical katakana for Lucas's name. I just entered the katakana for how I pronounce it - Lucas, with an "s".
I find it bizzare that his name is "Ryuka" (リュカ) instead of "Rukasu" (ルカス) or "Ruukasu" (ルーカス).
