I have a question. How are you coloring and shading yet the black outline of the sketch remains? Everytime I try the brush tool covers the outline. How do you make it so it doesn't?

When I colour I make a new layer and then set the new layer to "multiply". That way I can colour over the lines and it doesn't cover them.

alright i have just a few questions because im new at these thigys, do you have to make a new layer everytime you color some thing?

and how do you clean up the coloring so nicely?

also do you do yours on what opacity?

No, you don't NEED to make a new layer each time your colour a different section, it's just easier to keep track of. And also, if you got some colour into another area on the same layer, it would be hard to fix, but if it's on separate layers you can just erase it with no hassle.

I'm just using the eraser tool. Once I shade the area I merge my layers and then erase all the stuff outside the lines.

For flats it's 100% and for shading, it depends on if I find the shade is too harsh or not.

also nice job but u could also do some highlights with dodge on midtones and make some highlights on her hair and eyes and stuff. it takes longer but the overall effect is very nice ^.^

Lol, I almost never use dodge. If I want to highlight something I use a different layer setting with the same or lighter colour.

I also hardly ever do highlights on my pictures.

Very good, but just one thing baffles me. Not being negative, just wondering. Why didn't you use the paint bucket tool instead of the pen tool? It would go a lot faster.

I don't often open Photoshop by itself, I open the picture with photoshop, if you catch my drift XD

But if I'm going to draw I use "make photo creations".

and then set the click on RGB

It also sometimes has to do with the file type. If it is in a .gif file it will do that. I also have problems with .pngs.

Oh my gosh, how did you color so neatly?! All I have is stupid old Paint and when I color these things I have to go around the black and I have to stay in between the lines. It also dosn't shade...
