Drs. Warren and Gina Dorlac are very close friends of mine, they are heros from my perspective. I have known Warren since 4th grade, he is a great friend and supremely dedicated to taking care of our soldiers. Recently he had the option to retire but instead re-committed and is now serving our wounded again, at times in harm's way. Truly an American hero, as are all those who serve and those who serve them. Praise God for them all.
I saw this film the other night and I was brought to tears. The story of the young lady that lost her leg and may lose the other. I was in tears and I want to say THANK YOU to her and GOD BLESS her & the thousands of others like her now and in the future. I suffer froma traumatic brain injury and I feel it is not well known how many have one.Maybe from the misfortune of others, more research will be done and more funding will be given for Traumatic Brain Injury sufferers and their families.
I served at Balad Trauma Center and I can only say, my life will never be the same.I did things and seen things I will never forget, It was my honor to be there and do what I can to help the hero's on the battle field, and I will gladly return any time asked, as long as my brother and sister's in arms are being injured I want to be there to do my part to bring them home. I can not wait to see this, It will be released on DVD in May.
To all of you... especially those who have served (but also those who just support)... I LOVE YOU ALL! I'm not a hippie jackass, but I don't know how else to express it. I'm so proud to be associated with folks like you. I'm applying to the Uniformed Services University right now in hopes to serve, as well. Long live freedom, America, and the pursuit of happiness! =)
I served as an combat infantry officer in Vietnam 1968-1969. The commitment and heroism of my medics set me on the road to career in medicine and back to the military as a career medical officer. After 30 years of practice, I am still brought to tears by these images and care by my "Doc" so many years ago. I think that the care I have been able to give is but a small repayment for the sacrifice of so many of my friends, colleagues and brothers-in-arms. God bless them and God bless America.
I was an ICU doctor in that tent hospital this summer. Just watching the trailer brought back all the feelings and tears. I hope everyone will get to watch this movie to see what war really means. I have not been able to explain it.
A great and very important movie for all Americans to see. I am so impressed with the dedication and caring and real courage that is exemplified by our military medical staff and our soldiers. They truly are the best of our nation. I hope it can be shown in every movie theater in America.
I saw this today @ the Cleveland International Film Festival and as a RN I can't believe how amazing the movie is and how incredible what everyone overseas is doing! Everyone should have an opportunity to see this film ... it REALLY makes me EXTREMELY proud of this country!
Outstanding footage. It fills the need to know what our son-in-law, an Army doctor, is experiencing in Iraq. This isn't M*A*S*H. This is heroism in the face of exhaustion, fear and the unspeakable visual and auditory horrors that result from mankind's infliction of violence upon each other. Please release it to the entire country, so that all Americans may see it.
As a servicewoman myself(navy combat corpsman) I encourage all to see this movie if it is playing in your city. If it gets a good response, it goes nation wide.
I am a USU graduate. I've been to Iraq. I took care of these brave servicemen and women. All Americans need to understand the willing sacrifice of less than 1% of our population. Help bring this movie to wider distribution and tell your friends!
What can one say? This film makes it possible to connect to the life altering realities of war while honoring the magnificence of those who heal the bodies, minds and spirits.
Everyone should stand in line to see this, no matter what stance one takes on war. It is not the lines of print, or the sound bites, or the snippets of video. This film puts the human face on something that touches each one of us.
A few hours ago I was privileged to view the entire film "Fighting For Life". Like the Doctor said in the film - it doesn't matter whether you believe the war is right or wrong - we are there. We owe a great debt to the courageous men and women who fight for our freedoms and for the men and women who care for them from beginning to end. See the movie - tell all your friends to see it as well. God Bless America!!!!!
Everyone needs to get the chance to see this movie across America. Our sons and daughters need to see it - they are our future and they need to know the way things really are in a war, not just what they see in video games or movies. Please bring this movie to every town so that we may all understand more! Thank you to everyone out there fighting for our freedoms and those who are fighting to save the injured!!
Just met the director Terry Sander myself.
