Arisaka Type 99 was the replacement of the Type 38 rifle and was the primary Japanese battle rifle until their surrender to Allied forces. The 99 has symbol on the receiver is the Imperial Japanese Chrysanthemum. Im guessn yours 38 has been spoterized cause the foregrips normally extend to the end of the muzzle. (if it is a 38) but either or their all under 300 bucks easy. they have more sentimental value than resale value. Great hunting rifles though. (mainly the 6.5x5.5)
Alright the top rifle is a long barreled version of my own called the M/96 it was made in sweden by the two main manufacturers "Carl Gustav" or "Husqvarna" it would more likely be an earlier carl gustav i reckon. And it shoots the 6.5X55mm Swedish round.
I do think that the second one is an Arisaka. Most likely a replica. If you DO have the real deal though, keep it and sell it when you're like 85. Lol. :P
lmao well there the real deal man, passed down from grandfather from when he was is WW2, they are lagit and prolly worth a bunch but i aint gunna sell them lmao
actually i have an arisaka type 99 right next to me, and it looks the same as what you have. yours also doesn't have the seal of the emperor, your rifle and mine got the seal scratched out after the surrender of japan.
if you want to know FOR SURE, i found a website on google that translates the markings on the top of the rifle that will tell you the type of rifle and where it was manufactured. hope this helps :)
