Hinckley stated that the Lord revealed to Wilford Woodruff to discontinue polygamy and that it is now against the law of God. If anyone reads D&C 132:1-4, these verses is a preface to the Lord's explanation to polygamy (also known as the new and everlasting covenant). The Lord clearly states in verse 4 that anyone who doesn't abide or practice polygamy is damned, and anyone who rejects it can't dwell with God. Sounds like Hinckley is damning himself according to Mormon scripture. Go figure.

1. John Taylor received a revelation 4 years before commanding the saints to continue and it would never be taken. This is the basis for the fundamentalists which raises the question who was right, Taylor or Woodruff? It can't be both. One was leading his people astray.

Friend, the proof you are looking for does not exist. Because if it did exist, there would be no need for faith. There are, however, many native american stories about a white, bearded diety and his ministry to the people. There are also many anceint texts that have been discovered with hebrew origin. There is no proof. The book of Mormon is a work of fiction. There is no genealogical, archeological, metallurgical, and anthropolgical evidence to be found. Stop reading LDS apologetics. The only thing they do is try to obfuscate the issue and offer no real counter argument to all the science that points to Joseph Smith making up the whole thing, including his translation of the book of Abraham.
I forgot to mention no linguistic evidence as well. The recent Criddel Wordprint Study done at Stanford U shows that the BOM had several contributors/authors from the 19 century, namely: Sidney Rigdon, Solomon Spaulding, Oliver Cowdery. Their findings were published in the Oxford Journals, Literary and Linguistic Computing under the title "Reassessing Authorship of the Book of Mormon."

Hinckley stated that the Lord revealed to Wilford Woodruff to discontinue polygamy and that it is now against the law of God. If anyone reads D&C 132:1-4, these verses is a preface to the Lord's explanation to polygamy (also known as the new and everlasting covenant). The Lord clearly states in verse 4 that anyone who doesn't abide or practice polygamy is damned, and anyone who rejects it can't dwell with God. Sounds like Hinckley is damning himself according to Mormon scripture. Go figure.

Why was there a need for a 1900 manifest and a 1910 manifesto if it was so clear? Why can I look up GA's of the time in familysearch[dot]org and find they were married plurally? Look up (Brigham H Roberts) BH Roberts last wife was sealed to him plurally in 1900.

There's two problems with this argument:
1. John Taylor received a revelation 4 years before commanding the saints to continue and it would never be taken. This is the basis for the fundamentalists which raises the question who was right, Taylor or Woodruff? It can't be both. One was leading his people astray.
2. The Mormons didn't stop after the Manifesto they continued to practice it secretly for another two decades (Wilford included).

I have spent a lot of time researching the Catholic faith, and have found that few Catholic members actually understand the true doctrine of the church, and have instead turned the religion into a pagan religion by bowing down to statues. I don't believe that Jesus Christ taught to bow down to statues or pray to the virgin Mary.

I want some solid proff that the church is true. The book of Mormon doesn't count. If Jesus really came over to America to talk to the Native Americans, then I am sorry but there would be some kind of writting or pictures or something to show that he was here. This would have been a huge deal that there had to be stories or drawing or SOMETHING! Don't Mormons look at all these other "religions" that just start up out of no where and wonder how people can believe in them?

Friend, the proof you are looking for does not exist. Because if it did exist, there would be no need for faith. There are, however, many native american stories about a white, bearded diety and his ministry to the people. There are also many anceint texts that have been discovered with hebrew origin. It is all a matter of how hard you are willing to look. Search around. You may be suprised how much proof you find.

There is no proof. The book of Mormon is a work of fiction. There is no genealogical, archeological, metallurgical, and anthropolgical evidence to be found. Stop reading LDS apologetics. The only thing they do is try to obfuscate the issue and offer no real counter argument to all the science that points to Joseph Smith making up the whole thing, including his translation of the book of Abraham.

I forgot to mention no linguistic evidence as well. The recent Criddel Wordprint Study done at Stanford U shows that the BOM had several contributors/authors from the 19 century, namely: Sidney Rigdon, Solomon Spaulding, Oliver Cowdery. Their findings were published in the Oxford Journals, Literary and Linguistic Computing under the title "Reassessing Authorship of the Book of Mormon."

If the Spirit is so inclined to tell you that the BOM is true, by that ever so correct "burning in the bosom," why then, can't the Spirit tell you where it took place? Farms/Fairs and several other Mormon Apologists are at odds over that one. And the recent/current prophets, remain conspicously silent,knowing that scientific fact disputes any theory put forth (other than the fact that the BOM is fiction).

About Polygamy, why is it permitted in the old testament during ancient times and practiced by the prophets of the Lord like Abraham, DAvid, Solomon & others, then in Joseph Smith time he allow them to have more than one wife, its because its critical for the growth of the church despite many women/men dont like it, the Lord commanded them and some of them obey. But in the Lord take it away from them because men's heart are not ready to live the law, that's why President Hinckley forbid polygamy

Heavenly Father loves all his children, but he cannot force all of us to learn of Him and Jesus.
