I have watched this video and there is a lot of missleading information. How do I know this, because I am an actual meteorolgist. Yes indeed you can somewhat see what type of front is coming just by looking at what type of clouds, how ever you cannot predict the weather just by looking at clouds, there is a lot more to it than that. Also a cold front by definition is, "the leading edge of an advancing cold air mass" and warm front is "the trailing edge of a retreating cold air mass".
@nitrofkcirtap But isn't seeing what type of front is coming by observing the types of clouds approaching, predicting what kind of front is coming? The vid creator didn't make any claims that this was comprehensive weather forecasting & while this could be explored in depth more, your accusation of misleading is in-itself misleading, IMO. The scienctific explanation of WX fronts is nice to know, but not really important when what all U want to know is what sort of WX is approaching.
The sort of forecasting better suited to those who spend the day outdoors. No disrespect to the desk jockeys intended , but even if you have windowed office it's difficult to take note of the sky over head. Great video thanks for taking the time to make it.
You can learn so much on YouTube, I've learned how to fly a commercial airliner, perform simple surgery, and gotten my doctrine in quantum physics, all by spending a few hours on YouTube.
@SunsetSupermanRMB, I've literally learned to remove a bullet from an arm, perform CPR, dis-and reassemble an M16 and treat most basic wounds from a sprain to a displaced knee and im still a little confused about predicting leperosy (the last one is a joke lol)
Nimbocumulus should be properly called Cumulonimbus (CB).
As for the prefix "nimbo" no longer being used, that is incorrect, as there is the classification Nimbostratus (NS) - a cloud type I've reported all of once in my time as a contract weather observer. Maybe twice.
Uhhh there are no such clouds as "Nimbocumulus" clouds. When cumulus clouds start to heap on top of each other its called cumulus congestus and usually looks like a califlour shape. This heaping effect is caused by updraft winds pushing the clouds upwards. The thunderclouds are called Cumulionimbus clouds. Lastly, cirrus clouds can mean 2 things:

@nitrofkcirtap i have met people predicting weather for more than 2 weeks just by looking at the clouds. They have practiced it from a long time....

Pokerguy is only half right. Nimbocumulus WAS an actual cloud name, but in recent years, the scientific community stopped using the prefix 'nimbo'.
