I definitely don't play it the way Elliot originally played and it's certainly not note-for-note correct. I learned it by ear off of a cassette tape of album in the 80s when it originally came out. There are some versions by terrific players that an amazing job copying the original phrasing and position. I sure respect their talents. Playing guitar is so much fun. Elliott Easton is fantastic. Thank for watching my little offering. Best to you, Mike
Why don't you play the solo in the correct position? Starts on the 2nd string F# bend to a G#...as well you slide the 3rd string to a B for the second piece of the solo.
I've seen this played starting with a whole step bend starting on the 7th fret of the E string. I think this version is a lot more intuitive and fluid.
Thanks. Nothing like the playability of a Tom Anderson. That's a dark cherry burst teardrop finish. Elliott plays the solo in a different position. I learned it by ear off the 45 record years ago & landed there. Didn't know until years later where he had played it. It's such a creative, fun solo...

@mdavis876 Apparently I should have proofed my comment too, since I leave out words like I leave out notes. Ha

Nice job I love that solo. Also look at ZenDriveSeven who does a great cover of the solo and slows it down. Its a bit different...
