  • @mystycl Yes, from the show he used to host that was simply awesome in terms of his music and his musical guests. Just incredible.

  • mack jacks the shack jack

  • GOD THAT WAS GOOD.

  • noone does a better version than Dr John.

  • this is one of the sickest versions i have heard of this song....bass line kicks ass and the groove is soooo tight! beautiful

  • @skullfunked One of the best performances of this song! The two bass players are amazing!

  • what year was this filmed

  • ...anybody notice Jeff Healy on the right?

  • Kimpo, that sure looks like Marcus on bass. I know that Omar Hakim was the drummer. And the late Hiram Bullock on guitar. What a lineup!

  • Harim plays a killer solo. He anticipates the beat with precision. Check out how he leads into the downbeat with amazing feel and technique.

  • Legendary for sure!!!!!

It's great that Dr. John is coming to the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival this August!!

  • I just saw him LIVE in Mt. Pleasant,Michigan at the Soaring Eagle Casino just 10 hours ago,he opened for the Neville Brothers! He's 68 years old and can still jamm down with the best of them! New Orleans-boogie-blues-voodoo-funk was never better! I was in the RIGHT PLACE,and I made it at the right time!

  • the Doctor is always in, out? Way out>>>

  • Dear Hiram Bullock, glad you had some FUN-FUN-FUN with Mac before you passed!

  • This show was amazing. red hot chili peppers appeared, SRV, Clapton, Robert Cray, staple singers, you name it. House band was tight. Phenominal players. Omar, Marcus, hiram, Phillipe. Wow. Too bad DVD's of this show are not for sale!!!

  • Boggie woogie meets funk. Some beautiful shit man

  • Is that Marcus Miller on bass?

  • I remember staying up late with the GF just to watch this show w/ Jools Holland & David Sanborn. Memories.. Hiram was always awesome on guitar. Every song they did was right on. He really nailed those solos and rhythm parts. With impeccable tones, as always. When they used to have real music on TV..There's no soul like this in todays business class neutered "music"..

  • Rest In Peace Hiram Bullock.

  • sunnofabitch. This is horrible news. I don't even recognize his picture in the Wiki. When I saw him, playing with Sanborn at Red Rocks, he lit the whole place on fire. Sanborn's act was by and large super cheese... but Bullock had the whole place jumping up and down. He was a wiry dude then. (late 80s).

  • whose the guitar player is his name w.c clark?

  • Guitar player is Hirham Bullock.

  • empienne yeah I saw him at Camden Palace c1993 best concert ever I 've seen and I went to a lot then

  • Dr John, nuff said

  • Yep, saw him in London UK (Kentish Town) about 12 years ago. Since then, seen him in New Orleans. There's no stopping him. Awesome musician.

  • this is like my favorite song of all time....

  • no doubt about it...this song is great for the SPIRIT!!!!!

  • This man has talent! he's brilliant! there are many better examples of his playing and singing on YT (in my view)

  • Great footage of the doctor. I saw him live 20 years ago in a small venue, great show. This man has talent! Thanks for the video.
