I've never been able to comprehend it, I'm a girl by the way, I hate screaming girls, alot of people I know will react this way:

If someone comes up to them and taps them on the back suprised they scream and jump and all the other girls in the class either laugh or squel as well while me, the boys in the class and about 3 or so other girls will block our ears and become annoyed.

I deal with it all the time and I still don't understand the need for it
