  • this guy freaks me out !!

  • woooooooooooooooo

  • PART 1 to 4 seem to be missing? I've spent the last 2 hours or so admiring your build but I was curious about the mecanical build of the cage. From scrap, does that mean you fabricate the axles and gearings completely yourself? I hope to get to see the film of the finished built, great job so far. (including making the effort of documenting the entire built. on video...)

  • To - @clearlyme007

Parts 1 thru 4 are still there. You commented on part 4.

Yes, the chassis is scratch built. Other than the engine, transfer case and drive shaft I fabricated everything else.

  • Where did you get that little drivers seat at?

  • To - @ironoutlaw96

I made it out of wood.

  • @rcWizzard YOU'RE A GENOIUS!

  • i heard a gunshot at 0:11

  • To - @RazzlePlatinum

    Yes you did.

  • @rcWizzard was it fpsrussia?

  • To - @jadum1rollin1fresh

    What are you talking about??

  • @rcWizzard fpsrussia is a youtube man the shoots a dump load of guns he owns like 50+ guns so i was wondering do you live near him

  • To - @jadum1rollin1fresh

Never heard of him, where is he located?

  • @rcWizzard um really dont know but you should check him out hes awsome

  • @RazzlePlatinum It was more like 0:12

  • @TES1V who cares

  • @RazzlePlatinum I care for your hearing that is why I posted the comment.

  • @TES1V either way its still a gunshot

  • sounds like a .410

  • @RazzlePlatinum omg runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

  • make it 4 wheel stering

  • who are those fucking 18 idiots who dont like this??

  • @baptistedeschrevel

I think they were pissed when I pushed it, rather than drove it. :-)

  • @rcWizzard lol

well im a fan so no worry lol ;)

  • @rcWizzard lol

welle they gotta be patient :)

  • @rcWizzard they gotta be patient

  • @rcWizzard well they gotta be patient

ur work so far is awesome

but i do think that those single disk brakes make it more realistic on the braking

    do as u like ;-)

  • @baptistedeschrevel

No they don't. The brake should be on the drive shaft coming into the differential.

  • @rcWizzard thats not what i ment

i ment the braking power :)

  • @baptistedeschrevel

I see. But it's the twin disks that gave it the better braking power.

You are referring to video part 19, correct?

  • @rcWizzard yes yes

i know they gave better braking power but monster trucks cant lock up they slow down very fast like the single disks

  • @rcWizzard yeah

but monster trucks dont lock up

they slow down very fast like the single disks

  • @baptistedeschrevel

If you spent $1000's on a project, and over 1000 hours building it, would you want the brakes to just slow it down, or STOP it? Remember this things weights over 80 lbs.

  • @rcWizzard well u do want realism right??

  • @baptistedeschrevel

    Oh Yes!

If my Monster Stops better than the real thing, I'm OK with that.

  • @rcWizzard ok :-)

  • i would PAY to hold that camera for him!!!

  • amazing ¡¡¡

  • you seem like an expert machinist and im sure if u put ur mind to it you could make an adapter plate so that you could make the supercharger fit ur motor.

  • Building a 1/4 scale fun buggy. Been brain storming for months trying to figure out what I could get a ring and pinion out of and was wondering what yours were from. I heard in your vid that they were 5B diffs and that you had the ring gear machined but didn't realize they were one off gears. In the process of bulding a wiper motor steering servo too.

  • Trying to do something similar what did the ring & pinion come out of ? thanks

  • @shugunga

Trying to do something similar to what?

Rear diff is from a HPI 5B with custom machined bevel gears.

  • heheh i was thats funny

  • Whhhooooa! What a bad ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you're going N/A on the conley V8? no s/c to power the giant RC? :D

how long do those engines usually last? I'm guessing you measure it in 1/4 miles :D

haha j/k nice project though :D

  • @jakashh

I have an older version V8. The Conley Blower will not fit it.

  • this is a great idea me and my friend are always playing with little ones we wnanted to do something like this but it looks like you beat us to it but its cool so far ill give you my opinion in the end:D

  • is it going to be rc

  • @RamenBoyFTW

Yes. Read earlier comments regarding 4WD.

  • can you make a vid for your small trucks

  • I'd like to but not sure when I'll get to it.

  • yea please make a video for the small trucks!

  • @BUTTPHACEKILLA

Check out videos A thru C.

  • @diggerfreaky

Check out videos A thru C.

  • its only 2wd why isnt it 4wd?

  • I want to wait to see how my current gearing works for the rear. If it works good then I'll do a new front end with drive and steering, which will be a major Challenge. I do not have a CNC machine. It's a Smithy 3-in-1. 20 years old, But still works Great!!

  • man you have way more patience then me, I could never finesh a project like that. nice work, I love it

  • did u make that or did in come in a set to make

  • It's all scratch built. Except the engine.

  • did you drive him

  • No not yet, still have a lot to do.

  • Check out video Part 11B.

Not sure if I'll make it 4WS.

  • were did you get the car plez responde

  • This Truck is scratch built, in my basement.

  • if you were my dad, i'd be the happiest kid on earth

  • Until I made you cut the lawn, so I can work on this project.

  • did you make the chassis your self, if so what welder did you use? you did a good job

  • Yes.

A Lincoln Pro-MIG 175, with the Argon Gas.

    Thanks.

(The welds are ugly but strong)

  • "To beeee continiued" eveery time! xD

  • bad ass

  • What was that??? Needs to be pushed by hand?? LOL.

Just kidding.. this is an amazing project, is coming up amazingly... quite an acomplishment to fabricate the needed parts.

Keep up the good work mate!

  • WHOOO HOOO!! To be continued

  • hey you forgot one thing, the tubes on grsve digger are green!

  • I still have parts to make and weld to the chassis. Then I'll Powder Coat green.

  • cooL!

  • not always. In the beginning they are green but as time goes on and parts break, the chasis and tubes turn black where the parts break

  • at :13, is that a gunshot?

  • Yes, I believe it was.

    Good ears.

  • wow

  • that thing is going to be sick when its finished

  • put a big motor on it and make it loud

  • hahaha, for those hwo want to see it moove! seriously though, holy hell thats one hell of a job fabricating, kudos, seriously, like fuck yes this is sick lol

  • everyone would like to have one of it or to buy it from you but when you hear the price no one will be intereswted in it anymore

  • that takes 700-800 hours to build? it doesn't look bad and i'm sure there is a lot more than i think to it, but it sure doesn't look like you spent 800 hours on it...still 5 stars.

  • A lot more.

    Thanks.

  • LOL

  • where did you get the motor ....and by the way wooohoo!

  • E-bay.

Check out the new Version at

    ConleyPrecision. com

  • thats amazibg?how much $ could i give you to make me 1?

  • Well, materials (so far) is around $2000.00, NOT including the Conley. Time, I'd say maybe 700 or 800 hours, I like to get $25 an hour, and I'm not finished yet. Still have a while to go before done. What's your best offer??

  • man can u make one for me? ure awesome

  • get this thing running allready!?!?!?! lol

  • How hard would it be to get quad steer?

  • I would have to make a new rear axle, maybe 50 to 60 hours.

  • where do you get something like that?

  • You can't buy one, you have to Make one.

  • Like the part at end... lol, well done.

  • hahahaha thats awsome

  • this truck is awesome conley is such a great motor

  • lol i just about damn near fell out of my seat, at the end, "for those of you who are anchious to see it move" "whoo hoo"!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what kind of differentials are those

  • The gearing is a HPI 5B diff with bevel gears machined to fit. The housing, tubes and center I made on my Smithy Metal Lathe.

  • have you finished it yet

i see this vid is from feb.

  • Did you see parts 5 and 6.

No, it's not done yet. Will be many months before it's done.

  • yes i have seen them

i'm sure it will look good when it is finished though b/c it looks good now

  • Please don't take this the wrong way, but... 2 WHEEL DRIVE???? You got a $5K into an engine and some really nice machine work going on, why leave out the guts of the truck??? I'm sorry, but I expect a bit more from an "rc Wizzard" you better start work on a new front axle Merlin! All joking aside, you have done some exceptional work, congrats...

  • Thanks Ron. My thinking is:!! Before spending another 30+ hours on a front Axle, Make SURE the rear one is going to work the way I want it to, THEN make the front one. Plus making the front with Drive and Steering is going to be even more challenging than the rear was. I wish I could wave my wand but this project does not come with instructions.

    Stay Tuned...............

  • dude you should make a scale grave digger #1. that would be insane. then show it to dennis anderson.

  • Dude, you've got to stop repeating yourself!

  • lol nice truck

  • dude you should make a scale grave digger #1. that would be insane

  • lol for those who are anxious to see it move,(gives it a little shove) lol

  • lol, id of punched u wen u said 'for those that are interested to see this thing move' i was excited hahaha. really great work, ill be waiting to see the end product

  • when will be finish

  • Hope to have it running by next Memorial Day, end of May. But may not have a complete body.

  • awesome,do you have a body to fit it?keep up the great work.

  • I have to make a body. I will make molds out of wood and vacuum form separate body panels, then screw or rivet them together. The first piece will be the hood and fenders.

  • thats awesome cant wait to see it.

  • you should start a forum on rcuniverse dot com

  • yeah i know what your talkin about....by the way, dont worry about these guys who "cant wait", they've never worked on an intricate project like this themselves so they dont know how long, or how much money it takes. keep up the good work.

  • where did you took that engine

  • From E-bay.

  • how much was it

  • $1650.00 Shipping included.

  • damn thats cheap, most of those mini v8's cost arround 30k

  • No they're not.

Check out Conleyprecision dot com Under 7k for the Supercharged version.

Mine was 15 years old at that price.

  • yea for real looking ones his is mosly machined from a block of iron/steel the better ones is cast iron and more work went into the engine and run way better also like a real car.

  • hahahaha thats awsome

    WHOOOOO

cant wait to see this done

  • Approx. how long do you think it will take you to have another vid.

  • Well, the only visible difference since #4 is the sway-bars. I've been working on the internal shafts inside the axle tubes and have 1 Alum hub Almost done. So next weekend 3/22/08 I hope.

  • Awesome

  • I dont know if you have thought of this but you may need some sway bars or something to keep the body from leaning when it is ready to move. Just a thought.

  • Read the earlier comments. Yes, sway bars are installed now, Major improvement.

    Thanks.

  • lol i want that

  • Is it going to be 4x4?

  • 2WD at first. Then if the gearing works good, then I'll make it 4X4.

  • release another video!!!!!!!

    i wanna see it!!

    please!!!!

  • Did you see the other 3? Click on "More from: rcWizzard". I like to wait until I've made some progress before doing another video.

    Stay tuned.....

  • i have seen the others.

    thats why im so interested.

been following it for a while now.

fine make more progress il try to be patient.

and i am tuned. (well, subscribed)

    lol, see ya.

  • that is awsome

  • nice nice lol....

  • I know you're busy, but how much would you charge to build someone one of these?

  • You would laugh at me. It's so labor intensive, and I'm not finished with this one yet so I don't know the full amount of time it's going to take. I would have to say over 10k.

  • Hey, I won't laugh. I understand. I would like to build a custom 1/5 scale on road, but it'd be hard and expensive, like you said. You need to start a website. If you like building these, you could make some money!

  • sounds good! what r u planning on useing for a body??

  • Like everything else in this project I have to make it. I will make molds out of wood and vacuum form separate body panels, then screw or rivet them together.

  • got any more vids??

  • No, been busy working on it. Improving the shocks, making them oil filled with a bladder on top. Made a sway bar for the front, big improvement. Working on one for the rear.

    Stay tuned!

  • The only thing I'd change about the truck is to make it a little wider, maybe with offset wheels. You'd have a killer stance then.

  • Then the tires would be beyond the body line and not be true to scale. I want it to look like a Real Grave Digger.

  • Good point! Okay.

  • I can't wait to see this thing GO.

  • when u going to finish it i want to see the finished product in action!

  • You, Me and many other YouTuber's.

    Stay tuned!!!!

  • Don't mean to be a pessimist, but what are you going to do if that Conley doesn't propel the thing very well? Make a multi-speed transmission? That would kick ass.

  • The center transfer case is machined so I can attach a Zenoah 23 to 29cc trimmer engine. Which would also mean I can take out the water tanks, an 8 pound saving.

  • Well good thing you have a plan B.

  • What color are you going to paint the wheels?

  • Silver, just like the Grave Digger. Power Coated that is.

  • Very plush suspension, to- very realistic looking.

    How heavy is that frame?

  • The chassis is 13 lbs. Right now the truck is 65 lbs. Ouch! 40 of that is the wheels/tires.

  • I just added all your 1/4 scale vids to favorites. Keep 'em coming.

  • Haha, it moved! YAY!!! Just kidding, that thing totally kicks butt. Better thatn Chuck Norris. Anyway, what would happen if you mounted a snowmobile turbo to that Conley?

  • Dude, stay Real!

  • You're not going to use those tiny suspension links for the finished product, are you?

  • Why Yes!! Those "Tiny Links" are made of STEEL!!

  • They just don't look proportional, and as if they would get ruined immediately with any hard core driving... Probably not going to, but you know what I'm getting at?

Did you custom make the links or did you buy them?

Anyway, great progress. I love the amount of effort you've put into this project, and can't wait to see more.

  • The next size up are to Big. And the mounting brackets would need to be bigger which would make them look "out of Scale".

I bought the links, no way I could make them.

    Thanks!!

  • very great job!!!

I'm raring to see it run, jump...who said crach my F350HiLift? glups!

    for now! SOOOOOOOO NIICE!

    JED ;)

  • Grave Digger has been my favorite ever since I was very young. I think you're brilliant for making this project and I can't wait to see it finished. Keep up the good work man. It's fucking awesome.

  • This project seems to be going backwards. You had the motor running in it in part 2.

Will you get it done anytime soon?

  • Actually the first video I was running it. The mount was temporary so I could run it at Grave Diggers Dungeon last May, for the RC Monster World Finals. And it's easier to work on with it out. I hope to have it running (meaning moving) by this May, for the next race at the Dungeon but doubt it will be complete. Meaning power coated, a complete body and detailed.

  • this truck will be killer once completed! are you gunna run 4ws? that would only do justice to the whole monster truck theme. where you gunna get a 1/4 digger body?

  • I'd have to make a new rear axle tube, ouch. But yes, 4WS would add to the realism. Depends on how well the front steering works when I make it 4WD.

"Get a body" no man I have make one. Will make wooden molds to vacuum form the body panels, then bolt or rivet together.

  • Patiently waiting for the completion, have een hooked since vid 1, it's gonna kick so much ass!!!

  • i've been following this build and i've gotta say thats the best thing i've ever seen lets see a bettervid of it though i wanna c it next to you and the size comparison.... are those conley v8's run by glow plugs??? thats what some one told me and i wasnt too sure

  • Thanks man. The video loses quality after loading up to Youtube, frustrating. I'll have to get my neighbor to take the next one, and mid day rather than evening. Yes, the Conley is run by glow plugs, so it rev's up quick.

  • i cant WAIT to see it run

  • Nice to see some more updates - I'm really looking forward to this, and wish you the very best of luck =)
