@RickTHEBassist15 Actually, it's pretty easy to build a Hackintosh and fix Macs without any help from Apple. Macs have pretty much the same guts as a PC does, the main difference is the OS. And while it may not be you personal preference, I think OS X is a nice OS for both "nerds" and the "retards" you mentioned that don't know anything about computers. For the record, I use a PC.

More features doesn't mean it's better; Microsoft has a lot of features that get in the way of things. I just want a computer that is stable and that's it, and then use advanced 3rd party software

It's funny because you can pay 10-15 bucks to have that trial software wiped from the hard drive before delivery. It's called a clean install, so you don't get that useless bloatware :)

Then of course that doesn't matter if while trying to keep up on Fanstasy Football stats that the security hole called "Safari" keeps crashing.. So I downloaded Firefox (which runs great on my Win7 machine) and it has the same problem, too bad it thinks it's at fault, it opens up with the "Well this is embarassing" Safari? It tells you that you are fcked when a hacker owns your machine and wipes it.

Lol. My PC (when I'm finished assembling it) is $1500, my laptop was $700, my camera was $300, my Adobe software is roughly $900. It's not a matter of being able to afford a Mac. It's a matter of spending my money wisely. Now, if I went out and bought a Mac, I wouldn't be doing that. But thank GOD that's not the case.
I can make a pretty good guess that 95% of people bashing Macs are those who have barely used them. I've used BOTH Microsoft-based "PCs" and various types of Macs (Mac Pro, iMac, MacBook Pros) for many, many years, and can say without doubt, the Mac is a far superior system in general. I used to play PC games on 16GB of RAM on a Mac Pro when Windows computers would only recognise 4GB. At that time, Windows XP took 2 minutes to boot up fully, whereas the Mac took less than 20 seconds. Macs own.

Eh-hem. The server version of Windows XP (which honestly cost no more than the Professional version) would support up to 128GB of RAM. But that was then. Now, a simple 64-Bit version of Win 7 Pro can recognize up to 196GB RAM, and 16GB, by todays standards in a PC, is cheap, and low in amount. By comparison, putting 16GB of low grade RAM in a Mac Pro...totally over priced.

Not true. In fact, as each day goes by, less and less programs will work on Windows XP. You're forgetting that we've moved into the 64-Bit environment. That automatically shelves the performance of programs like Adobe Suite CS5 which are encumbered by a 3.5GB RAM maximum. Approximately 30% of first-gen SATA drives are unrecognizable by XP upon initial install, and now we are moving into the realm of SSD. All you ar doing is prolonging the inevitable. Time waits for no one.
Got XP too and it still works like the day I bought it (a little better because of network though). Always will be a Windows dude, just can't stand iMacs!

Well I think it's clear. Mac is for people with cash to burn who want a sexy, beautiful, simple, well thought out, and easy-to-use OS. It is great for doing relatively simple tasks like managing photos and simple videos, simpler office functions, browsing, music, porn. PCs are for people who want more power (only an issue with massive games and extreme video editing), cheaper price, and complex office software. Understand?

I think it's funny how people always depict PCs just to be better with "games", but really, they're simply more POWERFUL (leading to why they're better for games). I need to add another favorite part of my Mac, it is really light. Then of course that doesn't matter if while trying to keep up on Fanstasy Football stats that the security hole called "Safari" keeps crashing.. So I downloaded Firefox (which runs great on my Win7 machine) and it has the same problem, too bad it thinks it's at fault, it opens up with the "Well this is embarassing" Safari? It tells you that you are fcked when a hacker owns your machine and wipes it.

Lol. My PC (when I'm finished assembling it) is $1500, my laptop was $700, my camera was $300, my Adobe software is roughly $900. It's not a matter of being able to afford a Mac. It's a matter of spending my money wisely. Now, if I went out and bought a Mac, I wouldn't be doing that. But thank GOD that's not the case.

I can make a pretty good guess that 95% of people bashing Macs are those who have barely used them. I've used BOTH Microsoft-based "PCs" and various types of Macs (Mac Pro, iMac, MacBook Pros) for many, many years, and can say without doubt, the Mac is a far superior system in general. I used to play PC games on 16GB of RAM on a Mac Pro when Windows computers would only recognise 4GB. At that time, Windows XP took 2 minutes to boot up fully, whereas the Mac took less than 20 seconds. Macs own.

Eh-hem. The server version of Windows XP (which honestly cost no more than the Professional version) would support up to 128GB of RAM. But that was then. Now, a simple 64-Bit version of Win 7 Pro can recognize up to 196GB RAM, and 16GB, by todays standards in a PC, is cheap, and low in amount. By comparison, putting 16GB of low grade RAM in a Mac Pro...totally over priced.

Not true. In fact, as each day goes by, less and less programs will work on Windows XP. You're forgetting that we've moved into the 64-Bit environment. That automatically shelves the performance of programs like Adobe Suite CS5 which are encumbered by a 3.5GB RAM maximum. Approximately 30% of first-gen SATA drives are unrecognizable by XP upon initial install, and now we are moving into the realm of SSD. All you ar doing is prolonging the inevitable. Time waits for no one.

Mind you, I only have a rudimentary knowledge of how to use a mouse and look at a computer screen, I have no amateur OR professional training in computer literacy, and sometimes I forget where the "on" button is on my computer....but despite all of that, it only took me FIVE minutes to remove the bloat ware from my PC.
Then again, I'm not SO fucking retarded that it should prove to be a task for me.

Well I think it's clear. Mac is for people with cash to burn who want a sexy, beautiful, simple, well thought out, and easy-to-use OS. It is great for doing relatively simple tasks like managing photos and simple videos, simpler office functions, browsing, music, porn. I could go on forever, but I'll just stick with saying "simpler stuff". PCs are for people who want more power (only an issue with massive games and extreme video editing), cheaper price, and complex office software. Understand?

@Harresd You're wrong. Powerful Macs are indeed used in the science world. I work in the science world and several Mac Pros are used there. As for being useless at games, funny how my brother has a Mac Pro and used it to play PC games (via Boot Camp) with 16 GB of RAM several years ago when PCs wouldn't even recognise that much RAM! So your response is total rubbish.

What you're forgetting is that Apple's growth is attributed solely to iPad and iPhone sales, yet ironically they only hold 25% of the mobile market, with Android gobbling up a whopping 50%. On the home computer line, Macs only account for a 6% worldwide market share, which is abysmal considering they held a 4.7% market share back in 2007. And he's right....Apple Insider has confirmed that Apple will probably be axing the Mac Pro due to several years of lackluster sales.

How? They are currently between 5%-6% of the global market, and only 15% of the entire US market. I fail to see how their share of the computer market has grown much at all. More like, remained stagnant. Fact is, Apple wouldn't even be doing THAT well if MS didn't allow them to run Windows. Take that away, and you'll begin to see Mac sales drop like like a rock.

While you piss your money away because you don't know how to avoid viruses (hint: use a free AV or dual boot with Ubuntu and look at your porn there), we'll actually be building a quality system that has up to date parts, unlike your Mac, which, even 3 years ago, was already outdated by 3 years.

It's security software will tell me in most cases, the Mac I own woudn't admit a mistake if beachballs sucked the life the thing and froze it. Yet, 30 minutes ago I had to give it the old one finger restart. Last time I had to do that to with Win 7 machine? Oh.. Never. Of course, after running for months, I just ran SP1 and had to reboot.. Mac battery rocks though!

I think it's funny how people always depict PCs just to be better with "games", but really, they're simply more POWERFUL (leading to why they're better for games). Plus Macs ARE NOT better for design work, that's a complete and utter lie. A PC can do just as well as a Mac with "creative life" stuff, especially since you get better parts.
But the real reason I prefer PC is because of... you guess it, customization. I like having my own designed PC.
