All I can say is that surely that actress didn't made her research before saying these things and she seams not being into it at all. So lets not flame on this Karen girl. But this answer is true. Movies and books are not better than video games and indeed nothing is perfect.

i like how she promotes extensively all other forms of literature execpt video games, its true some video games r total horse shit baths (two worlds, mahunt 2, thats right, fuck u ), but i find most modern forms of literature today to be just disgusting to the point i would like to light my TV on fire or the nearest bookstore, in comparison to the great works of the past, this stuff is fuckin horse shit. i just cant belive this person is so retarted, i find some games to be an escape from shit.

You need to check your facts and figures dude. DVDs are NOT £20, and games these days are partly film. "Ripper" a PC game from the 90's had Christopher Walken in it, many consider him a "real" actor, now in 2010 almost all top line games have actors doing voice and motion capture work. Karen Dupe may be well spoken and intelligent, but she is also missinformed and in the above arguement almost completely wrong.

Theres actually people who dont spend hours on end playing games and have normal lives who just play to have fun and even they, me being one, are offended by it. She doesn't just talk about theyre importance but she also talks about how expensive they are. And like Alhorian says, yes theyre expensive but they're not getting more so, unlike DVD's and Blu Ray discs. Video games can inform, obviously entertain, and can educate. Yes, they're not as important as those but theyre not a waste of time.
Games are mostly for leisure, but they can be educational. Like Alhorian said, Brain Training, some World War II games can be educational if they're not just a fictional part of World War II made up for the game, and some games can just teach you things about life. Now, lik I said, they are mostly for leisure but that's not to say they can't be educational sometimes.

Theres actually people who dont spend hours on end playing games and have normal lives who just play to have fun and even they, me being one, are offended by it. She doesn't just talk about theyre importance but she also talks about how expensive they are. And like Alhorian says, yes theyre expensive but they're not getting more so, unlike DVD's and Blu Ray discs. Video games can inform, obviously entertain, and can educate. Yes, they're not as important as those but theyre not a waste of time.

Games are mostly for leisure, but they can be educational. Like Alhorian said, Brain Training, some World War II games can be educational if they're not just a fictional part of World War II made up for the game, and some games can just teach you things about life. Now, lik I said, they are mostly for leisure but that's not to say they can't be educational sometimes.

I actually did learn a couple things from a few games but thats not exactly my point. Youre saying you cant learn anything from them, but it is POSSIBLE, Im not saying it happens all that much but it is possible. And thats not all of what I was saying either, you said all gamers are just lifeless losers who just play video games all fucking day and do nothing else when theres loads of people who just play them as something fun and dont spend theyre lives on them and fun is in no way a bad thing.

Karen Dupe is an ignorant bitch, I can see where she might get these ideas (and they are certainly not her own original ideas) but if she actually did any reasearch she would find without a doubt that she is very wrong and "her" opinions (which she states as facts) only apply to a handful of examples at best.
