At first, this dub felt weird to me, as I saw the Japanese version first, but now it goes on and Gabu and Mei sound quite natural now. I did feel that Tapu/Tapper and Mii/Mina's voices perfectly suited them immediately though.

When I first watched this movie earlier today in Japanese, I totally thought Mei was going to fall in love with Mii/Mina and he would be stuck between her and Gabu XD

@imissrose123 Mii became Mina because her name sounded too much like "me" in english, so I modified it slightly to reduce any confusion for any really young viewers. Tapper was Tapu in Japanese, and mostly adjusted to help fit the animation better in places when Mina was talking with him. I actually kind of regret that change now, should have left it as Tapu, but never mind.

Mii was changed to Mina because the name sounds too much like "me" and "Mei", so it was mostly to avoid confusion. Tapu became Tapper as a rather obscure reference to another Anime; there are a couple in the movie if you know what to listen for.

And there was no need for Mei to say the code to Mina, and besides it would have been difficult to rework the rest of the dialogue around it.

The voiceactors for Mei and Gabu are pretty settled in now, and they will be going back to redo the first two sections of the movie to improve the quality of those sections. Whilst we have a voice for Giro, we're not sure if we're quite happy with it, and may consider recasting it.

Why when Mei is describing his friend does he use the pronoun "them"? It sounds unnatural. He should just say "he" since there's no secret to his friend's sex (just species :-) )

Also, I have to say I really like Mina's voice here. Fits very well but is just a little bit "flat" (needs more real emotion, not just script reading) but this is a problem with Mei as well- I pointed this out way back in the first video.

Gabu's voice has totally grown on me, I can only say good job on that one!

Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed with Tapper's voice. It's cartoony to the point of being a parody. Makes him sound like a complete idiot. I know Tapper isn't supposed to be a very serious character but come on...

Mina definitely needs more expression, but the voiceactor we have for now is a stand-in until we get a better one, but it's passable for now. Mei's earlier lines are going to be revisited for re-recording now that the voiceactor voicing him is settling in (compare the first vid to this one and you'll see the difference). As for Tapper... he's comic relief, just as Zack and Beach are.

We're happy with most of them, but the substitute Mii/Mina isn't quite what we had in mind. For the final release we are still considering a different voice.

I'd like to repeat that I think Mina's VA is very good. It seems I'm not the noly one either. You should seriously give her a shot at the final cut; she only needs slight improvement. I think she's on par with Mei's VA in the first part, and he improved with practice. Give her more time to settle into her role and I think she'll do a fine job. :-)

Of course it's not my decision ultimately, but please, give it some thought.
