BTW the mic and audio stage on the camera is appalling, next to useless. It only has preset gain levels, no good if you want to use an off camera mic. Which you would because the on board one is shite. Only of use as a sync track for an external audio track.

Frame at 1080p is in fact 23.97. The frame rate mimics the 35mm film at 24fps. Early digital stills and DSLRs would only shoot in 30fps exactly, not the drop frame required for NTSC which is 29.97. This results in poor audio sync.

The Nikon suffers badly from rolling CMOS shutter wobble at high speeds. A variable ND keeps the shutter speed below 1/100th for smooth pans and motion. That's why the wave motion is 'jerky'. Worse with a 400mm. Never shoot over 1/100th with a CMOS rolling shutter.

I've shot old flm cameras for a long time and was a bit "anti digital"..I never even owned a point and shoot digicam...just figured with how old my equipment was getting (about 40 years old) and such, would make sense to join the rest of the world. Ended up getting the d7000 and could NOT be any happier. The camera is unreal in terms of build quality and picture taking quality. Rivals or surpasses that of even higher models. I didn't want to spend the money..but after buying it, it's a steal.

@cajayjin there is no such thing as 25fps in america, that is the standard frame rate for europe. So if you bought the camera in europe it would be 25fps PAL not 24fps NTSC which is what america uses.

@NovaEraCZ Ano, tahle Sigma je udajne vyjimka. Jinak co mam Nikkor 17-55/2.8, Tamron 17-50/2.8, Tamron 180/3.5 a Nikkor 70-300 VR, tak funguje AF pri zivem nahledu normalne. Tady jsem dal i video s kontinualnim ostrenim z posledne jmenovaneho objektivu:

@NovaEraCZ Zalezi na tom jakym kameram ;) Filmove kamery s vymenymi objektivy ostri manualne. Amaterske ci profesionalni tricipovky ostri samozrejme rychleji, ale ten pidi senzor neumoznuje zadnou vetsi kreativitu s DOF. Ta "sekanost" je 24fps.
