my family spent spring break 2010 in San 'Diego. everything was amazing and beautiful, down town,old town, la jolla, coronado island, pacific beach. this year (2011) we are going to New York in times square, what a difference it will be.
San Diego, a truly nice city....if you can afford to live in one of the decent parts. If not, it is not so pleasant, you will have a hard time insulating yourself from the filthy aspects of this city. Downtown has some great areas, but, it also has a lot of areas filled with drugged out dirty bums crapping/urinating on the sidewalks. Neighborhoods south and east of downtown are pretty sketchy. North of town is your best bet if you only speak english.
@MsPopeye1977: Thank you for the kind comment. San Diego is definitely a beautiful destination. So much to do and pretty close to perfect climate. I always enjoy going there. I hope you have a chance to visit San Diego again.
