There's some extremely shitty metal out there, especially in the nu-genre, and you guys are afraid a single band's slight modifications of a singer's voice will bring about the end of metal?

Nothing can kill the metal. If anything, this could be a gateway into heavier stuff. Metal's like a drug after all. Starts very easy and chill, but eventually you'll want stuff that stimulates you more.

Before we know it, we have more supporters for proper melodeath and power metal :>

@LasstUnsSpielen Say whatever you want, but big changes are brought about by small beginnings. Not that i think of Serenity as the big trend setters of the genre, but if we accepted this then who knows what other bands/artists might want to try experimenting with this shit.

I just don't feel like this would be a good direction for anyone and would rather strike it down in the beginning rather than let it keep on rolling.

@mikespar13 I understand that, and can respect that to a certain extent, but as it stands this kind of voice mod just doesn't soind very good :/

I like the clean metal voices better (meaning there's no modification, not that i don't listen to growl/screamo 'cause those i could consider "clean" as well) because they just sound better most of the time. And personally i believe that it's the flaws of a singer's voice that truly makes him/her recognizable.

Just my personal thoughts on the subject.

This effect on the voice is ruining it. The voice sounds off and doesnt fit the rest at all... Its 5min the same speed and melody and voice. Also, never heard the violin. Did I just miss it or is it really not present? This is unbelievable average and uninspired. No variation at all.

But I guess bands need to release a music video for the song on their album that is commercially viable, rather than their "strongest" song on the album.
