I remember that day. I had worked early and had been off for about an hour or so. I was driving around town when a vehicle marked Texas Tech crossed my path, intrigued (&unaware of the storm) I followed to figure out what they were doing. When I realized what was up, then inner Texan in me took over, I took one glance at the clouds, called my mom at her workplace and told her to either buckle down or get home and headed home myself. That was a powerful storm, one in a series that summer.
@neondeath07 That storm really did pack a punch without a doubt! Good call calling your mom and warning her, and about heading home. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Waw, what a wonderful and spectacular hailstorm !!!!!! I am so glad to see on this forum how many weather enthustiats are there, since my childhood I wanted to be surrounded by people who liked the clouds and severe weather. I regret that I can't move to America for stomchasing.
That hail was about golf ball size, and it lasted for over 30 minutes. However....we were for a while intentionally staying in the hail. there were some small dents on my vehicle as well, but we have hail guards protecting the glass. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice hail coverage! My father took a rare color home movie in 1953 before and after the tornado in Worcester ,MA. It was the 20th deadliest tornado in US history. It killed 94 people. I put it on Youtube.
Incredible, Scott!!! This was one of my favorite sequences from your 2009 DVD! In addition to the hail, I love that motion between 1:55 and 2:18, especially with the rainbow in the shot! And that tree getting shredded at the Sinclair station is insane! 5/5
That was such a fun chase day! So glad you enjoyed the vid, and my DVDs Michael! And yes, the trees getting shredded was nuts!! For a while there those storms really looked like they were going to produce, but they couldn't quite get there. Still though, a great chase day none the less :)
How many dents did you have after this?

@RustbeltFilms A bunch of little ones, but that's ok. I bought my Xterra for storm chasing so the dents were expected :) Thanks for watching!

I love hail! Beautiful hail:) And even a rainbow appeared!
I have a few questions:
1) What is the diameter of more or less had the hail? (you can compare to the vegetables or fruit)
2) How many hail lasted?
3) And if the hail has damaged your car?
A beautiful movie 5 / 5

@7luckystar It really was an amazing storm. And while hail can be extremely destructive, I'm amazed at it at the same time.
