@bigmagic96 Even in '83 reaching the Christmas No1 meant something special and it was the position where every band wanted to be . 'My Oh My' still got lots of exposure at that time : somehow I think that Slade were happy with it's impact and it's deserved success.

Was great around xmas time in 83, The Mighty Slade were back and threatening another xmas number one. Such a shame they didn't quite manage it. Will love em forever !!

BTW Slade were probably the best live act EVER so they did not need to prove anything after they stopped giving live performances after 1983. Can you refer to a better and more versatile rockband? With REAL tunes? Continuously evolving and diversifying during their entire careers? Metallica is RUBBISH compared with this.
