Watch the whole video, they listen and are very respectful once he starts playing the tune. He's just tuning and getting his sound sorted out in the beginning.
Very talented! I would have just fell down and died on the spot- his voice is just wonderful! The audience doesn't seem to realize they are in the presence of an icon.
Amazing talent! I would have been there in complete silence anticipating the next note.. I can't believe people were talking over the music. Clueless audience. If I were there, I would have grabbed the guitar from Lake's hands and gone "postal".
I can't believe that these folks are actually talking over the music. They got a golden moment and it was wasted on the next generation. I should have been there with the rest of us...

This IS my favorite rock song of all time.... I like that he didn't rush it.... the guitar sounds great as well.... my band plays this song and it's a lot of fun...especially having a good keyboardist for the end solo.... Lake and Emerson are on tour here in the states.... hope to see them in Annapolis, Maryland in April at The Rams Head Tavern.....
wish i knew what kind of guitar this is...sounds fantastic. And it's true about the lack of respect some people have for people who can play music like this.. They just don't have a clue...let's just be thankful it wasn't us. Greg Lake is one of a kind.
This is a great song. I used to really be into this group back in the day. Tarkus, twirling piano, etc... What a show! Thanks for bringing back memories.
Why weren't half those fucks paying attention to this genius and his song? Fuck I'm glad I was around and paying homage to real talent when the drugs and sheer genius were real (you fuckin "E" and "P" generation losers - talk to you in 20.
you have to forgive the people with the headphones on their heads. Its the only thing thats keeping whatever they have inside intact. Their probably now the ones who decide whats being played on so called classic rock stations which is why it mostly sucks because lord forbid ..peoples heads might explode if they actually heard something besides what some pinhead thinks is safe.
@mark22isaking I know! I just saw Lake do this song live at the Emerson and Lake concert, and the entire audience was just glued to Lake the whole time, only interuppted by some cheers and hoots; this guy is a freaking legend! Oh well, this generation (besides me) doesn't know good music. As much as I'd love to blame justion bieber (which I do), most of the fault rests with rock bands of today. None of em' use keyboards as a variable, just an effect. I blame Green Day.
I just have to laugh at those idiots with their headphones pressing them down on their heads making believe that they are working instead of FREAKING OUT>> HOLY FUCK IT"S GREG FUCKEN LAKE PERFORMING RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! Pretentious radio fuckheads..
you obviously dont know how difficult it can be trying to capture a good sounding live performance. FAIL. youre fingers gotta be on them sliders boy. you gotta stay alert or shit can happen and it will sound like garbage.
I agree, everyone in this video is so blase', I'd be literally weeping, this an awesome performance that clearly nobody is appreciating....they probably don't even know who he is. Grrr.
I think it was ego. Too much Talent all 3 were considered the best at what they did.Great records until Works came out then they changed too much. They lost a vital part of what made them such a great band in the first place.
I agree, I was referring to the 90's when they would only play the hits & nothing new. Keith once said thats what people want to hear, yet fans wanted new stuff. They should have just played some new stuff and experimented.
I won a trip after to the dress rearsle in Phillidelpha . I got the Video to that .I'll upload that later. All will enjoy that video. I dont know about Hell or Heaven, but it seened the greatest show on earth to me that day.
Dumbass people there making shitty noise and talking! Its FROM THE BEGINNING.. a fucking MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tsk!!

this is one of the best recorded versions of FTB on YouTube. A testament to Greg's greatness since he's playing to halfwits who don't get it.

Hi Mark22saking,
I really don;t understand why you get so pissed off about the kind of guitar. It was a very nice clue for me, mate!
I love the sound, I am learning how to play it and I cannot imagine any guitar better than that one...what a sound!
It's magic!
