  • Dumbass people there making shitty noise and talking! Its FROM THE BEGINNING.. a fucking MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tsk!!

  • A great one man show, superb.

  • Greg Lake. Major hunk. Great voice.

  • Watch the whole video, they listen and are very respectful once he starts playing the tune. He's just tuning and getting his sound sorted out in the beginning.

  • After the show, I would have beat the shit out of those faggots. Seriously I was really pissed during the video.

  • Dowwnload the audio from this tune at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • Very talented! I would have just fell down and died on the spot- his voice is just wonderful! The audience doesn't seem to realize they are in the presence of an icon.

  • Amazing talent! I would have been there in complete silence anticipating the next note.. I can't believe people were talking over the music. Clueless audience. If I were there, I would have grabbed the guitar from Lake's hands and gone "postal".

  • This was recorded during the Brain Salad Surgery tour , June or July of 1992.

  • This was recorded in June or July 1992, Brain Salad Surgery Tour.

  • this is one of the best recorded versions of FTB on YouTube. A testament to Greg's greatness since he's playing to halfwits who don't get it.

  • one of my best at start of my muslcal life

  • I can't believe that these folks are actually talking over the music. They got a golden moment and it was wasted on the next generation. I should have been there with the rest of us...

  • @chipamos I recorded this before Youtube.I have the complete interview but the song came out so well ,that's what I posted.Glad you enjoyed.

  • Holy shit- Greg Lake just there in the middle of these people and they seem to be clueless!!!!

  • this is a great song...takes me back...amazing vocals and guitar part...always beautiful...thanx for the video!!

  • What a lucky people all of you were! So close to Greg a genius!

And what a pretty girl the one stand near the table...

  • What a genious!

  • RIP WBCN. There is no more rock in Boston.

  • Oh Greg u are ans stay a genius.-

  • Very good performance of From the Beginning.

Hats off to Greg, nice guitar sound.

  • He just so easily plays a lush version of Cream's "Badge" as a warmup/ afterthought. What a fuckin' guitar player this guy is!

  • @harveydents The tickets are already sold out! And that's at $80 a pop!

  • This IS my favorite rock song of all time.... I like that he didn't rush it.... the guitar sounds great as well.... my band plays this song and it's a lot of fun...especially having a good keyboardist for the end solo.... Lake and Emerson are on tour here in the states.... hope to see them in Annapolis, Maryland in April at The Rams Head Tavern.....

  • @dragonflySummer09 I KNOW!!! they are gonna be in PA on APRIL 2nd!!! tickets arent on sale though yet...

  • Hi Mark22saking,

I really don;t understand why you get so pissed off about the kind of guitar. It was a very nice clue for me, mate!

I love the sound, I am learning how to play it and I cannot imagine any guitar better than that one...what a sound!

    It's magic!

  • careing57587> That's a Gibson SJ-200Custom. It'll set you back about $4,500.

  • wish i knew what kind of guitar this is...sounds fantastic. And it's true about the lack of respect some people have for people who can play music like this.. They just don't have a clue...let's just be thankful it wasn't us. Greg Lake is one of a kind.

  • Thanks mets fan...figured it was a Gibson, or a Martin...

  • The girl on the left is a hottie..

  • Actually, I think those people are all absolutely mesmorised !!!

One of my favorite song played by one of my favorite bands.

  • wow that sounds so excellent

    +100

  • This is a great song. I used to really be into this group back in the day. Tarkus, twirling piano, etc... What a show! Thanks for bringing back memories.

  • it is at 1:06

  • This is just too hard to watch since some of the people seem bored. They wouldn't know talent if it walked up to them and struck them in the head.

  • Brilliant !!!!!!!! Greg Lake is #1.

  • Why weren't half those fucks paying attention to this genius and his song? Fuck I'm glad I was around and paying homage to real talent when the drugs and sheer genius were real (you fuckin "E" and "P" generation losers - talk to you in 20.

  • you have to forgive the people with the headphones on their heads. Its the only thing thats keeping whatever they have inside intact. Their probably now the ones who decide whats being played on so called classic rock stations which is why it mostly sucks because lord forbid ..peoples heads might explode if they actually heard something besides what some pinhead thinks is safe.

  • @mark22isaking 1.3 the band, 1/3 the audience, i guess

  • @mark22isaking I know! I just saw Lake do this song live at the Emerson and Lake concert, and the entire audience was just glued to Lake the whole time, only interuppted by some cheers and hoots; this guy is a freaking legend! Oh well, this generation (besides me) doesn't know good music. As much as I'd love to blame justion bieber (which I do), most of the fault rests with rock bands of today. None of em' use keyboards as a variable, just an effect. I blame Green Day.

  • Awesome! BCN is the best, wheres Ken Shelton these days...!!!

  • Great job! I just love them...ELP, that is :)

  • I just have to laugh at those idiots with their headphones pressing them down on their heads making believe that they are working instead of FREAKING OUT>> HOLY FUCK IT"S GREG FUCKEN LAKE PERFORMING RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! Pretentious radio fuckheads..

  • you obviously dont know how difficult it can be trying to capture a good sounding live performance. FAIL. youre fingers gotta be on them sliders boy. you gotta stay alert or shit can happen and it will sound like garbage.

  • I agree, everyone in this video is so blase', I'd be literally weeping, this an awesome performance that clearly nobody is appreciating....they probably don't even know who he is. Grrr.

  • still you turn me on

  • when was this recorded?

  • I believe it was the spring of 1991.

  • This was recorded during the Brain Salad Surgery tour , June or July of 1992.

  • mind boggling talent mr. lake has

  • I added a little effect on the recording ,I never recorded an interview before this WBCN show. The rest of the interview was recorded normally .

  • lordmjh -look 4ward to next posting. that was unique. greg always seems content playing informally. that was WOW

  • boooooo u need a close up and quit moving the camera!!!!

  • Wow what a jem we have here!!! I thought this was fake, but yeah that's Lake. How can those people be so lucky?

  • They are lucky men. (yuk yuk) sorry couldn't resist. Cheers!

  • Great video! I love ELP. They sounded great even in the beginning. Thanks for directing me here.

  • Another great band that self-destructed from laziness.

  • I think it was ego. Too much Talent all 3 were considered the best at what they did.Great records until Works came out then they changed too much. They lost a vital part of what made them such a great band in the first place.

  • I agree, I was referring to the 90's when they would only play the hits & nothing new. Keith once said thats what people want to hear, yet fans wanted new stuff. They should have just played some new stuff and experimented.

    Should have, could have....

  • I love these guys!

  • I won a trip after to the dress rearsle in Phillidelpha . I got the Video to that .I'll upload that later. All will enjoy that video. I dont know about Hell or Heaven, but it seened the greatest show on earth to me that day.
