Because Columbia Pictures originally released the film, 'brian', they also had the rights to issue the soundtrack on their "Colpix Records" label. They also released several albums of Hanna-Barbera's TV soundtracks in the early '60s (their TV subsidiary, Screen Gems, also distributed their TV shows from 1957 through '66).

This musical number was also previewed in the December 1963 syndicated special "Here Comes A Star" (presented in black and white), in which George Fenneman supposedly toured the Hanna-Barbera studio to see their latest projects [accompanied by Bill and Joe themselves, in a rare joint appearance], including the focus of the special: a preview of "THE MAGILLA GORILLA SHOW", which premiered in January 1964. Yogi's movie was released that June.
