@strgaltdelete I filmed this video a couple of years ago when I didn't see any other foreigners in the city, but I'd imagine there are some there now. I think all of the major cities in China, including second- and third-tier cities have foreigners living there.
Great! I was searching for my hometown video made in English so that I could share with my foreign friends. I went to all the places exclude the mud bath and fresh-eating fish bath, must have a try next time I am home. Btw, you visited the Fuzhou City, there is other suburb places like Changle, Fuqing, Lianjiang, Yongtai etc. have many interesting temples or tourist destinations to visit.
My friend says that you should visit to mumbai next time too
@rochelleraj I'm glad you found my video. I love Fuzhou so much. Next time I will try to spend some time out in the outlying towns. I spent a long time in Zhangzhou filming a 30-min travel feature on TuLou (not posted on the Internet), and I've been to Xiamen 3 times.
Hey Steven, I like all of your videos, but I like this one the most because Fuzhou is my hometown. Have you been to LianJiang, its a county northeast of the city? Lianjiang the place I lived until the age of 11.
@wangwi9009 Thanks! I really love Fuzhou because it has it's own character among the cities of Fujian. I haven't been to LianJiang, but it will be on my list next time I go.
So Fuzhou seems like an interesting city. Would it be wise to visit for a week or two if it was my first trip to China? I know somebody who lives there.
@TheVinster I always recommend that people visit cities in which they have friends. Traveling alongside locals is the best way. I stayed 6 days the first time I went, but I took a few day-trips to other cities around, so a week may be too long unless you want to visit with your friend. Enjoy your trip!
I love your hometown too. I wish so much that I could go back to Fuzhou right now. But I need to get a university degree so I can get a work visa there. :-( Means I still have more than 2 and a half years to go...
about that spa resort i think it's not good as u said,i have been there for around 4 times, but the service is not really good, and the place is lil bit dirty to call it high class spa resort lol..they need to clean and repair lots of stuff, and i feel interesting in that church,i have been in fuzhou for 3 years and go to lots of church in fuzhou, but never heard bout that church,i wish i can visit that church in sunday, btw nice video ^^ thx for share...GBU
Thanks for the comments. I was just at the spa resort again about 2 weeks ago, and they have renovated it very well. Regarding the service, I've found that making videos is a great way to get good service! ;) The church was cool.
The flesh-eating fish is meant to be good for the skin. Apparently the fish eat the dead skin. I was only one in the pool that day, and the fish were hungry.
Regarding the church, I made sure I heard her correctly: 20,000 and not 2000. The woman said they have 6 services every Sunday with about 4000 people at each one.
i love the way you say "Let's go" at the beginning introduction :)
it's so sexy :D

aroundjapan 1 year ago
@aroundjapan Thanks! I think I payed 300 or 400 RMB for the day there. That was almost 2 years ago, though. So maybe it would be closer to 400 now.

If you have chance to visit LianJiang, you should visit my town, Guantou (琯头镇).
LianJiang county breaks down 14 towns. The village I grow up is called Shan Dou (山兜)

Wow! So cool. Love the mud bath (so would my boys). But the flesh-eating fish thing? Crazy! Is it supposed to be therapeutic?
I really enjoyed the footage of the church, too. 20,000 people each Sunday? WOW.
